Chapter 7

Conscious of still being alive, I abruptly sat up.

"My credit card..."

This was a clean and luxurious room.

The man standing guard by my side chuckled.

"You're quite the money-grubber, aren't you?"

I surveyed the unfamiliar surroundings and unfamiliar people.

A pretty young woman brought in some soup.

"You're awake. My brother caught a cold trying to save you."

"Too much information."

The man was wrapped in a thick bathrobe. His features were handsome, and I could tell he had a tall, impressive build.

He introduced himself: "Nolan. This is my sister, Melody."

Hearing his name and examining his features more closely, I felt like I'd seen him on TV before.

In New York City, both the Grey and Prescott families' companies were top-tier industry leaders, but the Grey family had always had the upper hand over the Prescotts.

These two families seemed to have been at odds for a long time.

"I'm Vivienne. Thank you for saving my life."
