When the atmosphere on the bus freeze to its extreme, and all the passengers were eyeing the box in Nick's hands with greed, Nick suddenly stood up and walked towards the back of the bus.
Everyone was stunned. What was he going to do?
Even the mummy ghost sitting in the last seat was taken aback.
Suddenly, they saw Nick's right hand become covered with livor mortis and emit a strong corpse stench.
A bloody eye opened on the back of his hand.
"Half-ghost?!" The mummy ghost's face changed.
Nick took a big step forward and slapped the mummy ghost hard.
The mummy ghost, terrified, tried to dodge, but the bloody eye seemed to have some kind of magic.
The moment their eyes met, the mummy ghost felt dizzy.
Within two seconds, it lost consciousness.
Bang!!
The slap landed with terrifying force, smashing the mummy ghost's head against the body of the bus, piercing through the thick iron sheet.
The mummy ghost pulled its head back, and its eyes blazed with fury: "You!!"
"What 'you'? I'm slapping you, you weirdo. Have you been itching for a beating since earlier?"
These words weren't spoken by Nick, but by the bloody-eyed ghost.
It had also been unhappy with this ghost for a long time.
The mummy ghost was obviously caught off guard, and its rotten cloth wrappings loosened, revealing decaying flesh and blood.
A hand reached out to grab Nick's head. Nick raised his right hand and swung it hard.
With a ripping sound, the mummy ghost's arm flew off and crashed into the window, leaving a bloody mess.
The mummy ghost's eyes were filled with shock.
"Use this on him!"
Nick took a human bone nail from the toolbar and gripped it in his right hand.
He slapped the mummy ghost's head with his right hand, and the human bone nail plunged entirely into its skull.
The mummy ghost let out a tearing scream, and its body began to decay at a visible speed.
Within a few seconds, all that was left on the seat was a pile of scattered cloth wrappings and a pool of rotten flesh.
Nick adjusted his clothes, turned around, and looked at the passengers on the bus who were still in a daze.
He smiled and said, "Sorry to disturb everyone. I don't like ghosts that buzz around and talk like flies on the bus, so I taught it a lesson."
"It's okay now. Everyone can go back to their own business."
With that, Nick returned to his seat.
The ghosts stared at each other with wide eyes.
You call this a proper lesson?
It's turned into a pile of mud! Many ghosts looked at Nick, especially at his right hand, with deep fear and dread.
Some ghosts that had originally stood up and were itching to make a move saw this and sat back down obediently.
Who would have thought that this human was actually a half-ghost and was so ruthless?
He had killed a ghost in front of all the other ghosts on the bus!
The heavy atmosphere of malice on the bus suddenly eased up a bit.
Nick glanced around and his body gradually relaxed.
Killing the chicken to scare the monkeys works on everyone, ghosts included.
It's always right to shoot the one that stands out.
Before long, the bus arrived at the Strange Tales Restaurant stop.
Nick got off the bus with the box and walked towards the restaurant.
The door to the restaurant was not closed.
In fact, the lights were still bright inside, but it was deserted, and not a single ghost was in sight.
As soon as Nick stepped into the restaurant lobby, a familiar voice sounded in his ear.
"I didn't expect you to come back alive," said Pinocchio.
Nick threw the box at him and said expressionlessly, "I've completed the task. I hope you're a boss who keeps your word."
Pinocchio looked down at the box and then at Nick: "Don't worry. Strange Tales Restaurant never owes its employees anything."
"Go back and rest. Be here on time tomorrow," he said, and then Pinocchio left.
Nick stretched and wondered if Ada's task today went smoothly.
On the way back to the dormitory, he passed by the vending machine and stopped.
"I'll have a bottle of water, a bucket of instant noodles, and two sausages," Nick said, patting the newly sewn iron sheet on the vending machine.
With a rattle, the items Nick had ordered rolled out without fail.
The vending machine ghost glanced at Nick as if it had discovered something and said suspiciously, "There's something wrong with your body."
Then, it suddenly exclaimed in horror, "When did you get a ghost inside you?"
It not only sensed the presence of the bloody-eyed ghost but also felt that it was a very terrifying ghost!
"Stop making a fuss. It's just a ghost. It's not going to eat you," Nick said, drinking a sip of water.
He took the food and left.
The vending machine ghost broke out in cold sweat and felt even more fear towards Nick.
Dormitory 404. Ada was huddled by the bed, trembling all over. Looking at the empty bed next to her, she was on the verge of breaking down and crying.
"Jason was taken away by a ghost, and Nick was killed by Pinocchio. It will be my turn tomorrow," she sobbed.
"Mom, I can't come back to see you. I'm sorry..." Just as Ada was about to cry out loud, the doorknob suddenly turned.
Ada's face filled with horror.
She quickly got out of bed and grabbed a pair of scissors from the table.
The door opened, and dim light shone in.
A figure appeared at the doorway.
Ada tightly gripped the scissors in her hands and screamed, stabbing fiercely at the figure.
Nick easily grabbed the scissors with his other hand, restrained Ada, and threw her onto the bed.
He then threw the scissors back onto the table with his other hand.
"If a ghost really comes in, it's better to use these scissors to kill yourself than to try and stab the ghost," Nick said as he tore open the instant noodle packaging on the table and picked up the kettle to boil water.
Ada was stunned.
It took her a few seconds to react, and then tears of joy flowed out. "You... you're not dead?"
Nick couldn't help but laugh: "Why do you sound like you're cursing me?"
"Waah, you don't know how worried I was about you. I thought you were dead for sure, and I wouldn't survive leaving here either!"
Ada threw herself at Nick, not caring about her reserve anymore.
She cried inconsolably, releasing all her pent-up emotions. Nick said helplessly, "Can you please stop crying and let me eat first?"
A beautiful woman throwing herself at him was something Nick, who had been single for over a decade, could only dream of.
But now, he was so hungry that all he really wanted was to fill his stomach.
"I still have some food left. Instant noodles alone won't fill you up. I'll go get it for you!"
Ada wiped away her tears and smiled happily, then turned to open a drawer and took out a lot of food for Nick.
She carefully heated it up, washed it, and placed it on the table.
Then, Ada sat down obediently and smiled, saying, "Go ahead and eat."
This made Nick feel a bit embarrassed.
Scratching his head, he said, "Thank you." Then, forgetting about his image, he started to devour the food hungrily.
After a while, Nick rubbed his belly and leaned back in his chair contentedly.
Seeing Nick like this, Ada felt extremely happy for some reason, as if she had been in a dark place and suddenly a beam of light enveloped her.
She felt a sense of security.
Blushing, she couldn't help but grab Nick's hand.
But suddenly, it felt like she had grabbed a block of ice, causing Ada to jerk her hand back.
Before she could be shocked, Nick's right hand emitted the cold voice of the Blood-eyed Ghost: "Human, don't touch me casually!"
