Chapter 62 - David V/S Kiko

Jay-jay's POV

"Oh! Put it on your head!" Keifer's angry command rang out.

I took the ice bag and placed it on my head. My legs and body ached even more. I was beginning to realize just how high up we were. I believe I can fly!

Three people joined me—Sir Kiko, Keifer, and St. Yuri. But even so, the impact was painful.

"You alright, Jay?" Kiko asked, handing me a bottle of water.

"Yes... Thank you."

"Don't do that again, Jay. You scared us," Yuri said.

"I'm sorry... I just wanted to get away from the Rams." I was gone, I was a mess.

The group immediately started moving towards the Rams. Luckily, we had a lot of them. I looked at David. He was staring at me intently. I remembered the time when Kiko and David had fought.

"Um... Kiko. Can we talk?" I asked.

He smirked and nodded. I heard Keifer and Yuri whisper, "Leave them alone." They got the message and walked away. David and the others did the same. When I was sure they were far enough, I finally spoke to Kiko.

"Kiko—"

"Whatever David said earlier, believe me, I didn't mean it," Kiko whispered.

I suddenly hesitated. Why was he being so defensive? Was he anticipating something?

"Kiko, listen... I'll be direct with you. I don't want to get lost first. It's not that I don't want to be early or anything, I just don't want to. I hope you understand that."

Kiko was stunned. Was I going too fast? He looked shocked. Seriously! I didn't intend to hurt his feelings.

"I understand. But I won't let you go. I'm always here early," he said, forcing a smile.

"Thank you, Kiko. I'm sorry about that."

"It's okay... um... I need to leave, Jay. I'm looking for my friends," he said and walked away.

I was about to leave as well, but suddenly, I remembered something.

"Kiko! Wait a minute!" I called after him and ran up to him.

"What's that?" he asked.

"Please don't fight David again. Please, please."

"I can't promise, but I'll try," he answered and walked away again.

Once he was out of sight, the others immediately crowded around me, eager for gossip.

"What's up? Did you reject him?" Ci-N asked.

I nodded. Keifer's eyes didn't look right. Yuri kept a poker face.

"Go home, Jay... It's getting dark," Yuri said.

I picked up my bag and slung it over my shoulder. I listened to them first, but I felt annoyed.

"I'll take you home, Jay," David offered.

"No need. I can manage," I replied and walked away.

Even without looking, I knew they were watching me. And even though he didn't say anything, I knew David was following me. I could just feel it. Maybe there was something special I didn't know.

"Jay..." David called my name.

I didn't respond. I just kept walking straight ahead.

"I know you're upset about what we did."

"Oh, really?" I said sarcastically.

"Jay, I'm sorry about that. We just didn't want you to get hurt."

"I understand that part. But tell me the truth. Tell me what's really going on. I don't understand anything!" I explained him.

"You already know our story, so what exactly should I tell you?" he asked.

I just wanted to know what had happened between them. Yes, I knew they fought, but that was all I knew. I stopped and faced him.

"What happened between you and Kiko? Yes, I know you fought, but why?"

"Okay... I'll explain everything to you."

David's POV

*Flashback*

"Keifer!" I called him.

It was no longer self-evident. It was embarrassing that they were doing exactly what they were accused of.

"Don't bother me!" he snapped back.

Yuri grabbed my arm. "Let's leave him alone for now."

I didn't want to, but Yuri knew Keifer better. He knew what a friend should do. Yuri gave me a nod, and I understood that Keifer was heartbroken. But he still had school to think about. The reputation of Section E was only getting worse.

I went back inside the room and looked at them. The whole Section E was affected. Why did Keifer have to drag everyone into his mess?

"David..." Yuri called me.

"... Please make an announcement," he said.

I nodded. "Guys! The rule that Keifer and Yuri applied to us is now official!" I announced.

They reacted immediately, but Yuri was the one who explained it to them. I should have been the one to give Section E the rule, but what could I do? Even though I was the president, Keifer was the one who always overshadowed me. I wasn't bothered because they still followed me, and I still had the power to control them.

A year later... after enforcing the rule that 'No Section E is allowed in the cafeteria,' most of them lost interest in following me. Why did I let Keifer enforce such a rule? I didn't want to say it, but I wasn't a part of the A's either.

Keifer hit Aries. I thought Yuri would stop him, but he got involved in the mess too.

"How long do we have to follow this rule? I'm starving," Ci-N said.

I felt sorry for him. I had been eating plenty, but it wasn't enough for me and the others. Yuri was in the room too, but he wasn't involved either. No one seemed to care about them.

"David!" someone shouted.

I immediately left the room to check. Denzel ran towards me.

"What is it?!"

"It's Kit and Eren!" Denzel answered.

I didn't wait for more details. I ran to the main building, but I found them in front of the cafeteria. Other students surrounded them. Kiko and Michael had them restrained.

"David!" Kate called when she saw me.

"The president is here!" Michael announced.

Eren's arm was twisted behind his back, while Kit was in a headlock held by Kiko.

"They're the ones sneaking into the cafeteria," Kiko said.

"... And what good does that do?"

"Let them go, Kiko!" I ordered.

Kiko chuckled. "And if I don't?"

"Look, Kiko... I don't want to cause trouble. Let them go!"

Michael and Kiko laughed.

"Coward! You're the only one who doesn't fight in this section! What happened to Section E?!" Kiko sneered.

"I just don't want to cause trouble!"

"You're just making things worse!" Michael taunted.

Kit shouted, "If you can't handle them, just call Keifer!"

Call him? No. I had to handle this myself.

"I'll face them!" I declared, turning to Kiko. "Let them go, and I'll deal with this."

Kiko smirked and let Kit go, while Michael did the same with Eren.

Kiko looked at me with his usual smile. "Where do you want to settle this? Here at school?"

"Where do you want?" I countered.

Michael whispered something to him. They exchanged glances before turning back to me.

"The old factory. One-on-one. That's the rule," Kiko said and walked away.

The other students just looked at me, but I had no contact with them. I didn't want to get into a fight, but I had to deal with Kiko Evans. I went back to the room. It was as if they were waiting for news. They looked at me.

"Are we going to call Keifer?" they asked me. I shook my head. "All right... I talked to them."

"What did you do?" Kit asked.

"It's all about us," I answered and went back to my seat.

"You probably didn't beg them, did you?" Kit asked again.

"...Because you're good? Able to talk?" There was a hint of anger in his voice.

I just listened and didn't answer. I didn't want to be in trouble, no matter what others said. They called me weak or a coward.

"Why didn't you answer?! Because it's true!" Kit shouted.

"...Did you really come here because you got into a fight?! You were just dumped because you're useless!"

"Since the former president left, he has done nothing but accept us or get us out of trouble!" he continued.

"...I didn't even see you fight! We're gamblers! That's the title of Section E! So, are you going to talk to someone else----"

"HELL

!" I shouted, slamming my hand against the desk.

I couldn't stop myself anymore. Sometimes, I really get caught up in what they say.

"I'm the president! I'm the one to follow! That's the rule that Section E follows!" I reminded them.

It's funny! For those of us who don't follow these rules, they are forced to follow. I knew Kit was upset. I couldn't blame him. The problem was too big. Keifer's burden was getting heavier. Years had passed, but he still hadn't been able to let go of the past, and it weighed him down. He still wanted to get Ella back.
