Life and Death Decisions

Adrian grabbed Sophie and the survivors' hands, pulling them toward the rear parking lot exit. The horde of infected was closing in fast, and the screams of the dead grew louder with each passing moment.

"Faster, faster!" Rex urged, firing at the approaching swarm.

Despite their speed, the infected were relentless, pushing through the barricades, closing in from all sides like a flood of monsters from hell.

"We're running out of time!" Adrian growled, glancing over his shoulder as fast-moving "Predators" broke through their line of defense and charged toward them.

"Head right, through the parking lot!" he shouted.

They scattered, but just as they did, Sophie suddenly stopped.

"I… I can't leave them," Sophie said frantically, looking at Adrian with conflicted eyes. "The wounded... they need me!"

"You can't stay!" Adrian pulled her toward him urgently. "We don't have time to debate this. We need to move now!"

But Sophie's gaze was filled with uncertainty. "If I don't do something, they'll die!"

Adrian's heart sank, and the weight of the situation hit him like a tidal wave. He knew they couldn't stop. "We'll come back for them, Sophie," he said firmly, his voice unwavering. "But right now, we all need to survive."

At that moment, the chaos around them escalated, the infected closing in fast.

"Move! Move!" Rex shouted, grabbing Sophie's arm and pulling her along.

Sophie finally nodded, her fight against the situation fading. She tightened her grip on Adrian's hand. "Alright. I trust you."

With a final glance, they rushed toward the parking lot's exit. Adrian looked back one last time at the burning ruins, the undead surging in the chaos, but there was no turning back.

Just as they neared the parking lot, a deafening explosion shook the ground. The entrance to the lot was blown apart, a massive cloud of smoke and fire erupting into the night.

"Something's wrong!" Adrian's eyes widened as the survivors were thrown off balance, falling to the ground in the wake of the explosion.

"What the hell…" Rex muttered, eyes fixed on the fiery chaos.

Through the thick smoke, a figure slowly emerged, silhouetted against the flames. The figure was unclear at first, but the outline suggested it wasn't one of the infected.

"Is that… a person?" Sophie whispered, her eyes narrowing.

As the smoke cleared, Adrian could finally see the person clearly—a man in ragged military gear, carrying heavy equipment on his back. He walked slowly toward them, his face obscured by shadow, but there was a chilling sense of familiarity about him.

"You ready to make a choice?" the man's voice came out gravelly and cold, as though it had been honed by years of survival.

Adrian frowned, tightening his grip on his weapon. "Who are you?"

The man sneered, a twisted smile forming on his lips. "Who I am isn't important. What is important… is that you now have two choices."
