Blood and Conquest

Chapter 22: Blood and Conquest

Lucian stood in the dimly lit corridor, the air thick with tension. The bunker's survivors were armed and waiting, but that only made the hunt more thrilling.

Evelyn gripped her knife tightly, her breathing steady but sharp.

"We move fast," Lucian whispered. "No mercy."

She nodded. There was no room for hesitation.

And then—he attacked.

Unleashing the Monster

Lucian vanished in a blur, his inhuman speed leaving only a faint gust of wind.

The first enemy barely had time to scream before Lucian's blade ripped through his throat. Blood sprayed against the cold bunker walls.

"FIRE!" someone shouted.

Gunfire erupted, but Lucian weaved through the bullets like a ghost.

Two more men fell.

Another enemy tried to raise his rifle, but Evelyn was faster.

Her knife buried into his chest, twisting until his breath faded.

Lucian's lips curled into a wicked grin.

They were winning.

The Last Stand

They pushed deeper into the bunker, clearing room after room. Survivors begged for mercy, but Lucian had no sympathy. Only the strong deserved to live.

Finally, they reached the command center. The bunker leader—a grizzled man named Carter—stood waiting.

He was the last obstacle.

"You don't have to do this," Carter said, gripping his shotgun.

Lucian laughed coldly. "I already have."

In a blink, he moved.

Carter fired—but Lucian was faster.

He dodged, grabbed the man's wrist, and snapped it.

The shotgun hit the floor. Carter's scream was cut short as Lucian's blade slashed across his throat.

The battle was over.

The bunker was his.

A New Beginning

Lucian stood over Carter's corpse, his eyes glowing crimson.

Evelyn wiped blood from her face. "What now?"

Lucian smirked.

"Now, we build an empire."
