Chapter 8
Together with the sounding trumpets, a few people exited from the school building. As they walked down the stairs, one could percieve their appearance.
At the back, a man with black, disheveled hair and dark eyebags. His clothes wrinkled and in dark colour. The man's posture was crooked and sloppy, giving no care about his outer appearance. His black eyes showed no interest what so ever. This man was known as Professor Fessus, the black magic head instructor.
Infront of Professor Fessus, a man with gray hair, glasses and wrinkles. His age was written all over his face. He wore a brown, knitted pullover and smoke-brunette pants. His arms behind his back. This was Professor Doolittle, the wind magic head instructor.
Next to him, a middle aged man with brown hair, a brown full-beard and plain black clothes walked with a strong demeanor. His clothes stretching with his moving muscles. This was Professor Fortis, the earth magic head instructor.
Walking infront of Professor Doolittle and Fortis, was a young woman. She had blue hair, bound into two braids. She was standing at about 1.60m tall, and looked no older than 13. Her clothes were white, with a blue pattern. Her every step was taken with a happy smile. This was the water magic head instructor.
Next to the woman standing in front, an elderly nun walked with a cross around her neck. Her hands were folded, her fingers intertwined. She wore a fulfilled smile on her face. This was Professor Seelig, the holy magic head instructor.
Lastly, the woman at the head. Her fiery red hair waved in the wind. She was sparly clothed by a red bloose and and short brown, leather pants. With every step, her intimidating and strict grimace grew the test takers more and more nervous. This was the head instructor in light and fire magic, Professor Moonlith, who is also known as the warlord of the western battlefield.
The specific magicules were rushing around each of them, creatubg a constant vortex.
After walking down the stairs from the school entrance, they were standing on top of a podest. After waiting for the students to quiet down, Professor Moonlith started to talk.
"Listen close you maggots! If you think that getting accepted to the school will be the hardest part, then you are mistaken! The real work will start when you get accepted, if you aren't ready by then, then you'll be stomped in the fucking ground for wasting our precious time!" Professor Moonlith started the speech, that crumbled the morale of all the young people.
"Thanks to Ms. Moonlith for starting this wonderful speech and introduction.", Professor Seelig took the lead. "The test will start with the instructors guiding mana through you. Then there will be the academical test and at last the practical test, in which you will be tested in combat strength. Please go to the instructor you were previously assigned to, so we can start the test."
Meanwhile, Julian was standing baffled because of Moonlith's demeanor. 'What the?' He then remembered what Lucia told him back at the village. 'She will let me in?'
Not knowing how to react, Julian just went along with it and grouped up with Ms. Moonlith's group. After grouping up, Professor Moonlith started walking to the back of the school building, while the remaining teachers also did the same. After arriving behind the school building, Moonlith stopped and spoke up. "Listen up you damn fuckers! Through this test, you will be supervised by the school's staff, so don't even think about cheating!" They were staning in a half-circle around Ms. Moonlith. Behind each student, there was at least one, grim-looking, staff overlooking their every movement.
"Now, one of you will come forward and sit down before me, so I can start guiding mana through your body! Don't worry, it won't hurt, but if I can't lead it through because of any reason, you'll immidiately fail like the failures you are! Understood?" "YES" The test takers shouted in unision.
'What is this? The military?'
Professor Moonlith looked at her first victim. The young man, knowing that he had to go first, reluctantly went ahead and sat infront of Ms. Moonlith.
Both sat in a lotus position, the instructor facing the tester and the tester facing away from her. The boy sitting there was in really expensive clothes for common footfolk.
Professor Moonlith lifted her hands, putting them softly on his back. The boy, not older than 14, wore a normal expression. Until suddenly, his face went pale and broke out in cold sweat. Julian watched as the Professor guided her Mana along his blood paths. It was a really rough movement, and the mana seemed to get stuck every now and then.
'This small amount of Mana is already getting stuck? Well, it isn't damaging any blood vessels... What if it is suspiciuos that I can get large quantities through my body without breaking a sweat?...' Julian thught of many ways to thin out his blood vessels, but he couldn't come up with a practical way to do them.
The Mana from the instructor was halfway through the boys body, but his body showed dozens of signs of weakening. With a last impulse of mana, the boy vomited a mix of blood and stomach acid. The remaining participants were already scared out of their bones before the test started, but now they were on the verge of shitting their pants.
The instructor looked at the next participant who obediently went infront of Ms. Moonlith. The vomit from the previous tester had already been burned to dust by her.
This process went on for another half an hour, before it was Julian's turn. Only 49 out of 132 participants had passed the first test with many difficulties, once again showing the ruthlessness of this school. Julian sat infront of the head instructor, the nervousness in his eyes barely showing.
"I will now begin..." Ms. Moonlith put her hands on his back and started guiding her mana through his body.
'??? What is this? Why can I guide my mana through him so easily? There is no resistance at all!', the instructor was shaken by this turn of events. 'Could it be that my mana is already exhausted? No, that shouldn't be.' Although she excluded that conclusion, she still wanted to check how much mana she was guiding through him. To her surprise, it was the exact same amount as when she guided it through the others.
'Tsk, this fucker. He must have stretched his mana pathways through some drugs! I will show him what cheating gets him!' With that thought, she instantly doubled the mana output, while also speeding the process up. In the blink of an eye, she reached Julian's heart.
Julian was still having no problem with the amount of mana. But when she reached his heart he felt a small amount of pleasure. His inspected his body and noticed that his mana circle was expanding. The mana she put in him stretched his mana core slightly, although it didn't fill the space it stretched, it still helped expanding it.
'Fuck! Why is my mana getting absorbed slightly when it passes his heart! He doesn't even have a mana circle!' Julian didn't know at that time, but his soul covered his mana circle, completely hiding it from the gazes of nosy people.
'This bastard thinks he can make a fool out of me? I will fuck him up!' The Professor increased her output of mana by tenfold, wanting to cripple Julian.
Julian who was previously under a light pleasure, fell into a state of agony. With the push of her hand a huge amount of mana was being guided through his body. The amount was even larger than what the Major Beast Crystal contained.
"MPFF" Julian let out a muffled scream, biting his lips. 'FUCK! This bitch is crazy!' Julian was in pain everywhere the mana went. It was at least double as much as he had imbued in his mana circle. The bloodvessels around the Mana immediately imploded and ruptures appeared on his skin. Julian, who was familiar with what was happening, slowed down time and started regenerating the destroyed cells.
'Hehe, this amount should be enough to completely rip him apart without an issue! No drug can withstand this amount of inner pressure. After another minute, she was interrupted by a voice behind her. "Uhm? Ms. Moonlith? The test should be over by now.", one of the instructors asked her.
"Huh? Oh, yeah right!", she quickly stopped infusing Julian with her mana. "Ehem! We will now move on to the next test! Follow me!" Without another word, she hurried away from the scene.
Julian got up with his knees still shaking and walked after her. "Hah, this weakling just barely made it! If you ask me, they should just fail him!" "Yeah, I know, right?" "..." The other remaining participants whispered around him, disrespecting him.
Although slightly annoyed, he just let it enter one ear and exit the other.
From the rooftop of the school building, a man looked down with a grin, before disappearing like the wind.

The group arrived on a sports field out of white marble, showing off the wealth of the school.
"We will now begin with the practical test! You may pick one weapon from the weaponrack and fight an instructor of your choice!" Professor Moonlight explained after they arrived at the training grounds.
The participants went to pick a weapon from the weapon rack. Some of them picked the spear or bow, while most of them picked a sword. Julian who hadn't used any of these weapons previously, just picked the sword since it seemed to be the easiest to handle.e immidiately noticed the weight of the blade. It was at least double as much as the scythe, and it was just a one-handed sword.
The participants had a hard time carrying the sword and spears, even the bows seemed to be heavier than normal.
"These weapons are the more lightweighted of the academy's weaponry. They are made of a special, robust metal, created by the dwarves. But because of their denseness, they naturally weigh more. Each one of them weighs about 10 kilograms." Ms. Moonlith explained with a grin.
But her grin quickly turned into a unsatisfied expression. One of the participants easily slashed around in the air, without any problems in wielding their weapon. This participant was Julian. Although it put some stress on his muscles, it wasn't too bad.
One by one, the participants chose their opponent. Julian also chose, and picked an old man on the outer most right, standing nearest to Ms. Moonlith.
He had a big scar on his face and a grim look. When Julian looked at the amount of Mana in each of the instructrors, he had the largest quantities after Professor Moonlith. In Julian's eyes, this man seemed to be the most experienced fighter of the bunch.
After everyone had picked their opponent, they went to their own spot in the training field. The training field was about as big as a football/soccer field, so one had enough space for their fight without disturbing another.
"Ready...! Set...! GO!"
Everyone in the training field started fighting, while Professor Moonlith and some remaining instructors watched.
