Charter 30: The Versatility Of The Temple

It was dark inside the temple. The only light source was the rare crystals embedded in the walls, and the light from their emerald shades gave almost no reflection, only slightly illuminating the stone floors and the mysterious statues that stood on the sides.

The space inside was huge, and every step echoed in this huge room.

–What is this place? – Calcium whispered, looking around.

Lian, without answering, continued walking forward, heading towards the center of the temple.

There was a huge stone arch, on which the same mysterious runes were carved. This place was clearly not intended for ordinary people, and Calcium felt that every movement in it brought not only her physical fatigue, but also an unimaginable feeling of abandonment.

–You remember what I said, don't you? – Lian stopped at the archway and turned around. His eyes were full of determination, but also some hidden pain: – This temple hides the key, and you are a part of it.

Calcium felt her tattoo flare up again, and with that, her heart began to beat faster. It seems that her fate was connected not only with this temple, but also with what Lian was ready to reveal. This moment was crucial. But what exactly were they supposed to find?

–What kind of key do you have in mind? – She asked, no longer hiding her concern.

Lian paused before answering.

– Whoever opens this temple will know everything. I've already been here. Once upon a time. But now... this key is being sought by everyone who knows its true power. We are not alone, Calcium.

The warm light coming from her tattoo reflected on the stone walls, and at that moment, the archway door finally opened, inviting them in.

When the door of the arch opened completely, Calcium felt the tension inside her body reach its peak. She looked at Lian, his face remained cool, but his eyes betrayed the anxiety hidden behind a mask of confidence.

– Are you ready? – He asked, his voice almost imperturbable, but there was a subtle hint of concern in it.

She nodded, although she wasn't so sure in her heart. The entrance to the temple promised something more than just an answer to questions. It was something that connected her to this place and to the forces that lurked behind its walls. She could feel it with her whole being. Lian was right. They were not alone in this search.

Inside the temple, the air was heavy, steeped in magic that made her breath hitch slightly. There were traces of long-forgotten times everywhere: runes, ancient scrolls, fragments of statues that could tell the stories of those who came here before them.

But there was one thing that worried her even more – as if something was watching them. An unknown force hidden in the shadows made her heart beat faster.

–We're not alone. – Calcium whispered these words to herself, but even Lian noticed her tension, everywhere the girl went, she was constantly being watched.

–You feel it, don't you? – He turned to her with a slight frown.

She nodded. Fear was invisibly in the air, and the further they walked, the stronger her anxiety became.

Passing through the hall, they reached the central part of the temple. There was a large column surrounded by ancient artifacts. Some of them seemed to be activated, emitting a faint blue glow.

It was a place of power, and every movement around the column seemed not just an ordinary step, but part of some kind of large magical mosaic, disintegrating and reassembling.

–Here. – Lian whispered, and his gaze became focused again: – We need to activate this mechanism. It will open the way to the knowledge that I need to find. You do understand that this is important, don't you, Calcium?

- Yes. – She said it calmly, but there were hundreds of questions inside her. Why her? Why this temple, why Lian? What does this mysterious knowledge mean, what is he looking for?

She moved closer to the pillar and noticed her palm reaching for the tattoo again. The dark blue light coming from her reflected in the polished surfaces of the artifacts, and suddenly Calcium felt the magic of the temple wrapping around her. Her tattoo pulsed with every step she took.

–Are you ready? – Lian turned back to her, and there was intense determination in his voice.

She nodded, not knowing exactly what lay ahead, but she couldn't stop herself. Everything was connected–her abilities, her journey, her encounters with people and forces that began to haunt her.

When she put her hand on the pillar, a flood of magic instantly engulfed her, like a giant wave that overwhelmed her. The tattoo on her palm flashed with a bright blue light, and her inner world was engulfed by a bright flash.

Her eyes closed from the brightness, and at that moment, Calcium felt a wave of magic literally dissolve her, penetrating into her soul and into her very being. With every passing moment, she was sinking deeper into this world of mysteries and ancient power, feeling her consciousness expand.

And so, like a huge luminous veil, a new story opened up in front of her. There were visions in it – scenes from the lives of people and creatures that were associated with this temple. Her tattoo seemed to absorb them into itself, like an empty vessel, being filled with the powers and knowledge that were hidden in these ancient stones.

–The recording...– Calcium whispered softly. Her voice was weak, but everything around her was filled with a new meaning.

Her eyes widened when she saw a picture in front of her that made her heart beat faster.

"The Secret of Stolen Knowledge" was more than just a story. This was the key to understanding her connection to this place. And now she knew she couldn't have stopped. Like Lian, she was part of that journey.

But with it came something disturbing. The darkness they were looking for knew about them. It wasn't just a quest, it was the beginning of the end for something much bigger than they could have imagined.

The tattoo on her palm spread like wings, ready to spread and fly towards the unknown.

Calcium felt her body being filled with energy, as the magic rising from the depths of the temple penetrated into her every cell, every thought. It was a moment when she couldn't go back. She was already too close to unraveling what lay ahead.

The tattoo on her palm continued to glow brightly, its color changing, as if the blue glow followed some invisible harmony. Fragments of information, fragments of stories that defied logical explanation, were mixed up in her head.

These stories were real, or maybe they weren't. They concerned people, magic, and dark secrets hidden deep in the bowels of this temple.

"What if?..." – she thought, trying to realize how every thread of this story was intertwined with her own path.
