Chapter 7

Asher began pursuing me.

With money in his pockets, his courtship became grandiose.

But in my eyes, even the most vibrant roses couldn't compare to the fragrance of the wildflowers he'd casually pick for me on campus.

The most expensive jewelry couldn't match the strength of the red string we received as a blessing at the temple.

He started bringing me lunch at my office every day, and frequently brought up our childhood memories.

When I refused the lunchbox he offered once again, his voice became choked with emotion.

"Aria, do you remember? When we were twelve, I cooked for the first time and made you fried rice with eggs. Even though it was burnt black, you still praised it repeatedly. Now, try my cooking again, I've really improved."

I nodded.

"Of course I remember. That time you said you'd practice your cooking skills, so when we got married, you could make me meals every day."

"But since we started dating until now, you've never cooked a meal for me."
