Talia crouched down, her muscles coiled, lips curling back to expose sharp canines. They had the numbers, but she would take as many down as possible. Her body was tense, the scent of aggression thick in the air. Vlad stepped forward, a sneer stretching across his face as he bared his teeth.
“Well, well, if it isn’t the Rogue Princess. Out here all alone? Did Luca get bored with you already?”
Talia smirked, unfazed by his taunts. “Vlad, my old friend. Did you come back just so I could kick your ass again?”
Snarling, Vlad lunged at her. She anticipated his movement, stepping deftly out of his path. His reaction time was pitiful. As he passed, she raked her claws down his side, blood spraying onto the damp earth. He howled in pain, stumbling. Before she could revel in her small victory, a massive gray wolf slammed into her, knocking her off balance. Another leaped onto her back, its jaws snapping dangerously close to her neck.
