CHAPTER 5

~Chapter 5~

"You see that blue building far back over there? That's where Nate and I got separated." Emily said to us.

"Okay... Let's try to walk behind something to avoid being sighted till we get there." Louis said to us and Emily chuckled slightly and we both turned to stare at her.

"Sorry. It's just nice to see you again Louis." She said to him.

"Come on guys." Louis said, ignoring Emily's comment.

We sneaked behind cars, buildings, and anything we could shield ourselves with until we got to the blue building Emily pointed to.

There were a few zombies still roaming around the entrance of the building making it difficult not to be sighted.

"We need a distraction." Emily said to us.

"How are we going to do that?" I asked her.

"I have an idea. But you're not going to like it very much." Emily said and smirked before pushing Louis out of hiding exposing him to the zombies.

"No!" I whispered aggressively.

The zombies attention turned to Louis and he stood up quickly from the ground and made a run for it and the zombies chased after him.

"What did you just do? Are you insane?" I asked Emily angrily and she smiled.

"Let's go find Nate." She said to me and made her way into the building.

What is wrong with her? Why is she acting different?

I followed her inside the building and saw her hugging Nate.

Nathan.

Tears swelled up my eyes as I tried to control the emotions I was feeling.

He finally noticed me after hugging Emily.

His eyes were glued to mine as we stared at each other.

He slowly walked towards me, and when he was close enough he called out my name.

"Diana?" He looked so shocked.

"Nathan." I said and burst out crying.

He quickly came to my side and hugged me.

"I thought you were dead. I thought everyone was dead. I can't believe you're alive." I said while sobbing in his arms.

"Shush now. I know, I know. I thought you were dead too. At first I was doubting it but when I came by your street, and saw Mel, I lost it. I thought you had also turned into one of those things since you and Mel were together the last time we spoke." He said to me.

"You saw Mel?" I asked and sobbed even more.

"Hush now. It's Okay....it's okay. I'm so glad you're alive and well." He said to me running his hands on my hair.

After staying that way for what seemed like minutes, Emily decided to say something.

"Okay. Good reunion and everything but we need to move. And Don't forget who we left behind now Diana." She said to me and I suddenly remembered Louis.

"Oh my God Louis. We need to go find him. Now." I said to Nathan and he nodded.

"Louis is here too?" Nate asked, looking at Emily and she nodded.

"Well, we better go rescue him then." He said and smiled at me.

The three of us came out of the building in search of Nathan.

We searched the whole area but we couldn't find him anywhere.

Where could he have gone?

"It's getting pretty late guys. Why don't we call it a day, find somewhere to rest our heads and continue the search tomorrow." Emily suggested.

"No. We find Louis first." I say sternly to her.

"Yeah she's right. We need to find Louis. He did help save me back there right?" Nate said to Emily.

"Yeah. He helped. Even if it wasn't supposed to happen the way it did." I said looking right at Emily because of what she did.

"Do you have something you want to say to me Diana love?" Emily asked me and crossed her arms.

"Yeah actually I do. You know this is your fault right? We wouldn't have lost him if you didn't do what you did back there." I said to her getting more annoyed with her attitude.

"I did what I did to save Nate. And look, you're now reunited with your long lost love. You should be thanking me." She said to me.

"What is wrong with you? Why are you talking that way?" I asked her still confused about her change in attitude.

"Talking what way? I don't know what you're talking about." She said to me.

"Girls please let's not get attention to ourselves. It's pretty late to be talking loudly. Emily please just stop whining." Nathan said to her and she rolled her eyes at him.

"Thanks." I said to Nathan and smiled at him.

We searched all night for Louis and didn't find him.

It was morning again and I decided we should lay low.

"Hey guys, do you both wanna come with me to somewhere." I said to them.

"Where?" Emily asked me.

"Somewhere safe. You'll both like it there." I said to them.

"Of course baby. I'd go anywhere with you." Nathan said to me.

"Sure. I'll come too." Emily said and smiled at me.

I led the way and went to the place we had hid the supplies we gathered the previous day and surprisingly, saw Louis sitting by the supplies.

"Louis!!" I called out his name and hugged him.

"Hey. I've been waiting here all night for you guys." He said to us.

"Really?? And We were out there looking for you. All night long." Nathan said to him.

"Yeah. Diana wouldn't let us rest without finding you. And she was being all dramatic for nothing." Emily said to him.

"Really?" Louis asked looking at me.

"I was worried. That's all." I said to him.

"Okay. So where's this safe place you were taking us to?." Emily asked me and Louis gave me a look.

He's not pleased I told them about it.

"A little further inside the woods." I said to them.

"Spooky. I like it already." Emily said and nudged my shoulder playfully.

I smiled at her.

Atleast that side of her hasn't changed.

"Come on guys." I said to them after we carried the rest of the supplies we had.

Nate helped me carry mine. So my hands were free.

Louis and Nathan were in the front while Emily and I walked closely behind them.

"Are you okay Emily?" I asked her.

"Of course. I'm really happy to be here with you. You have no idea how much I missed you." She said to me and held my arms.

"I really missed you too Em. And I heard about Kayley." I said sadly to her.

"Yeah. It was a tragedy. I couldn't help her as I watched those monsters tear her apart, right in front of me." Emily said to me.

"I'm so sorry Em. I can imagine what it must have been like."I consoled her.

"Yeah. It's okay. We're going to be okay." She said to me and smiled and I smiled back.

When we got to the farm house, we dropped the heavy supplies and showed Nate and Emily around.

"Wow. Did you guys really do all these by yourselves?" Nathan asked.

"Yeah. Louis did most of the hard labor though." I said and praised Louis a bit.

"Wow dude. Good Job, I'm impressed." Nate said to him.

"So you both have been staying here together all by yourselves, just the two of you?" Emily asked.

I knew what she was trying to imply.

"Yeah. We have. Louis is a really good friend and house mate." I answered Emily with a stern face.

"Interesting." She said and pursed her lips looking amused by something.

"Is there something you want to say? Em?" I asked her.

"Oh no. No no no. Nothing at all. I'm really really admiring the work you both put in to build this place up like this." She said and smiled.

"I'm going to go get something to eat. Do any of you like something to eat as well?" I asked them.

"Do you even have to ask. I'm starving." Emily said and pouted her lips.

"Yeah. Me too." Nate said and raised his hand.

Louis simply nodded yes.

I went into the small kitchen we had built, and opened some packet of ramen noodles and cooked for us all.

We ate, drank, talked, laughed out loud while reminiscing about the good old days.

Once it was nighttime, we all retreated to bed.

I heard a knock on my door and I opened it to see Nathan.

"Hey. Can I stay with you tonight?" He asked me.

"Of course." I said to him.

He came in and closed the door.

I shifted a little for him to have some space on the tiny bed with me.

"I've missed this. Being this close with you." Nathan said.

"Me too." I said to him with my head laying on his chest.

He raised my face up to look at him while he touched my cheeks, his hands trailed down my body as he touched me everywhere.

He suddenly carried me and laid me down on the bed while laying on top of me.

He kissed my lips slowly at first before getting more aggressive with the kiss.

His hands slipped inside my top and he pressed my boobs sensually.

He started grinding himself on me countless times before trying to take off my panties.

"No. No I don't want to do that." I said to his ears.

He didn't stop or seem to hear me and continued trying to take off my underwear.

"Nate, stop." I said louder this time but he kept on going.

"Nate.... Nate.. Nathan stop!" I yelled and pushed him away.

"Are you serious right now? You're still trying to stop me from having sex with you after all these while?" He asked me breathing hard.

"I'm sorry Nate. But I'm not ready to do it yet. You know that." I said to him.

"What exactly are you saving yourself for now anyways, marriage? Have you seen how the world is at the moment? It wouldn't hurt to enjoy ourselves any chance we get. We deserve it." Nathan said to me.

I kept silent.

"Baby. Let's just do it. I want to do it with you, I don't get why you don't want to do it with me." He said to me looking sad.

"I'm sorry. But I'm not ready. We can do anything else you want but no sex." I said to him and he chuckled.

"Wow. You really don't want me, do you? Or don't tell me you want someone else. Like say, Louis. Do you want to give it to Louis instead?" He said to me and I slapped him.

"Don't ever say that to me again." I said to him and he chuckled nastily.

"Okay. Sure. Whatever you say princess." He said and left the room, banging the door on his way out.

I laid back on my bed. Thinking.

Nathan has changed too.

Just like Emily.

I hope I made the right decision bringing them here.

Once it was morning, I came out for some fresh air and saw Louis already seated outside.

"Hey." He said to me.

"Hi." I said back.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah why wouldn't I be?" I asked him.

"I just.... I'm just worried about you. That's all " he said to me.

Oh no. Did he overhear me and Nate last night?

"Were you eves dropping last night?" I asked him.

"No. I wasn't eves dropping. I was just passing by and happened to hear a few things." He replied.

"Right." I simply said to him.

"Well if you want to talk about it, I'm here for you." He said to me.

"No thanks. I have Emily here for moral support if I want it." I said to him and he nodded.

"Because you don't trust me anymore after what I did. I understand." He said to me.

We both sat in silence.

"Hey guys, I need to go back for my medications. I must have dropped them in that building before we escaped. And they're pretty important to me." Nathan said to everyone.

"Ohh. Are they really important? We risked so much last time." I said to him.

"Yeah. It's important." He said to me sternly.

He must still be angry at me.

"Okay. I'll go with you then. Two is better than one right?" Louis said to Nathan and he nodded.

"I'll come too." I said but Emily disagreed.

"No don't go. Please let's just stay here together, and let the guys go do their thing. Okay?" She said to me while holding my arms.

"Okay. Sure." I said to her and smiled.

"Okay. It's settled then. Come on Louis, where are the weapons around here at? Let's find something suitable to protect ourselves with." Nathan said to Louis.

Louis showed Nathan where we kept our weapons and they took some of it with them.

"I'll see you later. Diana." Louis said to me and I nodded.

Nate suddenly came to me and hugged me tightly before kissing my cheeks.

I thought he was still mad at me.

"See you later babe." He said to me and smiled.

When they left, Emily and I chit chatted all day long.

It felt nice talking with her normally again.

"It's getting really late Em, and they're not yet back. Do you think something's wrong?" I asked Emily.

"No. Of course not. Let's just be patient. I'm sure they'll be back any second now." She said to me.

But I kept feeling uneasy..I felt like something had gone wrong.

It wasn't even up to a minute after talking about it, I saw Nathan walking down casually to us.

"Nate??" I ran up to him and hugged him.

"What happened? Where's Louis?" I asked him but the expression on his face told me everything I needed to know.

"He's gone. The zombies, they got him and I couldn't even save him. I just....I just ran." He said to me and started sobbing.

"What? Nooo. No no no no." I said as tears rolled down my eyes.

"He can't be gone." I sobbed with Nathan while hugging him.

"I'm sorry I couldn't protect him." Nate apologized.

"It's not your fault Nate. There's nothing you could have done." I said to console him.

The three of us went inside the farm house feeling sober and quiet.

It was the middle of the night, and I couldn't sleep. Not after what happened to Louis.

I came outside to get some air but was distracted by the shocking sounds I heard.

I followed the direction of the sound to the water pond and was shocked at what I saw.

I saw my boyfriend, Nathan, Fucking my best friend.

They were completely naked as they pounced on each other completely unaware of the fact that I was present.

I couldn't move, I was frozen in shock.

How could they do this to me?

"Nathan?" I called out his name and he stopped pounding on her when he looked up to see me.

"Fuck. Diana I can explain? Please it's not what you think." Nathan said as he distanced himself from Emily. All naked in his glory.

Emily on the other hand didn't look one bit remorseful.

I ran inside the farm house and went into my room and locked the door.

Nathan kept knocking on the door but I refused to open the door.

I stayed on my bed crying till morning.

How could Emily do this to me?

How could Nathan do this to me?

Is it because I refused to have sex with him?

I stayed in my room through out the day without stepping out for any reason.

Emily and Nathan occasionally knocked on my door, asking me to come out and let them explain to me but I continued to ignore them.

After locking myself in for two straight days, I decided to come out.

This is my home. And I wasn't going to let anyone take over from me.

I came out to get something to eat and I saw the food had already run down.

Seriously, just this two days I didn't come out?

I was furious and decided to confront them.

I didn't find them in the house and suddenly thought of checking the pond side again.

And not surprised anymore, I saw them both Fucking. Again.

"You have got to be kidding me. Wow, I see how this is." I said to them and they both completely ignored me, they continued grinding hard on each other.

Now they're just going too far.

"What the hell do you both think you're doing? Louis and I worked hard to stock up this house. You can't just eat carelessly like you Fucking want!!" I yelled at them but they still ignored me.

Emily moaned loud enough for me to hear and laughed.

"I want you both gone! Out of my home, and out of my life. And we have to replace everything you short here before you can get the hell out!!!" I yelled at them and ran inside the house.

I was completely and utterly heartbroken.

Why are they doing this to me?
