the ceo wants to see you

NEXT DAY

I walked into the office, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness. I couldn't wait to see Sarah and fill her in on the details of my conversation with Ace.

As I made my way to my desk, I noticed that Sarah was already there, sipping on a cup of coffee and staring at me with an expectant look on her face.

"Spill the beans," Sarah said, as soon as I sat down. "What really happened between you and the CEO yesterday?"

I smiled, feeling a sense of amusement. "I told you, Sarah, it was nothing exciting. Just a normal conversation," I said, trying to sound nonchalant.

But Sarah wasn't buying it. She raised an eyebrow, her eyes sparkling with skepticism. "Save it, Lucian. I know you're hiding something. You're going to have to do better than that," Sarah said, her voice firm.

I sighed, knowing that I couldn't keep the truth from Sarah for long. But before I could say anything, my phone rang. It was Ace's assistant, asking me to come to his office for a meeting.

My heart skipped a beat as I hung up the phone. What did Ace want to talk to me about? And why did he want to see me again so soon?

Sarah noticed the look on my face and raised an eyebrow. "What's going on?" she asked, her voice curious.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. "I have a meeting with the CEO," I said, trying to sound casual.

Sarah's eyes widened in surprise. "What? That's so sudden. What do you think he wants to talk to you about?" she asked, her voice full of curiosity.

I shrugged, feeling a sense of uncertainty. "I have no idea," I said, standing up to head to Ace's office.

As I walked to Ace's office, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness. What did he want to talk to me about? Was it something related to work, or was it something more personal?

I took a deep breath and pushed open the door to his office. Ace was sitting behind his desk, looking as handsome and confident as ever.

"Lucian, thanks for coming," he said, smiling at me.

I smiled back, trying to hide my nerves. "Of course, what can I do for you?" I asked, taking a seat in one of the chairs in front of his desk.

Ace leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together. "I wanted to follow up on our conversation yesterday," he said, his eyes locked on mine.

I felt a flutter in my chest as I met his gaze. "Oh? What about it?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

Ace smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I wanted to see if you had any more questions for me," he said, his voice low and smooth.

I felt a blush rise to my cheeks as I realized that he was flirting with me. But I tried to play it cool, not wanting to give him the upper hand.

"No, I don't think so," I said, trying to sound nonchalant. "But thank you for offering."

Ace nodded, his smile never wavering. "Anytime, Lucian. Anytime."

As I left his office, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. What was going on between us? And where was it going to lead?

As I walked back to my desk, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and curiosity. What was Ace's game? Was he really interested in me, or was he just playing me for some reason?

Sarah noticed the look on my face as I sat down at my desk. "So, what happened?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

I leaned in, trying to keep my voice down. "He just wanted to follow up on our conversation yesterday," I said, trying to sound casual.

Sarah raised an eyebrow. "That's it?" she asked, her voice skeptical.

I nodded, trying to hide my smile. "Yeah, that's it."

But Sarah wasn't buying it. She leaned in closer, her voice barely above a whisper. "Lucian, I know you're not telling me something. What's going on between you and the CEO?"

I sighed, knowing that I couldn't keep the truth from Sarah for long. But before I could say anything, my phone rang. It was Ace's assistant again.

"Lucian, the CEO needs to see you again," she said, her voice firm.

I felt a flutter in my chest as I hung up the phone. What did Ace want now? And why did he need to see me again so soon?

Sarah noticed the look on my face and raised an eyebrow. "What's going on?" she asked, her voice curious.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. "I have to go see the CEO again," I said, standing up.

Sarah's eyes widened in surprise. "What's going on, Lucian? You're not telling me something."

I sighed, knowing that I had to tell Sarah the truth. But before I could say anything, I had to go and see what Ace wanted.
