She fell to her knees, bowing her head and weeping as she spoke.

Still feeling somewhat unresigned, Jolene said, "I didn't lose to you. The doctor said I have a good constitution for pregnancy. As long as I sleep with a man without protection, there's a high chance I'll get pregnant."

Gunner flew into a rage, lunging forward like an out-of-control beast, punching and kicking.

Snowdrop cried out in pain, begging for mercy, but Gunner had lost all reason, his blows becoming increasingly violent.
