Chapter 6

Melissa met Audrey outside a restaurant. "Isn't it a bit much Audrey?" Melissa asked. "I just want to spoil her rotten" Audrey said. "By renting the entire restaurant to yourself?" Melissa asked. "Don't be such a drama queen. Let's get inside" Audrey said.

Melissa entered the restaurant, the moment the little girl saw her, she became excited. "Papa bear!!" She said in excitement. "Baby bear" Melissa said. They both hugged each other.

"How have you been?" Melissa asked. "I'm very well thank you, aunty orange has been teaching me etiquette" She said. "How long will that last?" Melissa asked. "Not for long" She whispered.

"Sofia behave yourself" Audrey said. "I don't like it when you call me Sofia, call me baby bear" She said in anger. "Oh please let her act her age" Melissa said. Audrey gave Melissa a dissatisfied look.

"Now is baby ready to go see mummy bear and aunty bear?" Melissa asked. "Yes!!"

"Really? Mummy bear and aunty bear? Why do you want this girl to act like a child?" Audrey asked. "Why do you want her to act like an adult? She's just five for pete's sake" Melissa said.

"I'm going to take a glass of champagne" Audrey said in defeat. "So baby, how do you feel about moving back with us?" Melissa asked. "I'm super duper excited" Sofia said.

Derrick walked into the room looking uneasy. "Derrick is everything alright? You look panicked" Melissa said. "I'm fine, I'm just thirsty" Derrick said as he quickly gulped down an entire glass of water. Audrey looked at Derrick, they talked in code sign. "Is there something you guys would like to say?" Melissa asked.

"Um, I have an idea. How about we go somewhere fun. Like the beach, a theater or even go on a picnic" Audrey said. "Let's go have pizza" Sofia said in excitement. The restaurant glass suddenly shatters. "Fuck" Derrick cussed. Shots were fired outside the restaurant.

Melissa pulled Sofia underneath the table. "What the fuck is going on Audrey?" Melissa asked. "We need to get out of here. There's a car waiting just outside the restaurant" Derrick said.

"Come on we need to hurry" Audrey said. Melissa carried Sofia in her arms as she dashed to the door. They hopped into the car and drove off. Cars followed them from behind, Sofia was terrified to death.

Melissa froze on the spot as a dark past plays in her head. "Melissa snap out of it. You can't just blackout on us, we need you, Sofia needs you" Audrey said. "Papa bear.... I'm scared" Sofia said. Immediately Melissa snapped back to reality the moment Sofia touched her.

Shots were fired at the car. Sofia screamed in fear. Melissa pulled Sofia to a tight embrace. "It's okay, everything would be fine. Papa bear's got you" Melissa said in an assuring tone, she looks at Derrick. "Someone should fill me in on what's going on"

"I accidentally stole a top secret file from the Russian government, they've been tracking me down to get it" Audrey said. "Then give it to them" Melissa said. "The file contains details on how to wipe out half of earth's population" Audrey said. "So your honeymoon was fake?" Melissa asked.

"We'll that was our plan to escape. The reason we asked you to carry Sofia is so you could keep her safe" Audrey said. The car glass shattered from behind. "Give them the file goddamn it" Melissa said.

"Don't you get it? I don't have the freaking file. How was I supposed to know that just by playing a video game on the dark web could reveal a top secret mission to wipe out the entire human population from the earth?" Audrey asked.

"You are running for your life but you could still afford to rent out an entire restaurant all to yourself?" Melissa asked. "I didn't know they would find me so easily" Audrey said.

"We're talking about the Russian government here Audrey" Derrick said. "What do we do? We can't go to the police instead we take matters into our own hands" Melissa said.

"Baby bear, papa bear need you to be brave okay, I need you to bend down and stay put. Does anyone have a head phone?" Melissa asked. "It's in my bag" Audrey said as she handed it to Melissa. Melissa placed the head phone on Sofia's head and played a loud music.

"Audrey get back here, grab a gun or something. Derrick move over let me drive" "What?" Both Derrick and Audrey asked in unison. "You drive like a maniac" Derrick said. "You drive like an old lady, now scooch over"

Derrick scooched over as Melissa took over the steering wheel. The only thing on her mind was to keep Sofia safe.

"Derrick get us off the grid" Melissa said. "You want him to hack into the satellite" Audrey asked. "Hack the traffic light too and Audrey buy me time" "On it" Audrey said.

Audrey pressed a button and a little compartment opened underneath the seat, she pulled out a gun. "Derrick be my eyes" Melissa said.

"Take a sharp right" Derrick said. Audrey assembled the gun, she fired effortlessly hitting the enemy's driver, causing him to be unconscious and hit a building.

"Melissa watch out for that school bus!!" Derrick said. Melissa hit the brakes and took a sharp left. The enemy drove in front of Melissa aiming a gun at them. "Shit!!" Melissa cussed. "Get down" Derrick yelled. Melissa got down, she was able to make a donut turn just to avoid the bullet.

"Babe pass me the bullets" Audrey said. Derrick pulled bullets from his bag. "You just carry that with you?" Melissa asked. "Just in case " Derrick replied. Audrey grabbed the bullets and recharged. "Derrick I need the nearest beach you can find" Melissa said.

"It's up ahead, turn left" Melissa made a sharp left. Driving pass different building. "Now what?" Melissa asked. "Just straight ahead, take another left" Derrick said. Melissa obeys every direction.

Audrey was shot on the arm. "Darling are you alright?" Derrick asked as Audrey hissed in pain. "Derrick get of out of sight right now" Audrey said.

"Melissa take a right..... No your right" Derrick said. Melissa reversed back and took the right. After being chased for what felt like an hour they got to a bridge. "Melissa don't tell me you'll jump off the bridge" Derrick said.

"Hang on tight" Melissa said. "Are you crazy? Melissa don't do..... Melissa we're all going to die" Audrey said. Melissa didn't listen, she drove into the water knowing fully well they wouldn't survive.
