Mom walked in and gasped at seeing Vyn standing next to me. With Mom and Vyn's secret all exposed to me now, I felt like I had an advantage to do whatever I pleased.
Vyn walked towards the window to leave, "Vyn, stay!" I said. Mom said nothing, and I let out a frustrated sigh before sitting on my bed with my hands covering my face.
"How long do we have to wait for her to get used to her powers?" Vyn asked Mom as I turned my gaze to her.
"A year" Mom's answer struck a chord inside me, "A year? What are my powers all about anyway, is it that difficult to harness?" I asked in curiosity.
Mom paused to look at me. "Well, you were chosen after all. You have the powers of the sea dragon—Aquindall, and the king I murdered years ago—Aldent Peirce sealed the dragon in an unknown place underwater...I had you in my womb at that point, so he transferred Aquindall's powers to you." Mom paused again.
I was stunned and bewildered, all that had happened because of Mom, "I'm sure Peirce hated you so much and had to curse me with Aquindall's powers, I wasn't chosen" I muttered angrily.
Mom went on "Your abilities allow you to control any liquid, but water is where your true potential lies, you have a five-minute foresight ability and have access to the scale shield, you also need to learn how to use the Aquilus swords and learn Aquindall's techniques as well and all this requires, focus, practice and mastery" Mom came to a stop.
"And that's why it's going to take a long time" I concluded.
I looked at Vyn who was staring right back at me, "Do you need to say something?" I asked, he nodded, indicating that nothing was on his mind.
"You'll help me with my powers," I said to Vyn and then turned to Mom, "And you'll help me practice with the Aquilus swords".
