Chapter 93 - Halloween.... Jealous?

Halloween... Jealous?

Jay-Jay's POV

While walking on the bench, chaos unfolded. And of course, it was all because Keifer is crazy! He kept leading us somewhere, only to suddenly turn around and ask, "Where are we going again?"

"You like Jay?" Ci-N asked me.

I shook my head. I don't like Candy. I used to, but not anymore. It feels like he's the king of snakes. Suddenly, his words hit me like a slap— AAARRGGGHHH!!!

Don't even think about it! You might get confused!

"Shh," Keifer suddenly said.

What the heck? I didn't even say anything! He's really losing it.

I glanced at Keiren, who was bragging to Ci-N about the Candy and Chocolate they had collected.

"Why are you with Keiren?" I asked.

He adjusted his seat on the bench and looked up slightly.

"Keigan didn't want to come... I told him to stay home and that I'd bring him Candy and Chocolate, but of course, he didn't agree. So, here I am," he explained, sounding bored.

Admit it! The youngest couldn't handle it, so he tagged along.

Tsk! I suddenly thought of my older brother. He could probably do the same to me.

"And you? Why are you here with Ci-N?" he asked.

I explained that he had called me, and that's why I was here. He listened quietly, showing no reaction.

"...So, here I am," I imitated him.

He didn't respond. He just stayed silent, so I did too. The sky was getting darker—it was getting late. We should be heading home soon, especially for Keiren; he can't be out all night.

Not far away, we heard loud music. It sounded like a party. Suddenly, Keifer stood up.

"Let's go there," he said.

I didn't get up. I didn't understand what he was saying.

"Come on!" He grabbed my hand and started pulling me.

"Ouch! Wait!" I complained, but he ignored me.

Ci-N and Keiren followed behind us. I almost tripped because of how fast he was walking. We stopped in front of an entrance to an event. The place was completely decorated for Halloween. The loud music was definitely coming from here.

"What are we doing here?" I asked Keifer.

He didn't answer me. Instead, he walked up to the table near the entrance and spoke to the person there. I didn't understand what they were saying. I glanced at Ci-N and Keiren, equally confused.

Keifer turned back to us. "Let's go inside."

I really didn't want to. I didn't understand this snake king at all. Maybe some spirit had possessed him again. I signaled to Ci-N, and the two of them followed.

Inside, it was just like the other Halloween party we had attended—except this one seemed more organized.

"What are we doing here?" I asked Keifer again.

"Because I'm bored."

This guy is unbelievable! Just like his brother—he enjoys being annoying!

The place was full of teenagers in costumes, chatting with each other.

"Hi!" A girl greeted Ci-N.

He smiled and waved back. Should I report this to Rakki?

"You're so cute!" another girl said to Keiren.

Being naturally grumpy, he just moved away from her.

I wanted to leave. This scene reminded me of the party at Felix's teammate's house. Except this one was calmer, with good music.

"I'll just get some drinks," Keifer said and disappeared from my sight.

I turned around to check on Keiren, but he was gone too.

Oh, come on! Here we go again!

I sighed and decided to stay put. I didn't want to get lost.

"Hi, Miss! You're alone?" a guy dressed as Superman asked me.

He was smiling, but before I could respond, someone else spoke first.

"She's not. She's with me."

I turned to look at the person. He was wearing a white mask. The guy in the Superman costume left, allowing me to get a better look at the newcomer.

Then, the disco lights hit his face. Even with the mask, I saw his eyes—blue.

"Percy?"

He smiled and rubbed the back of his neck.

"...W-what are you doing here?" I asked, surprised but happy.

I had been searching for him for so long, asking so many questions.

"A very, very long story," he replied.

My heart started beating fast. I didn't want to waste this moment. Who knows when I'd see him again?

"Percy... Can I ask you something?" I said.

He smiled at me. "That's already asking."

I glanced at him slightly. "I'm serious."

His smile faded, and he became serious. He held my hand, sending a shiver down my spine. His hand was cold.

"I know you have a lot of questions, but save them for the future. I can't answer anything right now," he said.

"B-but why?"

He took his phone from his pocket.

"I can't tell you... Give me your number, and I'll contact you as soon as possible."

Even though I was confused, I took his phone and typed in my number. He pressed a few buttons, then looked at me again.

"When I can, I'll call you," he said before suddenly leaning in and kissing me on the forehead.

I froze. Before I could react, he was already gone.

"Hey..." Keifer called, bringing me back to reality. "Who was that guy?"

I couldn't answer. I didn't know what to say. Should I tell him Percy's name?

Suddenly, the music changed, and people ran to the center—Ci-N was already dancing with the girls.

"Let's go sit over there," Keifer pointed to a table.

I followed him. He handed me a can of beer. I hesitated, but I felt like I needed it now.

"Don't worry, it's clean. I didn't put anything in it," he said before I accepted the beer.

I opened it and took a sip. It tasted pale, but whatever.

I couldn't get Percy out of my mind. Why not now? Why couldn't he tell me now?

"Who were you talking to earlier?" Keifer asked again.

"It's nothing... just someone I used to know," I answered, sounding bored.

He nodded and took a sip of his beer.

We watched as Ci-N flirted with the girls. Then, I suddenly remembered Keiren.

"Where's Keiren?" I asked Keifer.

He pointed to a table full of girls dressed as bunnies. They were surrounding Keiren, feeding him Candy and Chocolate.

"Aren't you going to check on your brother?"

Keifer shook his head. "Nah... Even though I look happy, I'm just here."

Happy face... yeah, right.

"You should join them. It looks fun over there," I muttered before taking another sip.

Keifer smirked, which annoyed me.

"Are you sure? I might actually go. I'm starting to get jealous of Keiren," he teased.

Was he serious?

"Go ahead! Go enjoy yourself with those bunny girls!" I snapped.

He burst out laughing. "You're angry."

"No, I'm not! I'm fine with it," I said calmly, though I knew I sounded sarcastic.

He laughed again, looking at me like he had figured something out.

And then, a girl in a sexy bunny costume approached Keifer.

"Hi!" she greeted, smiling. "...I've been watching you for a while. I just wanted to get to know you."

The shameless Keifer glanced at me before turning back to her.

"Sure! I'm Keifer," he said, shaking her hand with a smile.

And just like that, my annoyance exploded. Why am I so annoyed?!

I clenched my jaw, feeling an unexpected surge of annoyance. Why am I even mad?! They continued chatting, laughing here and there. What is this flirt-fest? He said he'd only introduce himself, yet now they're deep in conversation! The King of Snakes is enjoying himself too much!

I sat there watching them, growing more irritated with every giggle and every unnecessary arm slap from that flirty woman.

It's fine. It's totally fine.

The music suddenly changed, and to make things worse, Miss Bunny Girl started swaying her hips, clearly inviting Mr. Show-Off to dance with her. Ugh, I could dance better than you!

They turned to me.

"Come on, Jay! Let's dance!" Keifer grinned at me.

Is he stupid?

"I don't want to! You two go ahead," I huffed, shaking my head.

But apparently, this guy doesn't understand the word no. Before I could react, he grabbed my wrist and dragged me to the dance floor, right into the middle of a crowd.

I just stood there, unmoving, while Keifer happily danced with his new friend.

Ugh, my eyes are burning!

Frustration bubbled inside me as I stole glances at them. That flirty butterfly was practically glued to the King of Pests!

Tch! Annoying!

I was so mad—mad, frustrated, and irritated—that I just let loose and started dancing. I didn't care if people laughed at me. I just moved, pouring all my annoyance into every step.

I was so into it that I accidentally bumped into someone. Not that I cared.

I'm busy dancing! Woooohhhh!

I kept going until I suddenly felt hands wrap around my waist from behind.

I didn't even turn around. I just kept dancing.

I didn't know why I was so annoyed, but I could feel it surging through me.

I swear, I'm going to slap a bunny!
