I quit!

On Monday morning I had another interview at this company I'm not even sure what it's called. I wasn't hyped up about it cause I really wanted PackAir. Anyway, I wore my hair straight that day and left the house early, I reached the company and the huge building had CIS in large block letters on it then walked through the twin front doors. "Hi," I said smiling at the receptionist at the counter. "Hello ma'am, how may I help you?" She asked. "Um, I'm here for the job interview." I said, "Hold on ma'am," she told me then she checked through something, and she turned to me. "Take the elevator to the third floor and enter the first room to your right." She directed. I took the elevator and reached the third floor. "First room to my right, ooh, look at that!" I mumbled to myself and headed for the room. I wasn't sure if I should knock so I just opened the door, and I heard someone say. "Come in!" I sighed and got in. "Are you here for the interview?" A woman asked me. I didn't expect her to be a woman. She was tall and dressed in a pantsuit with short black hair and green eyes. "Yes ma'am." I replied, she took a seat and cleared her throat.

"What's your name?" She asked me. "My name is Lee Ashton." I replied. "Miss Ashton, I'm sorry but the interviews we've taken are currently enough and we've already selected the people we want." She told me calmly. "But your ad said that there was an interview today." I said. "I'm sorry, Miss Ashton." She told me then I felt my heart sink, and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Not again. I buried my face in my hands then I heard the door open and I raised my head and saw a guy talking to the woman behind the desk. He wasn't wearing any official clothing just denim jeans, a white striped tee and a black leather jacket. He was tall with brown hair pushed back from his forehead and brown eyes.

After he was done talking to that lady he stared at me and I looked away. "Who's that?" He asked the woman. His voice was deep and familiar. "She's Lee Ashton, sir. She's here for the nutritionist post but I explained to her that we already got someone for that." The lady said. "Hire her." He said. I darted my gaze toward them. The lady was shocked. "But sir, we already hired someone." She said, "So?" He said raising his eyebrow. "Fire them and hire her, Madison!" He said sternly then he turned to look at me and I was both excited and nervous. "Tomorrow, eight sharp at my office." He told me then he exited the room.

"Okay, apparently you're hired." Madison told me then I thanked her. "Don't thank me. Thank Sir Raphael. Seriously, I don't know what goes on in that youth mind of his sometimes." She told me then I smiled and left the room.

When I got home I told my dad the good news. He was so happy for me, and we both wished mom was there to be happy with us too. I then went inside my room and threw myself in bed and smiled. So his name is Raphael, the guy who just magically made my dreams come true and he's my boss. Oh no! I thought, what if he's rude? Or mean or worse? Oh my gosh! I'm worrying too much. Hold on a second, how come his voice sounds so familiar? My eyes widened when I remembered. "Watch where you're going!" It's that guy from the subway the one whom I bumped into. He was so pissed. Oh my gosh, what if it's his way to get back at me?

I was at the front of the CIS building, and I had second thoughts about going in. I arrived at the reception counter. I ran into Madison, and she smiled at me. "You're here, great." She said then I smiled back at her. "Mr. Lockwood is waiting for you." She said then I swallowed hard and followed Madison to his office. She knocked then we stepped inside, and we saw him seated on his chair facing the other side. "Mr. Lockwood, she's here." Madison said then she left, I felt like asking Madison not to leave. I cleared my throat. "Um," I started, "What are you doing here?" He asked. "I'm sorry what?!" I said. He smiled. "Lee Ashton," he said. "Look, I'm not sure what's going on here but," I said "What?" He said. "Okay," he said folding his hands on the table. "Impress me." He said. "Huh!" I said.to "You've got five minutes impress me come on, chop, chop!" He said then I ran outside the office and ran into Madison. "Oh, I'm so glad I ran into you Madison. I'm supposed to impress him so," I said then she smiled. "Follow me." She said so I followed her to the kitchen.

"So, this is your kitchen and you're the head nutritionist in here so you're in charge of all of Mr. Lockwood's meals alright?" She told me. "Your team will be with you shortly." She said then two girls and one guy came in. "This is Marion, Lily and Sally." Madison said. "Hi," they said in unison, and I smiled. "So guys, Let's impress the boss." I said enthusiastically. After a while, I went into Mr. Lockwood's office with his food, and I set it on his desk. "Breakfast is served sir, I'll be going now." I said then I was about to leave, and he called my name, and I turned. "Yes sir," I said. "Sit with me." He said. "Sir?" I said. "It's okay." He said then I went and sat across the table from him. "Why did you hire me, sir?" I asked him. "Why do you think?" He asked. "I don't know." I replied. "Don't I know you from somewhere?" I asked.

"Mh--do you?" He asked. "I think I recognize your voice." I said. "Weird subway guy." I glared at him. "So tell me why did you really hire me?" I said then he sighed and looked at me. "I was there." He said and a look of confusion dominated my face "What?" I asked. "I was there at the interview you did last week, and I told them not to take you in." He said. "What?" I said standing. "Sit down Lee." he told me "You were the reason I didn't get that job? Do you know how long I waited for that interview?" I told him. "Just sit down Lee." He said. "Look we had no choice alright. We had to cut some people out." He said. "I'm sincerely sorry." He added. "That's why when I saw your name on that day I decided to get you the job to make up for what happened." He said.

"You should be thankful cause not everyone gets this chance." He added. Then I looked at him and shook my head then I tutted. "Yeah. Not everyone. I quit!" I said then I exited the office slamming the door behind me.
