Demons

As Berlin walked back from the washroom, she glanced around the crowded hall. Waiters in black-and-white uniforms moved between the guests, serving drinks and food, chatting and drinking filled the hall, their voices and laughter mixed with the music.

She didn't want to stay here any longer. If she stayed, she might end up with a spiked drink, false accusations thrown at her or witnessing her husband making out with her best friend, she turned around and made her way toward the upper floor. The music that had been blaring had faded into the background, as she walked a considerable distance.

Richmond narrowed his eyes at the dimly lit pathway that he saw Berlin taking earlier. A while ago he had seen her heading out of the washroom and now heading to a pathway which was a more secluded section of the event hall. A small smile escaped his lips as he thought about Berlin; the smooth cherry lips of hers were very alluring.

Though his father warned him over and over again not to look for women like her and not mix business with pleasure, as it would only spell trouble. Richmond didn't care. He was someone who would always do what was on his mind. Inwardly, he was sure Brenda made all that up and had figured it out when she handed the pill. Nonetheless, he was sure that Berlin would succumb to his advances.

Richmond was confident that Berlin was like all the other women he had been with; loose, easy to sleep with. In his eyes, she was nothing but a tramp, a woman who would be easily tempted by money. In short someone like him. Berlin's preference shouldn't have changed that much right?

If she could marry a man picked up for her based on conditions set by others. What's more, someone who is willing to give it to her for free.

How can a woman who readily accepts a stranger as her husband, resist someone like him?

Even though he was not good-looking, he was also rich and influential. There was no reason for her to decline his offer right? He was sure that he was what every woman looked for in a man and that many women would fight to get into his pants.

Richmond smiled once again when he saw that this pathway was leading them to a dimly lit terrace. He roamed his eyes and easily spotted her.

"I am sorry. Pardon my actions. I just want you..."

"Just this time, Tasha. I would not accept this in the future. You know better than this."

"I know that..." Tasha was still fuming with anger at her friend. She expected things to go her way for once and all he did was push her away. It broke her heart.

"I saw you, Karlos. I saw you on that day. I saw you and Berlin kissing. I rushed work so I could come over and comfort you only for me to see you with her.

As she spoke, Karlos's eyes were filled with confusion. She did not need to explain to him what he did because he didn't see anything wrong with kissing his wife.

"My heart is breaking to see you are trying to forget me and finding her attractive. Isn't it?"

Tasha's tears continued to flow down her cheeks like a river. It was all her fault, wasn't it? Falling for him.

At this point, Tasha looked pitiful and fragile.

RING

Just then Karlos's phone began to ring, pulling their attention away from their emotions. It was his head of security.

"Sir. I am sorry but I have lost Mrs. Berlin. She went into the washroom and I waited but now, I have been looking for her and..."

"There's a tracker on her. Go back to your post. I'll handle it."

"Oh, my apologies sir, I never expected her to..."

"It's okay." He cut the call and returned his gaze back to her. " If you want to talk about this again, I don't have time for it."

Karlos is not someone who acts on impulse. And definitely not for a woman. If there is a species on this planet that he detested the most is a deceitful woman. Especially after what happened between them.

Though the woman had her back turned to him, the peach-colored dress was an obvious giveaway that this woman was Berlin. Her hair was let down, and a little of her pale white skin could be seen.

Richmond smelled her flowery scent wafting in the air, making him feel even more giddy inside. It was a scent he fondly plastered to memory. He watched as she against the railings of the terrace while watching the cityscape below. They were on the 18th floor, so the view from where they were was extremely magnificent.

With a sinister smile on his lips, Richmond hugged the woman from behind earning a surprise shriek from the latter. "Shhh... it's okay... Richmond is my name...." he said his voice full of lust as he started to move his hands hurriedly all over the woman's body, groping her.

"Let me go!" Berlin struggled to break free from the man who was now kissing her neck from behind. But he is not listening to her, and he doesn't have any intention to let her go.

When Richmond felt Berlin struggle, he immediately tightened his hold on her waist and used his hand to cover her mouth instinctively. His moves were agile and natural as if he had done this many times before. Richmond loved women and had always had a way with women, whether they were willing or unwilling. Nothing happened to him so far because his status alone would bail him out of any sticky situation with women.

"The more you struggle, the more this will hurt you. Why don't you relax and enjoy the view from here? " Richmond's sinister voice once again echoed as he furrowed his brows. The fact that he was feeling this heat building inside him was something he did not expect. However, he immediately concluded this was the effect of the pill that he had drunk earlier.

His heart rate seemed to be accelerating even more when he felt Berlin struggling. This immediately fueled the lust that he had been feeling inside when he was watching her smiling and talking to his mates earlier.

Before he could fulfill his sexual fantasies, a fist straight into his face after she had been pulled away from him. and Berlin heard a bone crack as he fell back on the ground because of the impact.

"Damnit!!" Cursed Richmond on the ground.

Berlin's heart was beating like an alarm that had reached its time.

It was as if Berlin's thoughts were stuck on what nearly happened to her. Her mind was elsewhere.

Those girls must be demons from hell. She never knew her step-sister and those girls would prepare for another plan, just in case their initial one failed.

Her stomach twisted.

Turning she saw it was Karlos standing there, subtle anger in his eyes, which had narrowed at the person on the ground.
