I walked back to Ace's office, my heart racing with anticipation. What did he want to see me about this time?
As I entered his office, I was struck by how calm and collected he looked. He was sitting behind his desk, his hands steepled together in front of him.
"Lucian, thanks for coming," he said, his voice smooth and confident.
I took a seat in one of the chairs in front of his desk, trying to calm my nerves. "What can I do for you?" I asked, trying to sound professional.
Ace leaned forward, his eyes locked on mine. "I wanted to ask you something," he said, his voice low and husky.
I felt a flutter in my chest as I met his gaze. "What is it?" I asked, trying to sound calm.
Ace smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I was wondering if you'd like to have dinner with me tonight," he said, his voice smooth and confident.
I was taken aback by the invitation. Dinner with the CEO? It sounded like a date. But I couldn't deny the spark of attraction that I felt whenever Ace was near.
"I...I don't know," I stammered, trying to play it cool.
Ace chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Come on, Lucian," he said, his voice low and persuasive. "It'll be fun. I promise."
I hesitated for a moment, weighing my options. But then I nodded, my heart racing with excitement. "Okay," I said, trying to sound casual. "I'll have dinner with you."
As soon as I agreed to have dinner with Ace, I felt a rush of excitement mixed with a hint of nervousness. What had I just gotten myself into?
Ace smiled, seeming to sense my hesitation. "Great," he said, his voice smooth and confident. "I'll pick you up at 7pm."
I nodded, trying to play it cool. "Sounds good," I said, standing up to leave.
As I walked out of Ace's office, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. What was I going to wear? What were we going to talk about?
I made my way back to my desk, trying to focus on my work. But my mind kept wandering back to Ace and our dinner plans.
Sarah noticed my distraction and raised an eyebrow. "What's going on?" she asked, her voice curious.
I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But then I decided to spill the beans. "Ace asked me out to dinner," I said, trying to sound casual.
Sarah's eyes widened in surprise. "What? That's huge!" she exclaimed.
I nodded, feeling a sense of excitement. "I know, right? I'm not sure what to make of it."
Sarah leaned in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "Well, we'll definitely be discussing this further. But for now, let's focus on getting you ready for that dinner date."
I laughed, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Sarah. "Thanks, Sarah. I don't know what I'd do without you."
We chatted laughed finally focus on our daily task
As I walked into my apartment after a long day at work, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. I dropped my bag on the floor and made my way to my closet, where I began to browse through my collection of designer dresses.
I was supposed to meet Ace for dinner tonight, and I was determined to make a good impression. But as I scanned my closet, I felt a sense of confusion wash over me. Which dress should I wear?
Just as I was starting to get frustrated, my mind began to wander to my friends, Alicia and Jenny. I hadn't spoken to them in weeks, and I felt a pang of guilt for not reaching out to update them on my life.
I sighed, feeling a sense of sadness wash over me. I needed to reach out to them, to let them know that I was thinking of them.
But for now, I had to focus on getting ready for my date with Ace. I took a deep breath, and began to scan my closet once again, searching for the perfect outfit.
As I continued to browse through my closet, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had been neglecting my friendships with Alicia and Jenny. We used to be so close, sharing every detail of our lives with each other. But lately, I had been so caught up in my own world that I hadn't made time for them.
I felt a pang of guilt and decided that I needed to reach out to them. I picked up my phone and sent them a group text.
"Hey girls! I'm so sorry I've been MIA lately. I've got a lot going on, but that's no excuse for not staying in touch. Let's catch up soon!"
I sent the text and felt a sense of relief wash over me. I knew that Alicia and Jenny would forgive me for my neglect, and I was looking forward to hearing back from them.
Just then, my phone buzzed with an incoming text from Alicia.
"Hey girl! We've missed you so much! What's going on? Spill the tea!"
I smiled, feeling happy to be reconnecting with my friends. I began to type out a response, but then I remembered that I had to get ready for my date with Ace.
I put my phone aside and focused on finding the perfect outfit for the night. But I couldn't wait to fill Alicia and Jenny in on all the juicy details of my life.
