Chapter 50
POV: Frag
"Urg, fuck!!!"
I howled in pain, gasping for breath. The pain was unbearable.
Then, while I was distracted by it, one of the bandits suddenly kicked me in the face. I collapsed. The impact itself didn't hurt—but the searing flames stopped me from retaliating.
"Bastards,"
I hissed as I looked at the one who'd kicked me. That smug look on his filthy face filled me with anger.
And just as he raised his weapon to strike me down, my anger blinded me to the pain. I stood up—unnaturally fast—while still laying down.
My sudden rise caught the bandit off guard. In a flash, I struck his face with my burning fist. With a surge of strength, his skull burst—blood sprayed through the air. But before the blood could even land, the flames consumed it mid-air. His headless body ignited, a pillar of fire.
"Huuu... huuuuu..."
I breathed hard, staring at the burning corpse of that filth.
*Spit*
"Scum."
I snarled. Then my eyes caught sight of my men, fighting desperately against the bandits. Seeing them stand their ground filled me with pride—fighting without fear against overwhelming odds, their courage undeniable.
But watching some of them fall filled me with rage. I'd seen comrades die before—but these men were different. I was their Commander. I had chosen them from all the others. I trained them. I understood them—and they understood me. They were my brothers.
Now, seeing my brothers die one by one, my mind went quiet. The flames on my arms stopped spreading and settled at my shoulders—burning brighter, though I didn't notice.
I ran toward the bandits, my speed increasing. I reached one of them, my fist glowing so hot the air shimmered around it. I struck—his body combusted, and the blast of flame shot forward, engulfing more bandits in its path.
But I barely processed what had happened. Rage consumed my mind. I had one thought: kill them. Kill all of them.
My body moved on its own. I turned to the remaining bandits. They stared at me in fear—but even in my blind fury, I could feel my men's gaze behind me.
Their gaze of respect.
That gaze fueled me. The flames flared even hotter. My speed surged. As I ran, my boots caught fire, melting the ground beneath me. I became a blur. The only sign of where I'd been were the molten footprints I left behind, as the number of dead bandits rose.
Soon, the wall was almost cleared of them.
But my rage still burned. Just as a lone bandit climbed to his feet, I charged and kicked him—launching him off the wall, with myself following. His body ignited as my blazing foot made contact.
Mid-air, I used his burning corpse as a platform, pushing off unnaturally as I twisted my body. I looked down at the other bandits still climbing the walls—and the swarms below.
My rage deepened.
I extended my burning arms toward the ladders and hooks fastened to the wall. Aiming, I roared:
"RARGFgggggggg!!"
A torrent of flames erupted, instantly melting anything they touched—hooks, ladders, ropes. A section of the wall itself nearly gave way.
Agonized screams rose from below as I finally fell, landing alongside the charred bandit I'd stood on.
I looked up—bandits surrounded me, paralyzed with fear.
I didn't wait. I lunged at one, my blazing kick cleaving him in half.
And so the massacre began.

"Oh? That's odd. Is luck on my side today?"
I asked aloud, though I didn't believe in luck. At least... the real me didn't. But inhabiting this human body muddled my thoughts sometimes.
Still, I didn't want to dwell on it. Those were old thoughts. I wanted new ones. New discoveries. Like this curious little human below.
"Fascinating. Control of flames... without using the warp. Huhu."
I chuckled, watching the man below as he fought amidst the terrified bandits. But my amusement faded into disappointment.
"Ah, bother. It's still incomplete. His physical body is still harmed by his own flames. How unoriginal."
I propped my head on my hand, my blue eyes scanning the star within his body.
"Tsk. The star has stopped spreading. Its growth is currently hindered."
I scratched my head in annoyance, but my smile remained as I chuckled.
"Well. Might as well go back to waiting. I'm already used to this anyway."
I kept watching the man below, then sighed and muttered under my breath:
"Man, I'm lonely."
