Marco shook his head slowly. "If you really thought of this as running away, you wouldn't have said the truth so gently. And you wouldn't be this afraid to admit what you've really been feeling all this time," Marco said honestly.

Caroline lowered her head again. Her eyelids trembled as she fought back the tears threatening to fall. "I'm tired of always having to look strong like this. But if I stop being strong... I'm afraid everything I've worked so hard to build will just fall apart."

Marco tightened his grip on her hand slightly. Not to restrain—but to reassure. "I didn't come here to break what you've built, Caro. I came... because I want to be part of it, and help make it stronger."
