Chapter 29

"Old Zhen, in the future, you could have your grandsons enter competitions," Lao Bai said, absolutely enamored with the two little ones.

"I'll leave that to my daughter and son-in-law," Zhen Fugui replied, feeling that it was better not to interfere. He was already satisfied with spending time with his grandsons; the rest was not his concern.

Click.

The door opened.

Jia Fuhai entered, leading a middle-aged woman.

"Qiyi, Naji, time to study." Zhen Linqi immediately stood up and called the two little ones as soon as she saw the person she had hired arrive.

"Okay, Mom."

"Coming, Aunt Qilin."

The two kids stopped playing and quickly followed.

At home, Zhen Linqi had a kind of natural authority over the two little ones.

As for Zhen Lina... to Jia Naji, his mother was practically useless...

Well, maybe not that bad. Zhen Lina mostly just played with the two, and they liked it, though sometimes she got a little carried away.

Zhen Lina knew her own capabilities. When it came to teaching the kids, she left it all to her older sister.

Jia Fuhai was the same. Knowing his own limitations, aside from making sure the kids weren't too tired, he left everything to Qilin.

"Hello, Teacher Wang," Zhen Linqi greeted quickly.

"Hello, Mrs. Jia," Teacher Wang responded with a nod, then looked at the two little ones running over. She frowned slightly—they were much younger than she had expected, probably not even five or six yet.

Still, they were paying her a lot, so she had to give them an education worth their money. Even if they were only pigs, she would ensure they got her best efforts.

As a renowned educator proficient in global languages, Teacher Wang prided herself on providing top-tier instruction.

After finding a room, Teacher Wang prepared to begin teaching.

Zhen Fugui and his wife, along with Lao Bai, stayed nearby to observe how the little ones would learn.

Teacher Wang began speaking to the children. During their conversation, she realized that the two had already mastered both Chinese and English.

These were prodigies—no doubt about it!

"What the... Qilin never told me the boys already learned two languages! I thought they only spoke Chinese!" Zhen Fugui exclaimed, shocked. He had assumed she hired the teacher to teach them English.

Chen Lina was equally stunned on the inside, though outwardly she maintained her usual calm demeanor. "Qilin speaks English too, so if she hired someone, of course, it means they've already learned it."

"Brother! I'm going to tell my son to have a daughter immediately. She'll be your grandsons' wife for sure!" Lao Bai was so impressed that he essentially gave away his unborn granddaughter.

"Don't be ridiculous. I'm younger than you, and I can't bear the responsibility!" Zhen Fugui replied, feigning fear, though the smirk on his face gave away his true feelings.

Teacher Wang started the lesson.

The two kids selected a new language to learn and immediately began.

"Roll your tongue," Teacher Wang instructed, teaching them a tricky pronunciation.

To her surprise, they picked it up instantly.

At this moment, Teacher Wang finally understood why the two little ones could already speak two languages. Their abilities were simply terrifying.

Zhen Fugui and his wife were witnessing the speed at which prodigies learn for the first time. Inside they were utterly floored.

Their lips twitched in silent awe.

Seeing this, Lao Bai began bombarding his son with text messages. He demanded, right now, that his son have a daughter!

Meanwhile, in another room...

Zhen Lina leaned against her older sister, speaking in a soft voice, "Sis, thank you so much. You've done so much for my son."

She was deeply grateful for her sister's care. She knew her son sometimes couldn't keep up with Jia Qiyi (an exceptional child with extraordinary mental abilities), but her older sister never gave up and even made sure to help him catch up.

"Well, he's like my own son, so of course I'm going to help." Zhen Linqi sounded a little annoyed by her sister's saccharine tone.

"Yes, yes. If Naji ever dares to deny you as his mother, then I'm not his mother either." Zhen Lina laughed, linking her arm with her sister's.

"Why don't you go see your son, or maybe go mess around with Fuhai instead?" Zhen Linqi rolled her eyes.

"Oh no, sis, are you getting tired of me? I always help you out!" Zhen Lina raised her voice, using the same sweet tone as before.

Feeling a shiver run down her spine, Zhen Linqi looked disgusted. "Ugh, you really say the most ridiculous things."

"Hehe," Zhen Lina giggled, holding her sister even tighter.

"Fuhai, stop what you're doing and take her away. If you don't, I swear I'm going to throw her out!" Zhen Linqi finally snapped, calling out for her sister's nemesis.

"Got it!" Jia Fuhai, who had been looking through some baking materials, immediately stood up and went over to drag Zhen Lina out. "Lina, let's go. I need to pick up some things."

"Ah! Fuhai, you're not really going to kill me, are you?!" Zhen Lina pretended to collapse to the floor as she was dragged away, though she knew full well it was all an act. She was just being dramatic.

"What are you even talking about? I just want to buy some things for our sons," Jia Fuhai replied, exasperated by his wife's antics.

"Fine." Zhen Lina, feeling guilty, followed him out.

Back on the couch, Zhen Linqi shook her head. Would they ever stop causing trouble?

She, too, began to drift into thought.

After dragging Zhen Lina outside, Jia Fuhai headed straight to the bookstore.

"Fuhai, what are you doing? Are you planning on getting a graduate degree?" Zhen Lina asked, puzzled, as they stood at the bookstore's entrance.

"That's for Western students. No, I'm just picking up some books," Jia Fuhai explained as he led her inside.

"Fuhai, please don't study. I'm scared! We're the only two in the family who aren't academic overachievers. If you start working hard, what am I going to do?" Zhen Lina wailed. The thought of Fuhai studying seriously terrified her—what would she do if he outshoned her?

"Don't worry, you know me. Studying isn't my thing either. I'm just buying some books for the kids," Jia Fuhai assured her, though he was amused by her dramatic response.

Jia Fuhai first picked out a few books on baking.

"Fuhai, you're so good to me!" Zhen Lina exclaimed, holding onto him tighter. She thought he was buying the baking books just for her.

"..." Jia Fuhai wasn't sure what she had misunderstood, but he didn't bother correcting her.

After getting the baking books, he also picked up a few on logic and philosophy.

Since the number of books was too much to carry, Jia Fuhai arranged for the rest to be delivered to their house.

Outside the bookstore, Zhen Lina asked, "Are we heading home now?"

"Yep."

Hearing that, Zhen Lina pouted and shook Jia Fuhai's arm, complaining, "That's it? Why did we even come out if we're not doing anything fun?"

"What do you want to do?" Jia Fuhai, knowing his wife well after so many years, knew she always wanted to play around.

"Nothing! How about we give Naji a little brother or sister?" Zhen Lina suggested, her eyes gleaming with mischief as she kept her expression completely serious.

As a mom, she had long since moved past the stage of being shy about these things. Now, she was utterly carefree, bold, and playful.

Jia Fuhai actually started considering it.

It didn't seem as hard as raising other kids. Their sons were so brilliant, so it was easy.

And besides, Qilin had been resting for nearly a year now. Even Feifei had hinted several times that she wanted to have a child, but her medical studies had been holding her back.

He glanced over at Lina.

Seeing his gaze, Zhen Lina immediately shot him a sharp look in return!

Jia Fuhai shook his head, smiling. "Lina, let's just go home. You're too weak for that—one word: exhausted!"

"..."

Lina thought about her limits and reluctantly admitted he was right. But she quickly covered it up with bravado. "I just want to go home and check on the kids. What's wrong with that?"

"Sure, sure, you're totally right," Jia Fuhai said, playing along.

"Hmph." Zhen Lina snorted lightly as she got into the car.

The two of them drove back home.
