Chapter 7

Seeing that the yellow-haired man had a bleeding wound on his forehead from being hit by a stone, Zhen Fugui quickly came over to check, looking at the injury on his forehead.

"Luckily, it's just a scrape, the skin's only cut."

He hadn't expected that throwing a fishing rod would cause such an incident. A fishing spot causing bloodshed? Thankfully, it was just a superficial wound.

Despite this, Zhen Fugui remained cautious and immediately pulled Jia Fuhai to go back. "Let's go, we should go to the hospital just in case."

"Dad, it's probably fine. No need to make a big deal out of it."

Jia Fuhai only felt pain when he was hit, but as he touched his forehead, it didn't seem like a big injury, and he didn't feel lightheaded.

"Let's get it checked, just in case," Zhen Fugui insisted, pulling him along. He thought that if the yellow-haired man was hurt, his daughter would surely be upset with him.

Jia Fuhai, feeling a bit annoyed by being dragged, sighed and said, "Alright, alright, but I still have the fish and fishing rods."

"Leave them! I'll have someone collect them. The fish pond is mine, and I can make a call to take care of it," Zhen Fugui replied.

With that, the two of them headed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, fast forward a bit.

"Brother Hai, I'm here!" Zhen Linna shouted as she entered the door with a key.

"Why are you shouting like that?" Zhen Linqi, who was reading a book, looked up at her noisy sister and scolded.

Zhen Linna glanced around the room, her eyes darting from side to side. "Sister, where's Brother Hai?"

Zhen Linqi took a sip of honey water, turned another page of her book, and without looking up, answered, "He went fishing with Dad."

Zhen Linna's eyes instantly drooped, looking very disappointed.

Closing her book, Zhen Linqi looked at her deflated sister and teased, "All you care about is Brother Hai. Am I just an outsider to you?"

"Sis, you're my dear, dear, dear sister!" Zhen Linna immediately hugged her older sister's growing figure.

"Different mothers!"

"No, same father!" Zhen Linna replied, laughing.

"You didn't used to say that," Zhen Linqi remarked, smiling.

Looking at her smiling sister, Zhen Linna playfully shook her head and leaned into her sister's arm, saying, "I didn't know better back then! Sis, you're the best!"

Zhen Linqi stopped smiling, her expression turning serious. "I just hope you won't regret it."

"I won't regret it! And we really are sisters who will never be separated," Zhen Linna said sincerely, as if she understood the deeper meaning behind her sister's words.

Lin Feifei???

"So, how's things with Dad? You need to be careful from now on."

"I don't know if the situation with Brother Hai has been found out, but my yuri relationship has already spread across the girls' college, and Dad and Mom talked to me about it."

"...You actually went and told people about your yuri relationship?"

"Sis, you underestimate me!"

Though everything was accidental, Zhen Linna didn't see it that way. She thought she was quite clever.

Zhen Linqi truly didn't expect things to turn out this way. Even though she and her sister were at the same school, if this had been in the past, she would've known everything. Now, not so much—her close friends were all gone, and her former besties were no longer in touch.

She started questioning her sister about what had been discussed with their parents.

After hearing her sister's recounting, Zhen Linqi thought deeply, her slender fingers tapping on the table.

"Dad might suspect that you like Brother Hai, but since I've always been around him, he's not completely sure. As for Mom, she's just concerned about your yuri situation."

"So what do we do now? I feel like if we confess about Brother Hai, Dad will be furious."

Zhen Linna agreed with her sister's analysis, but she was also unsure of what to do.

Zhen Linqi appeared troubled. "Let's wait and see. Maybe we should find out what Brother Hai thinks."

She then thought about their father's attitude toward Brother Hai.

"Ah, if Brother Hai succeeds, he won't be able to stay by my side. But he doesn't like working much, so it's actually good. He can always be around. But Dad..."

Zhen Linqi knew that everyone had their own opinions. For example, she liked peace and quiet, and Brother Hai was a perfect match for that.

But their father wanted his daughter to be cared for by someone capable.

They weren't wrong; they just had different perspectives.
