EXTENDING CONTRACT

As I walked back to my room, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had just glimpsed a side of Cherry that few people got to see. She was more than just a beautiful face and a determined spirit. She was complex, multifaceted, and intriguing.

I got ready for bed, my mind whirling with thoughts of Cherry and our conversation. As I drifted off to sleep, I felt a sense of anticipation for the next day. What would it bring? Would Cherry and I grow closer, or would the reality of our situation drive us further apart?

The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed and renewed. I got dressed and made my way downstairs, where I found Cherry already seated at the breakfast table.

"Good morning," she said, smiling up at me.

"Good morning," I replied, taking a seat beside her.

We chatted over breakfast, discussing everything from our plans for the day to our favorite books and movies. It was easy, effortless, and I found myself laughing and smiling more than I had in weeks.

As we finished up, I realized that I had forgotten one important thing – our contract. I pulled it out of my pocket and handed it to Cherry.

"What's this?" she asked, her brow furrowing.

"Our contract," I replied. "I thought we should go over it together."

Cherry's eyes scanned the pages, her expression growing more and more serious. I could tell she was reading the fine print, the part where it said she had to stay married to me for at least a year.

When she finally looked up, her eyes were flashing with determination.

"I understand," she said, her voice firm. "I'll uphold my end of the bargain."

I nodded, feeling a sense of relief. It was going to be an interesting year.

"I'm glad we understand each other," I said, smiling wryly.

Cherry nodded, her eyes never leaving mine. "I'll do whatever it takes to ensure my brother's well-being."

I felt a pang of admiration for her. She was fierce, determined, and willing to do whatever it took to protect her family.

"Let's make this work, then," I said, standing up.

Cherry followed suit, and we shook hands, sealing our deal.

As we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. This marriage might just be more interesting than I thought.

Over the next few days, Cherry and I settled into a comfortable routine. We'd have breakfast together, discuss our plans for the day, and then go our separate ways.

Cherry's POV

I stood in front of the mirror, smoothing out my dress and taking a deep breath. Today was the day. I was going to sign a contract with Liam, agreeing to be his wife for one year.

I felt a mix of emotions: anxiety, uncertainty, and a hint of determination. I was doing this for David, for his medical treatment and his future.

I grabbed my purse and headed out the door, meeting Liam in the lobby. He was already waiting for me, looking handsome and composed in his suit.

"Ready?" he asked, offering me his arm.

I nodded, taking his arm and walking with him to the lawyer's office. The contract was already prepared, and we went through the motions of signing and initialing.

As we left the office, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. It was done. I had committed to this marriage for one year.

Liam turned to me, his eyes serious. "Thank you, Cherry. I promise you won't regret this."

I nodded, forcing a smile onto my face. "I hope not."

We walked to the hospital, the tension between us palpable. I was still trying to process what I had just done.

As we arrived at the hospital, I pushed aside my thoughts and focused on the reason I had done all this. David.

I pushed open the door to David's hospital room, my heart racing with anticipation. And then I saw him.

David was sitting up in bed, a weak but genuine smile spreading across his face. My eyes widened in shock as I stumbled towards him.

"David?" I whispered, my voice trembling with emotion.

He nodded, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Hey, sis."

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. He was awake. He was okay.

Tears of joy streamed down my face as I flung myself at him, hugging him tightly. "David, oh my god, you're awake!"

He laughed, his voice weak but full of warmth. "Yeah, I'm awake. And I'm going to be okay."

I pulled back, gazing at him in wonder. He looked pale and tired, but his eyes were bright with life.

Liam stood back, a quiet smile on his face. "I'm glad to see you're doing well, David."

David's gaze flicked to Liam, and he nodded. "Thanks to you, Liam. Thanks for everything."

I felt a surge of gratitude towards Liam. He had saved my brother's life.

As I hugged David again, I knew that I would do anything to repay Liam for his kindness. Anything at all.
