Inside the room.
After one hour of teaching, Ms. Wang was more than satisfied with the progress of the two little ones—actually, a bit too satisfied.
Even though it had only been an hour, she could tell that Jia Qiyi could be pushed to the limit with no concerns about pace, and he would still learn perfectly. Jia Naji, on the other hand, required some technique and repetitive learning. However, this "need" was only slight in comparison to Jia Qiyi—compared to the other students she had taught, his progress was lightning fast.
At this rate, it wouldn't take long before they finished learning everything.
Looking at the two still full of energy.
"Class is over!" Ms. Wang ended the lesson and prepared to leave.
This was the first time she had taught such young prodigies, but she was quite pleased.
"Yay!" x2 The two little ones raised their short arms in celebration. While they enjoyed learning, playing was still more fun. However, they knew they had to complete the tasks their mother assigned.
"Thank you for your hard work, Ms. Wang," said the three who had quietly watched the lesson, immediately coming forward when it was over.
"It's my job. These two are so intelligent that I fear it won't take long before I run out of things to teach them." Ms. Wang smiled and walked out of the room.
"Thank you, Ms. Wang," Zhen Linqi quickly got up to greet her as she came out.
"Mrs. Jia, no worries. They are such prodigies—learning incredibly fast. They are by far the best-behaved and easiest students I've ever taught," Ms. Wang responded.
She had taught gifted children with photographic memories before, but never ones who were so obedient. High-intelligence children often presented challenges—not because they were bad, but because they were still young and immature, requiring redirection to keep them focused on lessons. These two, however, could stay focused on their studies, making teaching them a breeze.
"Please take care of them in the future, Ms. Wang," Zhen Linqi said as she had observed the acclaimed teacher's lesson and found it effective.
"You can count on me, Mrs. Jia," Ms. Wang said, knowing that she would be working with these two for a while and left to prepare more teaching materials.
After seeing Ms. Wang off at the gate of the residential area, Zhen Linqi went to check on the two little ones.
Meanwhile...
On their way back home, Jia Fuhai stopped by an appliance store to buy several ovens—both large and small. He carried the smaller ones back to the car, while the store would deliver the larger ones.
Back at the entrance of the building, they hauled the ovens back upstairs.
"Are you planning on setting up a stall with so many ovens, Haige?" asked Zhen Linna, carrying a box of baking books and already drooling at the thought.
"Not a bad idea," Jia Fuhai mused, although even if they did, it would just be for fun. He had no intention of turning it into hard labor—that would defeat the purpose of having such a supportive wife!
Once inside, they put everything down.
Jia Fuhai, noticing the two little ones reading comic books in the room, grinned mischievously, grabbed a baking book, and approached them.
"Qiyi, Naji, check this out. Tomorrow, help Dad make some baked goods." Jia Fuhai handed them a bread-making book as they looked up from their comics.
"Haige... they're too young for this!" Zhen Linna was exasperated. She thought she was the only unreliable one, but now Haige was joining in.
"It's fine, it's all about participation," Jia Fuhai laughed.
The two little ones were surprised. They both loved the food their dad made, but they knew they were still too young to cook themselves.
Despite feeling like their dad was wasting their comic-reading time, they decided to take a look.
They opened the book and began reading.
"Add water, ferment, knead, let rest..."
They frowned. Kneading? They couldn't do that!
For Jia Qiyi, however, the baking book was easy to remember after just one read—there was no need to flip through it again.
"This one, this one," Zhen Linna excitedly pulled out another book on desserts. She loved sweets, especially pastries.
"Sigh~ Might as well give it to me!" Jia Fuhai rolled his eyes at Zhen Linna. Just a moment ago, she said the kids couldn't do it, and now she was handing them the recipes for her favorite foods.
"Come on, Haige, I want to eat," Zhen Linna pleaded, her mind filling with visions of delicious treats from Haige's cooking.
"..." Jia Fuhai knew she was misunderstanding something, but he didn't bother explaining.
After gathering the books on baking, logic, and critical thinking, Jia Fuhai planned to let the kids read them at their own pace.
The whole family then settled down to read together.
Zhen Linna looked through the pictures, mostly just drooling over the delicious treats.
Zhen Fugui rolled his eyes at the whole situation but didn't interfere, treating it as light-hearted fun.
Old Bai had long since gone home—he couldn't stay over indefinitely after all. Plus, he had some wedding pressure of his own to attend to.
That evening...
"Haige, why haven't I gotten pregnant yet..." Zhen Linqi asked while gently touching her belly, frustrated. She had been trying to conceive for a while, intending to add another child to the Jia family in Hong Kong.
"Yeah, Haige, me too," Zhen Linna chimed in, always the brave and bold one.
"Haige, I'm perfectly fine too," Lin Feifei added, eager to join in. She was also looking forward to having a child after seeing how smart the two boys were. She figured she could take a break from her medical studies once she got pregnant.
Jia Fuhai considered that since the two little ones were so easy to care for—and they were currently under the watchful eye of their grandparents—having a few more kids seemed doable. The only downside was that his carefree life might be coming to an end...
