Unprecedent Achievement

Ruby's words shocked the Wayne couple as they tried to make sense of them. Then a thought formed in their heart as Jasmine once again checked Damien for any injuries.

Finding nothing, she shook her head and asked, "Care to explain?"

"Umm, you probably wouldn't believe it, but Young Master had caused the phenomenon," Ruby answered, still shocked at the turn of events.

Arthur frowned at her words, but then an impossible possibility arose in his mind.

He and Jasmine were talking about something in their room when they sensed the sudden fluctuation of Essence from Damien's room. Worried that an intruder might have come, they quickly came here, but something else awaited them.

With quick strides, Arthur closed in on Jasmine and asked, "Dear, can you give him to me for a second?"

Although a little confused, Jasmine nodded and handed over the sleeping child to his father. As he carefully held Damien in his hands, Arthur gently put a strand of his Essence in Damien, and in the next second his eyes widened in shock.

"What are you doing?" Jasmine snatched Damien away from Arthur while glaring at him, "Don't you know it could be harmful for him?"

Instead of answering, Arthur took a deep breath to calm his pounding heart and waved his hand as a golden barrier shimmered into existence, covering the whole room. It also allowed Ruby to let her barrier down, as she wiped the bead of sweat forming on her forehead.

"How quickly had you erected the barrier?" Arthur asked.

"The moment I sensed the fluctuations. Some of it must have leaked in the process, allowing you to sense it," Ruby answered. "And it was so weak that I doubt anyone below Ruler Stage could sense it."

"Good!" Arthur sighed as relief washed over him. "Now go and see if anyone was near the room. Make sure none of them goes outside the mansion."

"I don't know what you are planning, but implementing so much security would surely arouse suspicion," Jasmine said, noticing her husband's serious expression.

"You're right. Ruby, just check if anyone was nearby and report it to me," Arthur nodded and said.

Ruby put her hand on her chest and then vanished from her position, ready to execute her master's orders.

"So, what happened to make you so agitated?"

Arthur made sure there wasn't any hole in his barrier and then answered, "Dear. Our son is too talented. He just awakened his physique and officially stepped into the Foundation stage."

Jasmine's heart shook hearing that as she quickly probed Damien's physique. Sure enough, he really had awakened his physique. Astonishment filled her eyes as she muttered, "No way…"

"He will surely grow up to become a pillar of humanity," Arthur smiled as he looked at his son lovingly. "But we need to make sure he grows up first."

A solemn look appeared on her face as she considered his words. It was true that being a genius could grant you a wonderful future, but that was only when you could survive before reaching there.

In a world where a whole organisation was after all the talented people, it was tough. Not to mention other families and clans could target you out of jealousy and fear that you could surpass them.

One never liked power slipping from their hands, after all.

Awakening physique simply meant that the body and soul were now ready for the usage of Essence and a person could cultivate it. Normally and naturally, it happened at the age of 12 when the children awakened their Essence Core.

However, powerful families could hasten that process by letting the children be in contact with the Essence on a daily basis which lets them adapt to the Essence and awaken earlier. But even then, it would at most awaken them early by a few years, mainly at the age of 8 or 9 years old.

There had been some prodigies who had awakened even earlier. Arthur was one such example as he had awakened at the age of 7 years old.

Damien had broken all those records by awakening at the mere age of 1 year old and a few months. It was beyond ridiculous and would surely attract attention from every influential family and, worse of all, the Obsidian Council.

"We will have to make sure this news gets nowhere," Arthur said, his voice turning cold. "No one—and I mean no one—shall know of his awakening aside from us."

"I understand, Art," Jasmine said. "Also, we should talk to Dad about this. I don't want to take any risks."

"We can call him later," Arthur nodded and then took out a small thread. It looked simple, made from comfortable material and coloured in deep red. He tied it around Damien's wrist while saying, "This is the additional reward from the Tier 7 Rift. It's a Tier 7 Concealment Artefact so unless a Ruler Stage inspects him closely, nobody will sense the Essence fluctuations from him."

He smiled and said, "With this, nobody can sense his awakening, sadly that doesn't include the Obsidian Council."

"How about we shift to Mistvel for a few years?" Jasmine asked. "I know we will need some excuse but this is the best course of action. There is too much risk in the Capital."

"Let's talk with your father first," Arthur sighed. "Only he can truly protect Damien from others, after all."

While they were talking, Ruby returned from her patrol as Arthur let her in through the barrier. Sensing their gaze, she reported, "I didn't find anyone near Young Master's room."

"Good!" Arthur gave a nod to her before turning towards Jasmine. "I'll go try calling him and ask if he can come right now. Jas, how about you accompany them in sleep?"

Jasmine nodded, looking at her child in worry. Seeing that Arthur had left, she picked both Damien and Elise in her arms and went to bed. Keeping them close to her, she slowly drifted to sleep, wondering about the future that awaited her children.

Ruby looked at Damien and clenched her fists, 'I swear I will protect you, Young Master.'

Then, she took a step back and vanished from her spot, looking after her mistress from the shadows. That was her mission and she would do it with all her heart.

A few minutes passed with Jasmine hugging her children to sleep. All of a sudden, the air in the room stagnated, as the temperature increased, filling the room with a heavy atmosphere.

The lights turned dimmer, as a figure materialised near Jasmine's bed. It was illusory, with only the feminine outline of her body visible. Along with that, her fiery red hair shone in the dim light like a floating river of ember.

Towering over the bed, she looked at Damien and Elise with a mild surprise in her starry eyes, as a low voice resounded, "Mythical talent… unusual soul… heh, things are finally starting."

She leaned forward, caressed Damien's cheeks and muttered, "This is what you prepared, impressive. I will also proceed with my plans so don't disappoint me. As a gift for your first achievement, I'll leave you with this."

Her finger glowed near Damien's forehead as her figure began to dissolve in the air. Neither Jasmine nor Ruby noticed her, and the room returned to normal.
