Chapter 8

Cian felt increasingly uneasy as he drove Grace home, as if something was about to happen.

Just as he was about to turn back, Grace started crying again, saying she felt unwell.

He had bought Grace a house and was planning to head back after dropping her off.

This time, Grace didn't try to make him stay.

He rushed home, eager to see if Vivienne had taken a cab back by herself.

The house was silent when he arrived; she hadn't returned.

He texted her, but got no reply. He called, but no one answered.

He went back to the bridge to look for her, circling the entire lakeside, but still couldn't find her.

He realized that he might have truly upset her.

When he had proposed to Vivienne, it was indeed out of spite, lying that his heart was clear of other feelings.

Now, in just a few short days, he had repeatedly sided with Grace against Vivienne.

No wonder she was angry.
