"Sir, your match has been successfully arranged. Once the match is confirmed, the announcement will be broadcast throughout the hall, informing you and your opponent of the relevant arena and match details," the female attendant explained.

As soon as she finished speaking, a broadcast-like voice echoed through the hall.

"Spirit Master duel: [Name] versus [Name], please proceed to the entrance of Arena 3. The match will begin in ten minutes."

"Sir, that's how the announcement will sound," the attendant reminded Lin Yongming.

"I understand. Thank you for the explanation," Lin Yongming replied with a slight smile.

"You're welcome. It's my duty to assist first-time visitors," the attendant said politely.

The interior of the Great Spirit Arena was circular, with the battle platforms located at the center and a circular walkway surrounding them. Spectators sat along the edges, cheering loudly for the ongoing matches.

"Xiao Ming, I just read through the manual," Lan Yinhuang said, holding the booklet.

"What does it say, Ah Yin?" Lin Yongming asked, listening attentively.

"The spirit fighter badge system is divided into eight ranks: Iron, Copper, Silver, Gold, Purple Gold, Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond. Advancement is based on a points system. You earn one point for a win and lose one point for a defeat. However, if you win consecutively, your points will accumulate faster. Additionally, defeating an opponent with higher points will earn you more points, while defeating someone with fewer points will earn you less," Lan Yinhuang explained, reading from the manual.

"That makes sense. It's a fair system for competitive matches. Besides, I'm here to gain real combat experience. As long as I have opponents, winning or losing points isn't my main concern," Lin Yongming replied with a nod.

"There are three types of matches: Sparring Matches, where friendly duels are allowed, but killing is prohibited; Life-and-Death Duels, which are used to settle irreconcilable disputes; and Gambling Matches, where the Great Spirit Arena acts as the referee, and both sides send out an equal number of Spirit Masters to compete. The winner takes all. Gambling Matches are essentially a variation of Life-and-Death Duels."

"So, our matches will be Sparring Matches. Remember, no killing. Being able to control your spirit power precisely is also a way to improve your strength," Lan Yinhuang reminded him, closing the manual.

"Got it. I'm here to train, not to kill," Lin Yongming said, understanding the three types of matches. He had no intention of jumping into Life-and-Death Duels or Gambling Matches right away.

"One more important thing: In one-on-one matches, you can only participate once a day," Lan Yinhuang added.

"Once a day?" Lin Yongming was slightly taken aback.

"Yes, but you can also participate in other formats, like two-on-two or team battles. Each format is limited to one match per day."

"In other words, if you want to continue after your one-on-one match, you'll need to find a partner for a two-on-two match," Lan Yinhuang explained further.

"I see," Lin Yongming said, feeling a bit helpless.

"Xiao Ming, should I register as a Spirit Fighter too and team up with you?" Lan Yinhuang offered, noticing his disappointment.

"No, Ah Yin, once a day is fine," Lin Yongming quickly declined.

The Great Spirit Arena was a place filled with all sorts of people. Who knew if there were Spirit Douluo-level experts hidden among the crowd? Even the arena's management likely had at least Spirit Sage-level power to maintain order in such a massive facility.

"Does Xiao Ming suspect my identity? Why does he get so nervous whenever I bring this up? Maybe he's just worried I'll get hurt," Lan Yinhuang thought to herself, noticing Lin Yongming's slight tension.

Spirit Elder Match Announcement

"Spirit Elder Sparring Match: 33rd-level Spirit Elder 'Ashura' versus 36th-level Spirit Elder 'Zhao Wuji.' Please proceed to the entrance of Arena 2. The match will begin in ten minutes."

The announcement echoed through the hall, calling Lin Yongming by his alias, Ashura.

"Xiao Ming, it's your turn. Your opponent is a 36th-level Spirit Elder. Be careful," Lan Yinhuang said, hearing the broadcast.

She still didn't understand why Lin Yongming had chosen the name Ashura.

"Zhao Wuji! Could it be him?" Lin Yongming was momentarily stunned upon hearing his opponent's name. It was a name he was somewhat familiar with.

"Arena 2 is over there. I'll take you," Lan Yinhuang said, leading Lin Yongming by the hand as they followed the signs.

"Alright," Lin Yongming nodded, following her.

The Soto City Great Spirit Arena had four battle arenas: three smaller ones and one main arena. The main arena was twice the size of the smaller ones and was typically used for seven-person team battles. Lin Yongming's one-on-one match would naturally take place on one of the smaller arenas.

Spectator Betting

"Haha, a 33rd-level newcomer I've never heard of. This is another easy win. How much are you betting on me this time?" A short figure, about the same height as Lin Yongming, sneered at his friend.

"Your luck is indeed good. You've only been in Soto City for a few days and have already won over a thousand gold spirit coins. I'll bet 500 on you this time, but the odds are 7:1, which is a bit low," his friend, wearing glasses and looking cunning, replied with a grin.

"That's normal. I'm on a four-win streak, so the organizers have to adjust the odds. Anyway, I need to get ready. Go place your bet," the short fighter said, cracking his knuckles.

"Go ahead."

Lin Yongming and Lan Yinhuang were guided by staff to the entrance of Arena 2, where they waited.

"Ugh, why is a blind person competing in the Great Spirit Arena? This is just asking for trouble," a staff member muttered as he walked away, glancing at Lin Yongming with pity.

"Spirit Elder Zhao Wuji versus a 33rd-level newcomer, Ashura. You all know who to bet on, right?"

"Haha, of course, Zhao Wuji. He's on a four-win streak."

As Lin Yongming approached the entrance, he could hear the chatter from the spectator stands.

"Xiao Ming, don't pay attention to what they're saying. Just focus on your match. Hmph, they'll regret it when they lose their bets," Lan Yinhuang reassured him, hearing the spectators' lack of faith in Lin Yongming.

"Ah Yin, you know me. I don't care about others' opinions. Besides, I can't even see their expressions anyway," Lin Yongming replied with a light smile.

"Welcome, everyone, to Arena 2 of the Great Spirit Arena! Please welcome our Spirit Fighters! On the left, we have the familiar Zhao Wuji, and on the right, today's newly registered fighter, Ashura!"

As the host introduced them, Lin Yongming stepped onto the arena.

Spectators React to Ashura's Appearance

"What the heck?! Why is a blind person allowed to compete? How is this even a match?"

"Ugh, I thought the name Ashura sounded cool and intimidating, so I bet 50 gold coins on him. And this is what I get? A blind guy?!"

"Exactly! No wonder the odds were set at 7:1. There's a trick here. Good thing I didn't bet on Ashura."

As Lin Yongming stepped onto the arena, the spectator stands erupted with discussion. Those who had tentatively bet on him were now filled with regret.

"Ah, the Great Spirit Arena's money is so easy to make," someone sighed.
