Convergence

Here's the next part of the scene as

His touch was almost too much to bear—so tender, yet so commanding. Vexaria stood frozen, her breath shallow, her heart pounding erratically in her chest. The words she wanted to say seemed to slip away, lost in the storm swirling between them. There was no escape from this, from him, and for the first time, part of her didn't want one.

"You're not a game," Xypheron murmured, his thumb tracing the line of her jaw with agonizing slowness. His eyes were dark, intense, but there was something softer in the way he looked at her now—something that made her stomach flip in a way she didn't understand. "But I can't stop wanting you. The raw honesty in his words shook her to the core. She wanted to deny it, to push him away and hold onto the walls she had built for so long. But the truth was, she didn't want to fight him anymore. She didn't want to fight this anymore.

Before she could stop herself, she leaned into his touch, her lips meeting his once again, but this time, there was no hesitation. The
