Aunt recoiled in shock, stumbling back two steps and bumping into me.
She grabbed my hand, her grip so tight it felt like her fingers were digging into my flesh.
"Finnie, is what she's saying true?"
Aunt even called me by my childhood nickname.
I couldn't help but laugh. "How could it be? You're my aunt. Don't you know if I have a girlfriend or not?"
Serenity tried to walk towards us, her mouth moving silently.
Suddenly, Nolan fell to the ground.
He clutched his ankle with one hand, grabbing Serenity with the other. "Serenity, I think something bit me."
Under the flickering lights, there was blood visible on his hand.
This place was close to the beach, so it wasn't unusual to find insects or scorpions around.
I had to admit, Nolan really knew how to handle Serenity.
Hearing he'd been bitten, Serenity completely forgot about me.
She quickly helped Nolan to his feet, hurrying past me. "I'll take you to the infirmary."
"Don't worry, it'll be fine."
