First Friend

"Hahaha, I'm a filial child, of course you would be at ease."

He paused for a second, his gaze turned sharp, in a chilling voice he asked, "But what about our sister? You didn't mention anything about her in that diary, any particular reason why?"

Ruffling my hair I chuckle, "Nothing. It's just that she is in the gold level region working there to prevent any accidents."

Azrael tilts his head, "Gold level, what's that? There are many details absent from that diary."

"Let me make this all clear, you know that Antarctica and Europe are destroyed but rest are also not in a pristine condition."

"Figures…"

"The only continents barely holding on are Asia and Australia, when I said barely it was also a compliment. Major states have been destroyed, the human population is less than 1 billion, don't ask about animals they all lost their reasoning and went feral. To prevent anymore loss of human life, the secured regions are divided in 4 levels namely Diamond level, Gold level, Silver level and lastly Bronze level."

"What I can tell from this, is that Diamond levels are most secured whereas Bronze is bottom of the barrel ready to be chopped off."

"Don't disturb me!!!! But yeah, afterward each level is divided into 100 sectors. Higher levels equal good and lower levels equal bad quality of life."

"Hmmm, then Diamond level should have the normal stuff like schools, colleges, hospitals, training sectors etc.."

"Both Gold and Diamond have those but you know quality differs exponentially. Not just that the previous monetary system also got thwarted. These days we use 'Credits' for various kinds of daily necessities."

"How do you get them??"

"Can you stop interrupting me?"

"Sorry, go on."

"As I was saying, the Credits are obtained by working in facilities or as a social worker or the most prominent one by killing the creatures and delivering their bodies to different associations."

"Those associations are big ass companies then."

"Yeah, they act as mediators between the rest of the facilities, they save and supply the products from one place to another, gaining their set of profits."

"Then we don't have a Government??"

"We have, the government consists of strong ability users and scholars who make the rules which are to be followed or the criminal would be thrown from their respective level."

"So a Diamond level one to a Gold level?"

"Yeah, and also another fact that just because only Asia and Australia are secured doesn't mean that we only have Asian and Australian people. Many people migrated at the time of the catastrophe."

"So, we have a variety of people, kk. I get it, Miss Junia here is also a foreigner."

"Yes!! But did I introduce her to you?"

He waves his hands, "I overheard you two talking, don't mind it."

"Oh, I lead an association named Blue Fright, don't ask why I named it that. It was an impulsive decision."

"You rich as hell then, you have wasted even more time now go and take Edith back home."

He was right, I indeed wasted a lot of time. After I get the confirmation of his stay with Junia. I immediately went to get Edith back.

When I arrived at college campus, I was surprised to find Edith actually conversing with someone. Today is really a great day. Just that why is her first friend a boy, even an extremely attractive one at that.

"Edith!! Sorry I was late, let's go back home."

Edith, slightly startled, hurriedly came beside me.

"Hello Mr. Arceid, I'm Kaltain Verge, Edith's college mate."

Kaltain.. I have heard that name before…..Wait!! Kaltain, as the strongest new generation kid.

I shook his hands, "Pleasure to meet you Mr. Kaltain. I have heard a lot about you from my colleagues."

He smiles, "The pleasure is all mine Sir".

"Thanks for giving her company."

"It was my pleasure. She is a nice girl."

He was still smiling, nice girl??, "You better stay away from her you bastard."

"That's nice, Now i'm going to take her back. Sorry for ruining your time together. Edith, let's go."

"Then I will also take my leave, bye."

He went back waving his hands slightly. I also take Edith back to the car, on the way.

"He seems like a nice dude. It's great to see you make friends."

Edith rolled her eyes, "No he isn't a friend".

"Yes!! Yes!! Yes!!" I know, I shouldn't be happy at the fact that she is friendless but it's than being friends with a lecherous/creepy/shady guy.

I ruffle her hair, and drive back home.

When we arrived, Edith went back to her room. I also bathe, eat, spend some time with our parents and workout for sometime.

At night I visited our parents room.

I crept open their room door, "May I come in?"

Both of our parents are well past their 80s but because of the cosmic energy, they don't look like they passed their 30s. Both of them have similar features black hair, brown eyes, both short, just that dad has average skin tone(brown) like me while mom is quite pale.

"They are sleeping soundly, I should not disturb them."

I wanted to tell them about Azrael's return but Azrael demanded a week to satisfy his curiosity. I should respect his decision.

"He must have had another reason, he isn't a curious type to begin with."
