Exploration

Wu Tian was feeling a little intimidated, he hadn't interacted with a lot of strangers before and now that he was…..it wasn't as easy as he'd thought.

Just as he was hesitantly looking around, he heard a pleasant voice speak up "Ergu, what is it?" Just then a beautiful young miss came from the back. she was a bit surprised to see Wu Tian and wondered what was going on. "young miss, I found this kid here, he seems lost."

The beautiful miss knelt by Wu Tian and smiled radiantly at him "What's your name, little guy?"

Looking at her smile, Wu Tian felt she seemed nice and said "Wu Tian. My name is Wu Tian." The young lady's smile constricted a little.

The Wu surname wasn't uncommon, just that that was also the surname of the current County lord. She wondered if the child was from there, but then she herself struck that thought from her mind. That would be simply absurd.

She then carefully looked at Wu Tian again "are you lost little guy?" Wu Tian shook his head. He wasn't ready to end his exploration yet and this big sister might just cart him back home if he said he was lost.

Seeing this the lady smiled, she then noted that Wu Tian kept sneaking glances at the dumplings at the side. She smiled again, took one and wrapped it up and then handed it to him. Wu Tian hesitantly looked at her but unable to resist the appetizing aroma and his own hunger, eagerly took it.

Hi then flashed a bright smile at her, turning on his cuteness to a hundred percent and then thanked her. A bit stunned at the cute scene, the lady practically had stars appear in her eyes and almost gave in to the impulse to hug him and pinch and nibble his cute cheeks.

Wu Tian sensing danger quickly made his exit, waving goodbye at the maiden. Ergu at the side was left baffled at this interaction and wondered just what was going on, he looked at his young miss and saw her observing the street in interest. He looked outside but not noticing anything of interest

Wu Tian walked as he ate the delicious pastry and feeling energized decided to explore a little more and then find the way back home.

As for the way back home and what would happen if his mom found him gone, eeh, he hadn't thought that far and preferred to leave that to the future him. Wu Tian found himself leaving the prosperous areas and arrived at a place where the traffic was sparser and less busier

As he was passing through near an alley, his sense of danger spiked and he quickly whirled around to trace the source of the feeling. He noticed a rough looking burly man following him and upon noticing Wu Tian's stare, he increased his pace towards Wu Tian intending to swipe him and disappear into the alley.

The adrenaline from adventure cleared from Wu Tian's mind and as clarity returned, he realized that he had been too careless. He was a three year old, richly clad, cute looking child wandering around looking lost not to mention he had just wondered into the shady part of town. if the kidnapers didn't kidnap such an easy mark who would they kidnap.

In fact if he was a kidnaper he would also kidnap himself. This also showed him that his ability to sense danger wasn't omnipotent. If he couldn't react to protect himself then sensing danger was useless. And if the danger was constant or arose suddenly then it would be similarly perilous. Still he was thankful he had sensed danger as he would have been carted away unawares had he not sensed the men's nefarious intentions, he still had a few crucial seconds to react.

Wu Tian moved his little legs intending to dart into the shops ahead of the alley but felt a sense of danger ahead as another man bore on him from ahead. He was surrounded. He considered screaming for help he hoped his little voice would be heard over the din on the street but knew before others reacted maybe he would already be gone.

As the men bore bore on him and he opened his mouth to scream at the top of his lungs. He saw a small blur pass by the kidnapers, a small dirty looking child about six years old ran the men, picked up Wu Tian and dashed into the alley. The men were baffled, but quickly reacted and followed after the runt. How could they allow a cooked duck to suddenly fly away.

Wu Tian was a little taken aback by the sudden change in situation. Not that he was complaining or anything, after all he didn't feel any malicious intent from his would be rescuer. He looked up to see a young face, lips scrunched as he panted from the effort of carrying Wu Tian and getting as far as possible from their pursuers. They could feel the footsteps getting closer and closer and Wu Tian grew worried again.

Just as the he thought they were both done for, he felt the boy slow down and dart into a narrow cleave between two buildings. It seemed miraculously placed there for them to get away since it was so narrow. They squeezed through, leaving the kidnappers cursing as they tried and failed to squeeze through. They didn't give up though seeming to have a plan as they disappeared.

Wu Tian and the boy emerged on the other end of the narrow passage. The boy set Wu Tian and placed his hands on his knees as he breathed heavily. Wu Tian though could feel that they were still in danger and quickly reminded him. "They are still coming, in that direction." He quickly pointed to the distance where as sure as rain the three men materialized. Looking left and right the men spotted them and immediately began making for them.

The boy let out an annoyed sigh as he picked up Wu Tian and sprinted in the opposite direction. Luckily they could see an open street a distance away. Now it was a race of who would get to their destination fast enough.

The boy carrying Wu Tian pumped his feet, each step seeming more arduous than the last but the reminder of the men on their heels motivated him to continue. The unwitting race continued with Wu Tian as the only participant whose was unable to contribute but one whose stakes were greatest. For the first time he regretted his decision to recklessly sneak out without notifying anyone.
