continuation of Cherry's POV:
I held David tightly, tears of joy streaming down my face. He was awake, he was okay.
"David, I was so scared," I whispered, my voice shaking with emotion.
He smiled weakly, his eyes filled with love. "I'm sorry, sis. I didn't mean to worry you."
I pulled back, gazing at him in wonder. He looked pale and tired, but his eyes were bright with life.
Liam stood back, a quiet smile on his face. "I'm glad to see you're doing well, David."
David's gaze flicked to Liam, and he nodded. "Thanks to you, Liam. Thanks for everything."
I felt a surge of gratitude towards Liam. He had saved my brother's life.
As I hugged David again, I knew that I would do anything to repay Liam for his kindness. Anything at all.
The nurse came in, smiling at us. "I see our patient is awake and doing well."
David nodded, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Yeah, I'm doing great."
The nurse checked his vitals, nodding in approval. "You're making excellent progress, David. We'll have you out of here in no time."
I smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. David was going to be okay.
As we visited with David, I couldn't help but steal glances at Liam. He was sitting quietly, observing us with a warm smile.
For the first time, I saw him in a different light. He wasn't just a wealthy businessman; he was a kind and generous person.
And I couldn't help but wonder...what would this year of marriage be like?
As we left the hospital, I felt a sense of hope that I hadn't felt in a long time. David was going to be okay, and I had Liam to thank for it.
Liam turned to me, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "How are you feeling, Cherry?"
I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. "I'm feeling good, thanks to you. You've done so much for my family, Liam."
He waved his hand dismissively. "It's nothing, Cherry. I'm just glad I could help."
I shook my head, feeling a sense of wonder. "You're not like other people, Liam. You're kind and generous, but you where rude at first you know and you don't expect anything in return."
LIAM laughed out hardly
His eyes locked onto mine, and for a moment, I felt like I could see into his soul. "I'm not that different, Cherry," he said quietly. "I just know what it's like to lose someone you love. And I wouldn't wish that on anyone."and secondly the first time we met was just trying to know the kind of lady you are
I felt a pang of sadness, wondering what had happened to Liam in the past. But before I could ask, he smiled and changed the subject.
"So, now that the contract is signed and David is on the mend, I think it's time we started making plans for our wedding."
I felt a flutter in my chest, realizing that our fake marriage was about to become a reality. "Okay," I said, trying to sound calm. "What did you have in mind?"
Liam smiled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well, I was thinking we could have a small, intimate ceremony at my estate. Just close family and friends."
I nodded, trying to picture the scene. "That sounds nice. What about a date?"
Liam pulled out his phone and checked his calendar. "How about next Saturday?"
I raised an eyebrow, surprised by the suddenness. "Next Saturday? That's just a week away."
Liam nodded. "I know it's soon, but I think it's best if we get this over with. Plus, it'll give us a chance to start our... arrangement sooner rather than later."
I felt a flutter in my chest at the word "arrangement". It was a reminder that our marriage was just a business deal, nothing more.
"Okay," I said, trying to sound calm. "Next Saturday it is."
Liam smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Great. I'll make all the necessary arrangements. You just show up and look beautiful."
I rolled my eyes, feeling a surge of annoyance. Who did he think he was, ordering me around like that?
But as I looked into his eyes, I saw something there that gave me pause. It was a glimmer of kindness, of genuine concern.
And I realized that maybe, just maybe, this arrangement wouldn't be so bad after all.
