Charter: Neglecteds

Calcium felt a slight shock when a new vision appeared in front of her. At that moment, it was as if the boundaries of reality shifted, and she saw the other side of the temple—dark and sealed.

But there were figures in that darkness, dark and indeterminate. They didn't move, but their presence felt like heavy breathing. They were guards carrying ancient power that had not been used for a long time.

But what caught her attention the most were the words that appeared in her mind, as if written on an invisible scroll:

"Not all the secrets of this temple can be solved. Those who disturb the peace will become part of the fate of this place."

She felt her heart skip a beat at that phrase. Her gaze darted to Lian, who was standing a little to the side, intently watching her actions. He seemed to sense the tension in the air too.

–I think it's a horror. – She asked, trying to hide the alarm in her voice.

Lian sighed, his eyes were serious, and for a moment she saw a shadow in them that she hadn't noticed until now.

– It's not just a temple, Calcium. It's not a place that you can just explore. The knowledge that can destroy us is stored here. Maybe even change us.

Calcium felt a mysterious force envelop her mind again. Her hands were shaking, but she couldn't afford to be weak. She was ready to go all the way.

–Knowledge...– She said softly, almost losing confidence in what she was about to learn: – What are you looking for in this temple? Why did you bring me here?

Lian was silent. A spark flashed in his eyes, but he immediately stealthily averted his gaze, as if afraid to reveal himself.

–Not now, Calcium. You're not ready to know yet. – His words sounded firm, but there was a certain fear hidden in them.

This further piqued her curiosity. Why is he so wary? What secret is this temple hiding? What should he hide? After all, they were both here for knowledge, for a solution that promised something more.

She knew that if she stayed here and continued on her way, her fate would not be the same. This place was a test that was about to take away something important from her. And yet, not knowing what awaited her, she continued to move forward.

Lian fell silent, and Calcius took a step towards the large doorway leading into the even darker depths of the temple.

Here in this desolate place, her abilities grew with every step. She could feel her palm tattoo getting more and more powerful. It was unclear who or which of these dark corners of the temple would greet them, but Calcium sensed that it would not be easy.

She closed her eyes for a moment and sighed. "I'm ready," she told herself mentally.

She was ready.

The light emanating from her tattoo was increasingly diffused into the darkness of the temple, like a beacon that led her through this unknown darkness. Calcium knew that there were answers waiting for her. But at what cost?

Lian followed without saying a word. But his presence next to her spoke volumes. This was a man who was also looking for his goal. But what happens if they discover what is hidden inside this temple?

Calcium slowly entered the darkened hall, each step echoing loudly. The air here was steeped in ancient magic, and the walls, covered with incomprehensible writings, seemed to whisper forgotten words. Lian walked behind her, tense but silent.

The tattoo on her palm flashed with a faint blue light. She felt a slight vibration run through her body. At that moment, the lines appeared in front of her eyes again:

[Quest activated: "The Secret of Stolen Knowledge."]

[The assignment is combined with the current one: "Temple of the Forgotten Name."]

Calcium frowned. This meant that the two strands of fate were intertwined, and now their paths with Lian were connected by a common goal. But what was this temple hiding?

– Lian. – She said softly, without taking her eyes off the ancient symbols on the walls: – Do you know what this place is?

The man stopped for a moment, then slowly said:

– This is the temple of the Forgotten. Knowledge that has been erased from history is stored here. But not just like that. They were hidden... because they can destroy the world.

There was a mixture of fear and determination in his voice. Calcium felt a chill down her spine.

–And we're going there?

Lian grinned, but there was something unsettling in his eyes.

–Isn't that why you're here?

She was silent. Yes, she was drawn to clues, to history, to the power that could change her life. But what if this knowledge was cursed?

Her palm warmed up again, and a new line flashed before her eyes:

[Warning!!]

[Lian's object is an unstable fate.]

[High risk of irreversible changes.]

Calcium felt a surge of unease inside her. So if she continued... if they went deeper into this temple, Lian's fate might change forever.

She looked at him. Would he know that? Or is it better to keep quiet?

Calcium bit her lip, thinking. Remembering the vision where she talked to the last Tattoo Artist of Stories, in the city of El Mora, she was seized with a strange premonition. Then the system mentioned a tablet hidden somewhere in this world, perhaps even here, in the depths of this temple.

"If this is really the tablet... I need to find it."

Her fingers curled into a fist, and she took a deeper breath of the cold, stagnant air of the ancient place. It was impossible to retreat. Out of the corner of her eye, the girl looked at Lian. He was standing in semi-darkness, and shadows fell strangely on his face, hiding the expression in his eyes.

"Maybe Lian is a bad guy."

This thought suddenly flashed in her mind like a spark. She didn't know where this suspicion came from–because of its mystery, because the system called his fate unstable, or because he knew more about this temple than he was saying.

"But if he's really dangerous... why did the system bring us together? I hope he won't bury me in the depths of the temple?"

She couldn't understand. But she knew one thing for sure: now Lian was her guide to this temple, her only thread in this tangled tangle of secrets. For now, she would trust him. At least until he figures out who he really is.

– Lian. – She said, looking deep into the dark corridor in front of them:– I think there is something important for me here. I have to find out what it is.

He looked at her intently, as if trying to read something in her eyes.

–Then let's go. But remember, Calcium...–His voice became quieter, almost a whisper: –Some knowledge is too expensive.

Calcium squeezed her palm, where her tattoo glowed, and stepped forward.
