-City Of Light / 24 hour ago
At this moment, ancient characters outlined the altar with the summoning stone as its core. With a flash of brilliant light, many silhouettes appeared on the altar in unison.
"They're here!" Someone said with excitement.
Once the light died down, ten figures appeared on the altar with confused apparent expressions. The room descended into silence for about ten seconds before the Grand Priest spoke up.
"Ahem, Welcome Heroes to the World of Aldnoah. I am the Grand Priest of the Holy Light Order..." The Grand Priest didn't get to finish before he was interrupted by one of the figures.
"Old man, what is this? Did you kidnap us from our world?! You better send us back or there will be nothing but trouble for you!"
The boy who spoke was Ryan, he stood tall and said with a demanding tone filled with threat.
"Son, you were summoned here for a reason. Once you've completed your task of defeating the Void Emperor, we'll send you back home."
"What bullsh** Void Emperor, you want to force us to fight some unknown entities to the death? Are you insane old man, you better send us back or I'll be forced to hurt you."
Garen and Jin were among this group and they couldn't help but show worry. They felt that something was off; this was especially so for Jin. He had read many fantasy novels before, this included the cliche hero summoning type novel.
These people were not something they could trifle with.
Many Monarchs frowned when they heard Ryan's rude tone. Were heroes all this arrogant and rude?
"Brat! Listen closely, you better watch your mouth and comply! Or you can die right here and now!"
Suddenly, a powerful force descended upon Ryan, forcing him to the ground.
'F**k!' Every student's expression changed, what the hell just happened. They had clearly seen a yellowish energy engulf Ryan for a moment before forcing him to the floor.
He simply could not resist.
"W-What is this?!" Ryan broke out into a cold sweat, as the side of his face was planted on the altar.
"Pay attention! You really don't have many options, and I understand you have numerous questions. I know that your world has been struck by this monstrous catastrophe. To free your realm from this disaster, I recommend that you eliminate the Void Emperor. Doing so will not only protect our world but yours as well.."
The 10 students remained silent, but they seemed to be contemplating something.
"Old man, what did you do?! You better stop what you're doing?! Just you wait!" Ryan was furious being humiliated like this.
Everyone was speechless, did this guy not understand that he was outclassed?
"Arg!" Suddenly, the force intensified on Ryan to the point where he felt his bone crackling.
"Kid, I'm warning you, if you speak like that again you're dead." The Grand Priest spoke calmly, but his voice was extremely cold.
"Uh, sir, how may we address you? Do we just call you Grand Priest?" Jin stepped forward and asked.
"You can call me Mars, Grand Priest Mars." The Grand Priest smiled and said. It was unfortunate that he had to resort to fear tactics.
"Okay, sir Mars. About what you said, you said if we destroy this Void Emperor—our world would be liberated from those monsters?"
Mars was silent for a moment before speaking. "Not entirely, but it will reduce the dungeon breaks by at least 70%. Spatial coordinates have already been formed to your world, so you can't stop it entirely."
Mars spoke with an honest expression.
"... ..."
"... ..."
"How are we going to fight? We're not fighters, we're just students and kids." This was the boy who had tried to open the door back then, but was pushed away by Ryan.
His name was Lucas.
Seeing Ryan's face planted on the ground, Lucas was secretly gratified. The Grand Priest noticed his gaze before he quickly freed Ryan from his suppression.
By this point, Ryan had already fainted.
"Clerics, come heal this boy!" Mars had forgotten to uplift his might. Any longer and this boy would have died.
Both Clerics proceeded to heal Ryan of his injuries until he awakened. His face was filled with sweat and his body ached slightly.
In this time, however, Jin had discovered his status panel. He had thought about the system he had seen back then, along with his novel reading experience.
He simply said the word status in his mind and it popped up.
______
_______ Jin smiled and studied his status, he wasn't sure if this was weak or strong. However, judging from his level, it had to be weak. Jin alerted Garen about this and told him what he needed to do. Garen wasn't a big RPG video gamer but he had seen his fair share of isekai anime. 'Status!' Garen thought to himself. ______ _______ 'It's really like a video game!' Garen was shocked. He could actually see his body's physical traits and skills. In the same way as Jin, the second he previewed his status; he felt a surge of information enter his mind. This wasn't all, and just as Galen had seen—they both saw many Skill Trees in their minds for their given Elements and Weapon Mastery. "Alright! We'll be checking your Potential, Skills, and innate talents with these devices." Grand Priest Mars snapped both parties out of their thoughts. "First, you will place your hand on this device. Afterward, it will run a full body scan on you." Mars said and continued, his eyes landing on Jin. "You will be the first to get a check up, so come over and do as I explained." "Uh, right." Jin complied and walked over before placing his hand on the device. There was a handprint outline on it; so it wasn't hard to figure out where he should put his hand. First, the color was red, then orange, then yellow, green, cyan, blue, magenta, Indigo, and finally, it turned into a multicolored glow; like a rainbow. "My gosh!" The Monarchs in the back eyes went wide with excitement. This measurement device could check all forms of talent. In all of their years, they had never seen a multicolored light before. "His rating is 5,000!" Mars was expecting something like this, but upon seeing it with his own eyes, he still stumbled. No one in the world had such high potential. The strongest dragon in history had a rating of 3,000 and no one could surpass that rating. For context, they didn't see levels like Galen and his classmates. The people of this world called them ratings instead of levels. Afterward, the machine checked his skills and their rankings. The device's light turned black-purple, which nearly scared the Priest, but he sighed in relief after seeing purple shimmering into it. If it was completely black, then this meant Jin had Mastery over the Dark Element. Though not known as 'evil' anymore since it was deemed natural. Some Light Affiliated Organizations still frowned upon this element. "Shadow Element of the Nine Star rank, Light Element of the Nine Star rank, Wind Element of the Eight Star rank, Scythe attainment of the Eight Star rank, Enhancer of the Eight Star Rank, and a powerful Eight Star movement skill!" Mars' voice was shaky, these ratings were terrifyingly high. He even had a Life Skill in the form of an Enhancer! "Oh, my gosh! An Enhancer! I want this kid! No one should think about challenging me for him!" Ventamon Bluemann's eyes were filled with longing when he looked at Jin. This instantly gave Jin chills when he saw their eyes. Was this some sort of public auction? An Enhancer could increase the potential of weapons and add Aspects to them. Aspects meant things such as Light Aspect, Fire Aspect, etc...which would give the weapon burning and purification effects. This type of weapon Aspect was especially strong against undead. Such a person could take a junk weapon and turn it into a rare or unique item depending on their attainment! "Bluemann, do you think we're scared of you? So what if we challenge you for this Hero? You think you can say a few words and we'd bend to them?" Jack Baladeer sneered, he would fight tooth and nail for the best Heroes. To Jack, this meant the future of his Empire; he wouldn't easily give it up. "Jack! Are you trying to start a war?!" Bluemann exuded kill aura before standing up and roaring in anger. "Bring it, Bluemann! I'd like to see what the Blackwing Empire is made of!" Jack's expression turned cold, he wasn't one to back down. "Good, very good. I hope you don't regret what you've said today!" The air in the room grew heavy. "This isn't the time for fighting, the world is in danger. To distribute these heroes, you will send warriors to participate in a fighting tournament. The winner will naturally get to choose what two heroes they want." Speaking up to here, Mars suddenly remembered something. "Quick question. Among you, are there any missing people?" Mars asked. The group of summoned students had noticed this long ago and originally didn't plan on telling them. However, they ended up telling them anyway. They informed them that there were only ten of them, but five of them were missing. The kids who were not attending the field trip stayed home, and only 15 people were going on the field trip. Only 10 had appeared here, so 5 were missing from the altar. Everyone listened attentively as one of the students explained. They took note of this in their hearts and were hellbent on finding them. The next person they checked was Garen, who also sparked an uproar. He was an Eight Star Power Forger; this was a step up from Blacksmith! If they could get Jin and Garen, the two together could produce powerful weapons. Some even thought of Legendary and maybe the Myth Grade weapons were possible! The greed they were feeling almost overtook them. They also had high ratings, they felt gratified at this opportunity. Some of the Heroes had a rating of 4,500, which was the lower end of Otherworldly Heroes. These were the less desirable Heroes, but they still stood at the top of this world in potential. "The tournament will begin in a month, so bring your best warriors to fight. The winner will get to choose what two Heroes they want. In the meantime, these Heroes will be given basic training and knowledge in that time." Mars' voice echoed throughout the room. This caused the battle spirit of each Empire to surge. Such an event would also allow each empire to gauge each other's strength. No doubt they'd fight hard for a powerful Hero. 'Sh**! It really is an auction!' Jin's expression darkened. 'Damn it! Galen, where are you?' Garen's expression didn't look so good.
