Chapter 2

Ayla felt humiliated and beyond defeated, she made it back to the bar. She sat by the bar and asked for shots.

She chugged shot, after shot, it burnt her but it was better than feeling fully what she felt right now.

Ayla took out her phone and dialed Derrick, no this was a dream and maybe if he heard her voice, he would change his mind.

No answer, and when she tried for the fifth time, he blocked her. Just like that, she thought, he did not care.

He had discarded her like trash, and now she did not know what to do. She had planned her life around him.

There was no marriage, no building their life together, all the plans were out the window.

She was still young, but why did it feel like she had lived through ten lifetimes and a truck had run her over?

It felt like a nightmare but she was not waking up, she felt woozy and paid for the alcohol.

They were closing, so what other choice did she have? If it were up to her, she would sleep here so that she could forget.

She wobbled outside and the air bit into her, it wasn't as bad as the damage that Derrick had done to her.

She felt droplets land on her, this night was complete, utter shit, a car stopped by her and the driver came out, and gave the keys to another person.

The droplets were too cold on her, so she climbed in the passenger side. Oh yeah, she probably got a chauffeur.

"Take me home directly."

"This is not your car."

Ayla was shocked, what? This was not hers? "Whose car is this the….n?"

"Xavier."

Had she walked? Whatever, that was not important right now, "Ahhhhh......….more men….great…dump me too, I guess. Can't get any worse than this."

"Who should I call to fetch you?" The guy replied impatiently, and it seemed as if she was grating on his last nerves.

She sighed, "I woul….d say Derrick but he dumped me, so right now when I'm pathetic I can't..."

"Okay, that is not any of my concern, get out of my car."

Ayla was angry at the tone in which everyone was talking to her in, "What….woulllld you do if I said no? Tell me. You think that I'm going to comply with whatever you are asking me?"

 "I'm driving off."

"You think that I'm afraid, Let's go Cavier."

 "Xavier."

 "That's what I said."

"Where would you like me to drop you off?"

Ayla wanted to be spontaneous, and tonight she was rich too. The beach sounded nice right now. "I have a beach house in Lexington."

He nodded, and they made their way, the wind, how free she felt. She screamed.

"We are here, get out."

She looked around confused, "Why are we here?"

"You said you lived here."

"Me?" she slurred out.

He seemed to be exasperated, "You just told me that."

"I don't get why you are being shitty to me? Why is everyone being shitty to me?"

"Listen, you jumped into my car and I did you a favor by dropping you off at your imaginary house."

"Don't make fun of me."

"Get out."

"I can't, where will I go? I'm alone."

"Surely you have someone besides the guy who dumped you."

"How did you know that?"

He groaned, "You need to stop drinking."

Why was he talking like Derrick, in a condescending tone that she did not like. "Why? Drink or drown."

"You're doing both right now."

"I can tell…..oh wait, no I meant, I'm drowning….no I mean drinking."

"This is not going anywhere."

"That is what Derrick said to me! The evil bastard said that, after all that I have done for him."

"You will be grateful he did this, you don't have to carry on with lies."

"No, you don't get it."

"I don't want to."

"Why not?"

"This was not on my cards, being stuck with a heartbroken stranger."

She giggled, "It's a bit spontaneous, right?"

"If that's what you want to call it."

"You know Derrick?"

"I don't know him?"

"Are you lying to me, too?"

"Why would I?"

"I don't trust you."

"How can you, when you don't know me?"

"You have a good point there. Who are you?"

"Xavier."

"Why are you like that?"

"Like what?"

"I mean, you and Derrick, I could swear you two are twins in the spiritual realm."

He shook his head and sighed, "This Derrick guy needs to come fetch you. I'm paying for his sins."

"You see, you don't care about how that would make me feel."

"Why should I care?"

She was shocked, "What cruel words, what is wrong with you men?"

"Nothing is wrong, you are talking to the wrong one."

"No Cavier, you are the right now."
