Cultivators

"Woah!" Wu Tian was amazed, then he remembered his dreams and it seemed the people he saw were cultivators as they do could all that and much much more.

"Uncle Hu, can I be a cultivator?" Wi Tian asked eagerly,

"Of course. Young master, everyone can be a cultivator. You see, we humans have something called a spiritual root and when we are nine years old we are tested to see if our spirit root are suitable for cultivation. You young master may be one of those geniuses whose spirit root may manifest early." Qin Hu said

Immediately, Wu Tian's mind sprang forth to generate scenes of him becoming a great cultivator.

He saw himself a mighty figure as uncle Hu said and bringing his mom and dad with him to fly. He would build a cloud house and chase sky rabbits and eat and do many amazing things. As he imagined this he soon led himself into sleep where he seemed to be still having fantastic dreams.

Qin Hu who had been watching the young master noticed this and wearing a slight smile, got and up adjusted the sleeping child's covers then quietly left.

Wu Tian woke up and felt weird, he noticed that he had not had any disturbing dreams. He then felt a warmth next to him and looked to see his mother sleeping next to him.

He immediately felt a warm feeling surge in his heart. His mother must have really felt worried for him after he was injured, he immediately made an inner resolution to be more careful.

As if feeling the movement Lin Qing stirred and woke up, she seemed to automatically reach out and caress Wu Tians head

'"Good morning Tianer" she said as she got up.

"Morning Mother." Wu Tian said as he tried to get up.

He moved carefully, wary of the phantom pain he had felt as he had tried to make excessive movements but none came, there was only a distinct soreness and a tight feeling from all his limbs.

Nonetheless he felt that big movements were still too risky. His mother watched him in concern as he slowly shuffled around, she then came close and carefully placed her hands close to him so she could catch him in case he fell.

Wu Tian felt tired after a while and shuffled to the bed.

His mother was relieved seeing this and called in a servant who left and returned with a tray laden with all kinds of delicacies.

Wu Tian had always liked food and immediately felt saliva well up in his mouth, he wanted to immediately and ravenously fall on it but his mother playfully flicked him on the head.

She fed him and after making sure he was okay left to attend to her duties as the lady of the house.

Three days quickly passed by, and the whole mansion was a flurry of activity. News had quickly spread that the lady of the house was expecting and that the county lord was going to hold a banquet.

This news had caused quite a furor in the entire county and everyone was talking about it.

Meanwhile Wu Tian had already recovered quite well and was able to walk stably, the doctors had said his body had healed surprisingly well and only his meridians were a little sore. He was relieved to hear this but what occupied his mind was a ton of questions.

Foremost on his mind was what the energies in his body were. He remembered that there were three energies involved when he was injured.

There was the first energy that appeared to assist him in practicing when he imitated uncle Hu, there was the energy that resulted from his practice then there was the energy that suppressed the first energy.

All this energies seemed extremely different yet connected and he wondered If he should ask the adults.

Even though he was young, he was not naïve enough to believe that everyone had such energy in their body.

He didn't want to worry his parents. He had noticed that people treated him as abnormal enough already and although he didn't think they would mind, he instinctively preferred that he appeared more normal.

This left him feeling perplexed as he wondered where to get more information.

Another thing that perplexed him was that he had gained another sense, it was like a subtle pricking in the back of his mind and he couldn't make heads or tails of it.

However, this would have to wait till he after the banquet. He was quite looking forward to the way the whole house shone with lights and decorations and although he wasn't allowed to attend, he would sneakily watch.

Soon enough it was the night of the banquet, guests in richly ornamented carriages rolled in one after another, all clad in clothes that showed that they were the who's who of the county.

In fact there were even guests who were rumored to be from out of the county. As they trickled in and were received it was finally time for the banquet to begin.

Wu Tian, ever handy, found a corner through which he could peep through and observe, he saw his father come and greet the guests and after a while he came to the front.

"I, Wu Zemin am honored to have your company today, it seems that the deities have –" .suddenly an annoying voice rudely interrupted.

"Brother, you were having a party and you didn't invite me?" everyone turned to look at the owner of the voice only to see a procession of people stream in led by a richly clad arrogant looking man.

The procession pushed aside the banquet goers till the young man arrived in front of Wu Zemin. Meanwhile Wu Zemin had a look of fury on his face which he then schooled into a neutral expression as he watched the richly clad man.

"Wu Zenlin, why are you here?" Wu Zemin said coldly.

"Brother, why so cold. Aren't you happy to see your big brother?" Wu Zenlin said with a mock hurt look on his face.

"Wu Zenlin, say your piece and leave, you are interrupting my banquet."

Wu Zenlin still had an arrogant look and as he went to speak Wu Zemin reminded him "Any nonsense and I will have Qin Hu remove you from my home ." as soon as he said this. Qin Hu immediately stepped forward.

But as soon as he did another man stepped forth from Wu Zenlin's entourage.

This immediately caused a the tension in the room to rise to a fever pitch, and even the smirk on Wu Zenlin's face subsided as he felt that things might get out of hand, after all they were on Wu Zemin's turf and he was the one that had provoked Wu Zemin.

If Wu Zemin decided to take them down and explain later then he would have suffered a loss unnecessarily, so he called his man back and reigned in his attitude.
