The blissful cloud she was living in was yet to collapse but sheh felt sure it wouldn't be any time soon. She had seen her entire life right thee during that party. She saw how her sister was still as clumsy as before, how her future husband was just a fantastic gentleman. She had witnessed the joy that came with being loved right. Robina was living on cloud nine and her designs for the couple of days she had been engaged was showing. Bold colors, risky decor and yet she managed to put it together properly. She could be drowning and she's still die with a smile as she thought about the life that she was going to have with Arsher. She had been born into money and not only that she owned her interior design slash closet organisers company and she knew she was doing well for herself. She felt proud that she had something of her own and she was not about to be begging from her husband, like their mother. The thought slightly dampened her mood as she was drawn to how their life growing up had been like. The man who they called their father had taken so much advantage of their mother making her so vulnerable and desperate but she was not about to be like that.
She instead wanted to emulate her younger sister. Even though their father had cut her off, she managed to build herself from scratch onto the worlds most sought after events organizer. Her man, Uriah had played a role in making her who she was. She had used every little thing she found to grow herself, her wealth to the level where she was. She never missed being on the list of the top organizers. When Robina had decided to do closet organization as part of her corporation, it was because of the success she had seen her sister experience. She was yet to stand on her own. She was still paying back her father the loan he had given her to start up. Little by little she knew she was going to make it.
She was ready to be a wife and a boss lady. She plastered on a smile on her face. She sat on her vanity with a spread of her make up products looking right at her. She smiled widely at the thought of looking pretty for her date with Arsher. Lately the man had been showing her off to the world every chance he got. He took her to events, he made sure to post amazing selfies of them online and somehow this made Robina love the man more. She was feeling like her world was now clicking into place. All those who had said that he was with her for the alliance of the families and for the money were wrong. If they weren't would he have been trying his best to ensure that the world knew she was his and he was hers? She picked up her foundation and sponge and started doing her make up. It was all roses until she unscrewed her liquid lipstick and the scent of it sent her to her adjoined washroom and she threw up the little snack she had just had. It was odd but she brushed it off as she brushed her teeth and decided to go with a simple gloss instead of lipstick.
He was a vision standing on her doorway. His fitted suit with three top buttons of his dress shirt undone had her reconsidering this date thing. A night indoors sounded more appealing each second she kept her eyes on him. He smiled at her the wrinkles around his eyes becoming more apparent of how happy he was as a man. He leaned in pecking her lips and waking her up from the moment that she had been stuck in. She smiled at him before taking his outstretched arm and walking with him to his car. He was the perfect gentleman, opening the door and helping her settle in. She was certain she made the right choice with the man. Her mind ran also to other ways that he had handled her in a very gentle way after loving on her so roughly. She fought back a smile even as she felt the warmth rush to the one place she didn't want to pay attention to at the moment. A blush came upon her face when her eyes found him staring at her with a knowing smile.
"We can go back in you know." He commented cheekily causing her to slap his hand and hide her face. She heard him laugh at that reaction before the car started and they drove off.
She saw the few flashes as they walked into the hotel together. She didn't mind them either. It was a welcome distraction from the god of a man who had his hand on the small of her back. She wanted to put distance between them just as much she wanted to exact opposite. The contrasting feelings had her on a chokehold and she wanted nothing more than to be free from that. She was happy when they got into the lobby of the hotel, as his hand loosened a little giving her a little wiggle room. She tried to get away but he tightened his arm around her, a feeling that was quite natural and welcoming.
Dinner was going great until she smelled the eggs. The feeling from earlier hit her again and she ran towards the washroom. It was so unlike her to feel sick over eggs yet it was happening. She cleaned her lips and gurgled a little bit of water to clean her mouth. She looked at herself in the mirror, taking care to carefully wipe the smears of make up from her waterly eyes. She heaved in relief when she was sure she looked half presentable before heading out the door, only to find her man waiting right there with worry and concern in his eyes. She smiled at him, hoping that it was a comforting one and not one that revealed how she was feeling. He wordlessly kissed her forehead and they headed back to the table. The entire table had been cleared of their food and all that was remaining was a bowl of icecream, her favorites only. She looked at him and immediately knew she had made the right choice saying yes to his proposal. She felt the wetness on her cheeks before she realized she was crying. She didn't know much but she knew it wasn't normal to cry over a dessert and judging from the smile on the mans face he also knew that.
"We need to get you checked out." He commented with a smile before taking a sip of his wine. Robina looked at him a bit clueless trying to make sense of what was happening to her. She looked at him and went to reach for her own glass but he slapped her hand and placed a glass of water on it instead. Her brain was lagging a bit. It felt like she should have known what was going on but somehow she was not aware. She took the water before she scooped some icecream to her mouth. A moan of delight left her mouth as she shut her eyes and savoured the taste. It was nice to have something that was so good for a change. It felt like everything else was quite inedible. As that thought echoed through her mind she made the connection. The unnecessary heat, the sudden waves of nausea and vomiting, the overly there emotions. She was...
"No.... No..." A complete conflict came over her as she figured out how her parents would react to the realization. While she was happy that it was a fruit between her and her husband to be, it didn't mean that she wasn't scared of how her strict parents would react to it. Some would argue that she was a grown up but to her parents she was the small girl they had very high hopes in. The air in her throat caught and the water made her cough out loudly. She wheezed as she realized no air was getting to her lungs as they constricted painfully. In the full awareness of what was happening to her, she let her eyes shut accepting the momentary peace that came with the darkness. She would deal with her issues later. For now, she just wanted to slip into the dark little abyss that was beckoning her with so much love.
