Passive quest, weird couple

After the bus disappeared at the end of the street, Nick finally recognized the shadowy figure. It was the customer from the restaurant the previous day, the Burning Ghost who had regained his memory because of the tequila she had given him!

"You're quite brave," the Burning Ghost said in a cold voice, having shed his terrifying ghostly aura.

Nick knew exactly what he was talking about. She bitterly smiled and said, "I'm under someone else's roof, so I have no choice. I made a mistake and was punished by the restaurant to go out and buy ingredients."

"If you don't complete the task, you'll still die."

Saying was one thing, but Nick was still shocked inside.

During the conflict on the bus just now, the Burning Ghost had crushed the Water Ghost with one hand, making all the other ghosts on the bus tremble with fear.

The Water Ghost had been able to see through Nick's disguise, so he must have been quite powerful. Yet in front of the Burning Ghost, he was erased without any room for resistance! Nick didn't dare to imagine the Burning Ghost's strength.

"Anyway, thank you!" Nick sincerely thanked him.

The Burning Ghost didn't say much and asked, "What do you need to buy?"

Nick directly handed him the note.

After reading it, the Burning Ghost's eyes narrowed slightly.

"What's wrong?" Nick asked.

"Ingredient No. 8 can only be found at the WL Supermarket."

"That's where I'm going."

"The boss there is hard to deal with, and Ingredient No. 8 is no ordinary ingredient. If you just use ghost coins, I'm afraid you won't be able to buy it from him," the Burning Ghost said.

"If ghost coins can't buy it, then what can?" Nick was taken aback.

The Burning Ghost shook his head slightly: "That's up to you."

He stepped aside and pointed to a street behind him: "Walk 100 meters down this street, and at the corner, you'll find the WL Supermarket."

Nick knew that the Burning Ghost couldn't help much with buying ingredients. Anyway, he had helped her this far and gotten her out of trouble, which was already very rare for Nick.

So, Nick thanked him again.

"That tequila of yours was very important to me, and besides, I don't like owing favors, especially to humans," the Burning Ghost said calmly.

Nick smiled slightly: "I understand."

"Angel's Kiss: You have gained +10 favorability from the Burning Ghost and obtained the ghostly item - Taisui Meat x2!"

"Taisui Meat: A food that ghosts cannot resist, often leading them to fight bloody battles over just a small piece."

Nick remembered seeing this thing before. It was also called fleshy ganoderma, a precious and expensive polymer. Instead of being consumed, it was basically collected by humans like an antique. In reality, the Taisui Meat seen on the market was all fake. Wild pure Taisui had never been proven to exist in the biological world.

Legend had it that the elixir of immortality was the so-called wild Taisui Meat. The mythical elements were too strong, making this substance uncertain and illusory.

"I wonder if the piece I have is real or fake?" Nick thought to herself.

After the Burning Ghost left, Nick didn't dwell on the Taisui Meat. She tidied up and walked towards the street.

About five minutes later, she turned the corner and sure enough, saw a large supermarket.

Newspapers flew everywhere on the deserted street.

All the shops were closed, except for this one supermarket that remained open.

Inside the supermarket, it seemed deserted, with a gloomy atmosphere that made one's heart shiver and dare not enter.

Nick, however, looked calm and took a step forward.

However, the moment he stepped into the supermarket, a system voice sounded in his mind. "Ding, passive mission triggered!"

"Host's location detected. Hidden ghostly entities that can be fused. Host needs to fuse the ghosts within 24 hours."

"Host has automatically acquired the ghostly fusion constitution - Yin-Yang Nightmare Body! (Can fuse up to 3 ghosts below A+ level!)"

"Upon completion of the reward, a random level treasure box can be obtained! (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Obsidian)"

"Mission failure penalty: Confiscation of all ghostly entities!"

"Can passive missions be triggered too?" Nick was taken aback.

Before even officially stepping into the supermarket, he had already received a mandatory mission!

The penalty was the confiscation of all ghostly entities.

For Nick, who had lost the protection of the restaurant, this was no different from stripping away all means of survival. "The arrow is already on the bowstring anyway, so it doesn't matter," he thought.

Nick walked into the supermarket.

The supermarket's business didn't seem to be doing well; it was much worse than the Strange Tales Restaurant, with lots of goods piled up on the shelves and flies buzzing everywhere.

At the front desk was a middle-aged man lying on a rattan chair, holding a wine bottle, drunk.

"Human or ghost?" Nick couldn't tell the middle-aged man's identity.

"Boss, I want to buy an ingredient."

The middle-aged man opened his eyes, glanced at Nick, and suddenly shouted angrily, "Dirty rat, take off your ugly disguise and get out of my store!"

Nick bitterly smiled, suddenly feeling that the murderer's raincoat was of poor quality.

But now that he was here, how could he easily leave?

He took off the murderer's raincoat and continued, "Boss, I just want to buy something and leave. "Do you see that empty spot on the shelf? If you keep talking nonsense, your head will be hung there!"

Nick frowned.

No wonder the Burning Ghost said the boss was difficult to talk to.

He was more than difficult to talk to; he was like seeing an enemy!

With this kind of attitude, it was a miracle if any customers came!

Nick remained unmoved.

The boss suddenly stood up.

Just then, a middle-aged woman suddenly walked over.

She grabbed a fruit knife from the table and stabbed it directly into the boss's neck, then collapsed to the ground with her head tilted.

Nick was frightened.

Wow!

This was so intense, what kind of grudge was this? "Sorry, I'm the boss's wife. That old fool doesn't know how to talk and has scared away so many customers."

"In our store, we don't care if you're human or ghost. Once you're in the store, you're our customer."

The boss's wife looked about thirty years old, with a kind face and a friendly tone.

Of course, if it weren't for that knife earlier, Nick would have thought she was a normal human being.

"What do you want to buy?"

Before Nick could speak, the boss suddenly stood up, pulled out the fruit knife from his neck.

Then, he viciously stabbed the boss's wife in the top of her head!

The boss's wife remained unmoved, even with a bright smile on her face.

"You bitch, rebelling?" The boss cursed.

The boss's wife turned around, grabbed the boss, and threw him into the darkroom. Then, from under the front desk, she grabbed an axe and followed him into the darkroom.

For a long time, intense fighting sounds and some tearing sounds came from the room, making one's hair stand on end.

About two minutes later.

The boss's wife came out, covered in blood, but still polite: "Sorry to let you see our family's ugly side."

"It turns out that men need to be severely punished to know who the head of the household is!"

"..."

Nick's mouth twitched slightly, and he agreed, "That makes sense, that makes sense."

"Alright, tell me what you want to buy."

Nick handed over the note.

When the boss's wife saw ingredient No. 8, her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly.
