Urbs Humana

A Massive island located in the middle of the sea,in this island lay a city of metal, the city was filled with tall skyscrapers, most of them with a similar design and also similar grey colororing.

But amongst such a large conjunction of similar constructs there were still some with unique designs to them.

One such construct was a massive white palace adorned in shades of gold.

The curtains in the palace were red and so were the carpets.

It's said that the design of the building was based on a legendary castle from long ago, some even suggest that their purposes are the same.

Around and inside the building were many students walking around, some happily chatting with their friends while others in silence by themselves.

Some adorned in expensive jewelry while some lacked any.

Some walked with auras of confidence while some shyly strolled through the building.

But regardless of all that they were all here for the same purpose,to prepare themselves in case they were ever forced to enter a gate by fate.

In a particular classroom there was a otherworldly beautiful woman standing near a board. She had amethyst hair and yellow pupils, the woman had an well developed and alluring figure.

As she was writing something in the board she suddenly stopped and looked back to find the students completely focused on the lesson.

'What a pleasant surprise' She tought.

"So now that we've gotten over the initial procedure it's time to explain to you the basic informations about fate, most of you probably already now this but just in case I will explain things very thoroughly."

"A long time ago a certain entity know as fate descended upon the world,This entity gave challenges to the beings of the now gone Terra planet and in exchange it offered rewards according to the difficulty of the trials.

The difficulty levels were as such:

Incipitientium.

Medius.

Peritus.

Gehenna.

Incipitientium being the easiest levels also offered the least rewards, while Gehenna offered the most.

Back them alot of people chose to enter the trials of Gehenna however none of them returned,in time fewer and fewer people accepted trials from Gehenna until almost no one was willing to enter and those that did found the same fate as their predecessors.

Due to all this the trials of peritus became widely acknowledged as the highest trial that could be conquered and those who passed it's trials became the greatest experts in the world.

However fate also brought with it beings of immense power, some of which not even the strongest soldier of humanity could rival...Until he could,Although he could keep his secrets to himself he instead chose to share them with the rest of his kind and humanity learned how to ascend their own fate.

Those that succeeded were called lightseekers and became the greatest protectors of mankind.

Eventually these lightseekers found the light of which they seeked and became known as Lightkeepers, with that the next stage of the evolution of the fated was revealed.

The lightkeepers were much more formidable than those who did not ascend with them and for while people wondered if they had reached the pinnacle...Until the first Light Bringer emerged,He was unlike anything ever seen before.Resemblimg the demigods of ancient legend and therefore cults worshipping him came into existence ...

It is tought that one or multiple of these cults were responsible for the calamity which befell upon our ancestors, but weather or not that is the truth I do not know...

Beside the Heros who carried the light there were also those that carried darkness within them,The Darkling.

They were those that had entered a dark gate and returned.

The dark gates were the same as the white ones except more deadly, and in return the powers found inside them were also more deadly.

The Darklings had ranks just like the Heros of mankind who carried the light of fate.

They were:

Tenebrae

Dominus Tenebrarum

Tenebrarum Dominus

Apocalyptic Imperatoris Obscura or Dark bringer if you want a shorter option.

The Darkling were shunned by the rest of humanity,Now as to why we must consider that Although more deadly ,the abilities found in dark gates were not necessarily more powerful.

Therefore most people did not take the risks of entering a dark gate, after all most people did not have such a high desire to kill other living beings.

Those who did were by enlarge not normal people, psychopaths if I must say.

Unsurprisingly a group of psychopaths with extremely deadly abilities were not very well received by the people.

The Darkling hunted down others and in exchange were hunted as well, despite their extremely deadly abilities the Darkling were very few in numbers. After all dark gates are much rarer than white ones, the people who were forced into these gates and returned were even fewer and since psychopaths are a minority of the population those who willingly entered them were scarce as well..

In time The Darkling went almost extinct and are seldom seen nowadays."

As she was in the middle of explaining history to her students Anastasia suddenly received a call, she excused herself to her students and went outside to take said call.

"WHAT?" She loudly exclaimed in shock and then proceeded to walk into the classroom.

"That will be all,you can excuse yourselves early."
