Chapter 8

His face showed utter disbelief, which was repulsive.

I wanted to say more, but at that moment, a pair of long, slender legs appeared.

They delivered a vicious kick straight to Ivo's abdomen.

The kick must have been powerful, otherwise Ivo wouldn't have flown back a meter.

I looked up and said, "Eliot, why are you back?"

Eliot grinned and responded to me with a smile.

"Because I sensed you were in danger."

Meanwhile, Ivo struggled to his feet, stumbling several times before finally managing to stand steady.

He glared fiercely at Eliot.

"I've tolerated you for a long time. Who are you? Let go of Scarlett, she doesn't want this! What you're doing is kidnapping. I can call the cops on you!"

At this point, Eliot instinctively shielded me behind him.

Looking at his broad back.

I couldn't help but recall that time in middle school when I, rebellious and unruly, was cornered by thugs in an alley, and Eliot, just like now, shielded me from everything.
