Chapter 10

I had just won the lottery, and after Nolan was caught embezzling company funds, I planned to move to a different city. So this job was expendable.

They asked me why I was driving drunk, and I told them about Nolan's affair.

They all felt deeply sympathetic towards me and said they would try to appeal to the management to see if they could avoid firing me, or at least let me go through the normal process to get severance pay.

To be honest, I didn't really care anymore. I was just glad to be alive.

I didn't expect Nolan to run out of patience, as the inspection team from headquarters was getting closer to arriving.

When I got out of detention, I saw a message the private investigator had sent me two days ago.

He told me that Nolan's mother had died, with the official story being an accidental death.

But the private investigator said Nolan's mother actually died after being pushed off a cliff by Nolan himself.
