Rashmi stood up to ask her question.
Jeet could see the weapons drawn...
Game on king said her stance.
" I believe you are an atheist ", she asked.
" That's correct", he said.
" Also law and order is one of your government's policies", she asked.
" On point Ms. Sharma".
" And you value traditions", she said.
" I do".
" Then what are your views on relationships. Friendships and marriages. Do you take a traditional view point. I mean the view point of epics which honours the importance of righteousness and term Karna with a wrong friend as wrong or a more modern view point. And do you think experiments out of the marriage are wrong? What is your view point on live in relationships"?
SHE SMIRKED AS SHE SAW HIM TURN SERIOUS.
Two faced liar she thought. Now answer.
Guru shook his head.
Provoking the lion
That is what she was doing. His PR team was worried. They knew about the shades of grey in which he forays.
Jeet looked at his queen. His heart filled with emotions. His reactions to her were an anomaly in itself. Right from the day they met.
" I stand by my answers Ms. Sharma", he replied.
" Friendship is a gift which we choose ourself. Its true Karna stands on wrong side of history but he still is hailed as a true friend. I believe in our epics even though I am an atheist because rather than forcing you to worship God they allow you to ask questions. Different paths and choices exist. Its my karma or work which allows me to choose one. AND EVERYONE KNOWS I AM A MAN OF ACTION.".
He halted.
" Also I believe in commitment. The commitment of heart and soul. I respect my partner as my equal. I love her. I will stand by her in sickness and health, rags and riches. And truth that binds me and her forever. Be it my wife or girlfriend or live in partner. When I commit its forever."
She was lost. In him, his words and his eyes. Their chemistry was so powerful now the entire crowd could feel it.
" That's enough questions for today", declared his PR manager. The bubble broke.
As the media asked him to pose for photographs he said.
" Just a small request. A personal one I am afraid. As me and my wife have now finished our duties towards our profession I would like her to join me for photographs. Because without her I am incompleete."
To the sound of all press personnels clapping Rash joined Jeet on stage. Hugging her lightly he mouthed,
" I love you".
She blushed and the couple smiled for photographs. This was how every press conference ended. With her by his side. And both of them lost to the world.
Of course she left with him. He would never allow her to leave alone.
As the partions came down in mercedes Jeet turned to her.
" I know you are angry", he said.
" It does not even start to cover what I am feeling", she hissed.
" You are a dead man", chuckled Guru.
" Sorry ", said Jeet.
" Where are you taking me", she queried.
" Hospital", he replied.
She sobered up.
" How is he", she was worried.
" Stable", said Guru.
Within next 15 minutes they were at the hospital. They took the elevator to reach the top floor.
As they were marching towards a room she saw two people coming out of it.
Looking at them she narrowed her eyes.
" YOU", She screamed.
" Hush your highness", smirked Zeeshu.
" Your high shrills could be fatal for heart patients. You bet I have a weak one too".
" Listen you pest. You could arrange your timings so that I don't get to see your criminal face", she hissed.
Zeeshan loved to banter with her. He was about to reply but Jeet was not in mood.
" Zeeshan leave", ordered Ranjeet.
" As you say sir". He saluted and left.
" Sorry", Jeet sighed again.
Rash slammed him with her shoulders and went in.
A man of abot 60 was sitting in his bed. He looked weak but was tall and carried an air of authority.
" Daddy", Rash hugged him.
" Rashmi". Devendra Oberoi's face lit up.
Devendra Oberoi
60 years.
Ranjeet's father
" How do you feel", asked Rash.
" I am still alive", he smirked.
" Shiva you are vile", she said. " You joke about a heart attack".
" People come and go Rash. Life goes on child", he said.
" I am not allowing you to go", she said with authority.
" One look at our fighter and angels of death will run away", came a voice. It was Shaun.
She sulked as he took Dev's vitals.
" Rash a word", he signalled towards Jeet.
She knew he was asking ro leave Jeet and Dev alone. Their relation was not a loving one like father and son. It was more formal. Like colleagues or .. she could not put a word on it.
She nodded as the three of them left.
" You are ahead in polls", said Dev.
" So the stats say", said Raj.
" I am sorry you have to do this", he said.
" Its not a chore", Jeet replied.
" You don't have to do this. I don't blame you for what happened", said Dev.
" As usual our views differ on this matter", he said.
" So Adhiraj got this other girl as his daughter in law", said Dev. " I wonder what's next".
" She is a means to the end", Jeet was calm.
Dev sighed. He knew the bubbling volcano inside him.
" I hope that this race and fight to rule the city ends", he said.
" Not until I rule it", Jeet's eyes hardened.
" I hope you let go of this and be happy with Rash. She is a gem. Move on in your life. Have kids."
" A life was lost daddy. An innocent life. AND DRAGON WAS RESPONSIBLE. If you think I would let it go then you don't know me. Each one of them is going down. And no one will stop me".
Dev shuddered thinking of the destruction which the clash of these two would cause
.It was inevitable .
As they were returning from hospital Rash dropped a bomb.
" I want you to leave me at Papa's. We are no longer suited for each other. Its better to separate. Of course we will be together till state elections. I know its important for you. Later I'll give you a quick divorce."
" WHAT DID YOU SAY", Jeet spoke with chattering teeth.
Rash replied calmly,
" Don't be surprised", she said. " We don't have time for each other. You are too busy. And I can do with peace of mind. I took up a course in London. And I am flying out a week later. "
" Fighter don't provoke the lion", said Shaun.
It was too late.
" OUT BOTH OF YOU NOW", said Jeet.
And of course when king orders other follows. They went away in a separate vehicle.
" Aashiyana now", he ordered the driver.
" Jeet this show of your ego is pointless. I suggest that..".
" You talk too much. Its about time you shut up", he said.
Then he slammed his lips on hers and her moans were the only sound that followed.
The car was racing towards their home now.
