In the midst of the Monolith World, filled with a deadly silence, Raka and Lily found themselves surrounded by a dark forest with a strong magical aura. Towering trees with gnarled branches seemed to watch their every move. Raka looked around, sensing the presence of others nearby.
To their right, a few meters from where they stood, two figures emerged.
Cerdric, a human nobleman with a blue rapier and an arrogant smile, stood there with an air of confidence. Beside him, Thrain, a stocky Dwarf with a large war hammer in his hand, exuded an aura of intimidating strength. They looked at Raka and Lily with interest, clearly considering them their next prey.
Cerdric: (In a mocking tone, his eyes narrowed with confidence) "Well, well, look what we have here. Looks like we found our next meal."
Without warning, Cerdric moved quickly towards Raka and Lily to slash at them. Lily immediately created an ice shield to block the attack.
Cerdric: (Chuckles, seeing Lily's quick response) "Oh, you're fast. But you can't escape now.
He stood calmly, blocking their escape route. However, Lily simply raised an eyebrow, unfazed by the taunt.
Lily: (In a cold tone, staring at Cerdric) "Who said anything about running?"
With a swift motion, Lily conjured two ice spears in her hands, launching them at Cerdric and Thrain without warning. Cerdric nimbly dodged to the side, while Thrain slammed his war hammer into the ice spears, shattering them into small pieces that scattered in the air.
Raka, though initially surprised by Lily's sudden attack, immediately took action. He attempted to control several flying daggers with his Telekinesis magic, aiming them at the rapidly moving Cerdric. However, Cerdric's movements were so agile and swift. Every dagger Raka sent was deftly dodged or deflected by his rapier.
Raka: (Frowning, watching Cerdric who continued to move) "Damn it."
He turned to Lily, speaking in a serious tone.
Raka: (In a firm tone) "Lily, this won't work like this. We have to switch opponents!"
Lily frowned, looking hesitant for a moment.
Lily: (In a skeptical tone, looking at Raka) "You want to fight that Dwarf? You'll be crushed by his hammer!"
Raka: (Smiling slightly, though a bit tense) "Trust me. I still have other weapons."
Lily was silent, staring at Raka for a moment with her cold eyes. Finally, she nodded reluctantly.
Lily: (In a serious tone) "Alright, but don't get in my way."
{Flashback: Telekinesis Training with Alya}
Years ago, in a small hut in the forest where they met every Friday night, Alya stood calmly, explaining the basic principles of Telekinesis to Raka.
Alya: (In a patient tone, her hand holding a magic book) "This magic doesn't require any attributes to use it. But the amount of mana consumed depends on the weight of the object you control, and mana will be drained more as the object's speed increases. Many mages choose to control small objects because they consume less mana."
Raka looked confused, raising his hand hesitantly to ask.
Raka: (In a curious tone) "Is the mana consumption to accelerate an object the same, even if the weight of the object is different?"
Alya: (Nodding gently, explaining calmly) "Yes, the mana consumption to exert an object remains the same, even if the weight is different. But if the object moves too fast, your brain will be strained. That's why this magic is less popular, because it's like growing a new limb."
Raka listened carefully, his mind racing with new ideas.
Raka: (Speaking excitedly) "So, if I control something heavy, I will use more mana at the beginning. But after that, the mana consumption is the same as a small object?"
Alya: (Smiling slightly, nodding) "That's right."
Raka approached Alya, whispering softly about his plan.
Alya: (Surprised, her eyes widening) "That's a very interesting idea, Brother!"
{Back to the Fight}
Now, Raka stood with two scrolls in his hand, looking at Cerdric and Thrain with a newfound confidence.
Cerdric: (Laughing loudly, mocking Raka) "Hahaha! This poor guy is even too poor to buy a subspace item! You really have the guts to enter this school."
Lily looked at Raka a bit skeptically, but Raka only smiled confidently.
Raka: (In a casual tone) "Well, just watch."
He opened both scrolls, and a bright light shone as two large piles of iron appeared before him, floating in the air due to his Telekinesis magic.
Thrain: (In a surprised tone, narrowing his eyes) "That's... adamantite? How can you have it?"
Raka only smiled widely, staring at Thrain with a sharp gaze.
Raka: (In a mocking tone) "The dead don't need to know the affairs of the living."
He launched one of the piles of iron at high speed towards Thrain. Thrain tried to stop it with his war hammer, but the weight and power of the object far exceeded his expectations. His hammer was thrown out of his hand, and he staggered backward.
Before Thrain could react further, Raka pointed to the sky.
Thrain: (In a surprised tone, looking up) "What—"
Another pile of iron hurtled down from the sky, hitting Thrain with tremendous force. His body was thrown and fell to the ground, motionless.
On the other side, Lily had already dealt with Cerdric. With ice freezing the ground around him, Cerdric was trapped and unable to move. Lily's ice spear was drawn in front of his neck, leaving him no choice but to surrender.
Lily: (Smiling slightly, cold tone) "Good job, Raka."
Raka: (Smiling back, feeling warmed by the compliment) "Thank you."
With this victory, they moved towards the next safe zone, following the instructions from the bracelets they wore. They knew that the fight was not over, and greater challenges awaited them ahead.
