NO GHOST READING PLEASE ❗

Chapter 4~

ZACHARY'S POV🤵💎💝~

Today was the same just like every other day, nothing new ever happens.

It's always, Work, work , party, party, Family, Family, And the cycle always repeats itself.

I let out a heavy breath before getting out of bed. It was 4 am.

As a business man, I always got up early to work out in my gym before getting ready for work.

I headed straight to the gym in my house.

I hated the fact that my house was so big, it was difficult for me to get to places fast, I even have to make use of the elevator and also walk a long distance before getting to where I wanted.

I was considering getting a smaller house. I needed that cozy feeling atleast once in my life.

I worked out with the various apparatus in the gym till it was around 5am.

I went back to my room to freshen up and get ready for work.

I was expecting some stakeholders in the company today, there's an important deal I had to close with them.

After I wore one of my many black suits, I made sure I was looking presentable enough in the mirror.

I wasn't too invested in my looks because I knew I was dashing without even needing a mirror.

I left my room and went straight to the dining room to meet my fully prepared tray of breakfast already served.

I thanked the cook and the housekeeper that was standing by waiting for me.

They always never know when to expect me here because I'm hardly home, either I'm at the family house, or the condo or out of the country.

But it was a good decision to grant them permanent stay in the house, since I'm not always home, the house shouldn't be empty.

They were allowed everywhere around the mansion except from the west wing.

That is my personal space that no one else is allowed to enter, without my permission.

I ate my breakfast slowly and left the mansion to my car.

I had a trusted driver that always drove me around, even though I loved driving myself.

We always moved with two other cars, owned by my security men.

Most of the time, It made me feel awkward to be moving around with security but after I was almost kidnapped once when I was little, my parents wouldn't hear of me going anywhere without security so I just stopped arguing with them and went with it.

I got into the car and we moved straight to the office.

My mansion was very close to the office so it didn't take too long to get there.

Once I was there, I got out of the car and I went straight up to my office.

I ignored most of the greetings from the workers, I wasn't in the mood to socialize.

When I got to my office, I had to wait for the stakeholders.

"Why are they running late? I thought we agreed by 8:30 in the morning." I said to my secretary.

"They called in earlier sir, complaining that they might run late. They encountered some problems on their way here." She said to me.

I let out a heavy breath.

I hate being kept waiting.

I waved her off to leave the office and she left without a word.

I checked my computer for anything interesting to work on but got bored quickly.

I stood up from my desk and decided to check out the view today. I haven't done so in ages now.

I left my desk and went to the window.

I had two amazing views from up here.

View of the outside world and view of the company from the inside.

I decided to watch my workers go about their day for a bit before getting back to work.

And that was when I noticed her.

An angel, I might say, in a white dress, with her hair so dark and skin so pale, she was standing right at the center of the building below, staring at everything and everywhere.

She was the only one who stopped amidst the crowd to admire the surrounding around her.

I watched her as her eyes travelled around the whole building, then she smiled.

I couldn't explain what I had felt at that moment but I knew I hadn't felt it before.

It was exciting and alluring.

I focused more on her, wishing I could get a closer look at her properly.

I wish I could hear her speak just once. Her voice would probably be as beautiful as she is.

She suddenly stopped smiling. And It felt weird. I wanted her to keep smiling.

Suddenly, her eyes met mine and I was surprised. How could she sight me from this far.

Even though she was standing far away, something about her stares awakened something in me. Something I didn't realize I could feel.

How is this possible?

We stared at each other for what seemed like forever to me until she broke eye contact with me.

She looked around her before looking back at me.

She must have been surprised I was staring too

She finally stopped looking at me and made her way to the elevator.

I didn't take my eyes off her till she was out of my sight.

I need to know her.

I went back to my desk and called for my secretary.

"Sir, you called." She said when she got here.

"Is the company expecting any new faces today? I saw some..... people I haven't seen before around here."I said to her.

"Oh yes. There's an interview for new workers going on in the company at the moment sir." She replied.

"Interview? How come I wasn't informed?." I asked her.

"Sir, I left you an email concerning the matter, one week ago and also sent the attachment memo." She said to me.

Shit. I've barely checked my email these days.

"Okay. Right. After the Interview, I'm going to need everyone's files that came for this interview on my desk..I need to access them again myself just to be sure." I said to her and she nodded.

"Okay Sir." She responded.

"You may go now." I said to her and she left immediately.

I looked up at the ceiling and got lost in my own thoughts.

Who is she?

I can't wait to find out more about her.

~~~~
Later when the stakeholders got here, I met up with them in the meeting room to finalize our contract. And thankfully it went smoothly without much argument.
After I closed the deal with the stakeholders, I felt light and free.
It's always nice to close a business deal.
I shaked hands with them all and went back to my office.
I was expecting to see the files by now on my desk but was disappointed.
It isn't here yet.
I waited and waited for a while but it didn't get here on time.
I checked my watch and saw that I was going to be late to my family dinner if I didn't leave now.
I let out a heavy sigh feeling disappointed.
Till tomorrow.
I quickly left the office and went back to the car.
I got home first to change, before leaving for the dinner.
~~~~

I checked my phone's contact list, checking for the next lady I'd bring as my date to the dinner.

I had so many ladies that would do anything just to be at the same space I was.

I saw a number I recently got and decided to dail.

Felicia.

"Are you up for a dinner date with me?" I asked her immediately she picked up the phone.

"Oh my God Yes!!! I would more than love that!" She replied sounding too excited.

"Great. Where should I pick you up?" I asked her and she gave me a street name where I can meet her.

I sent my other driver to go pick her up, get her hair done and shop for a dress on their way before I'd meet up with her here in the hotel.

I never bring women who isn't family to my home.

After I met up with her, I accessed her look from head to toe and nodded in approval.

She wasn't looking bad. Atleast my cousins won't make fun of me for bringing someone not up to their standards.

We used a limousine ride to my family dinner. Felicia kept trying to make conversation but my mind wasn't with her and what she was saying.

My mind was still stuck on the Angel I saw today.

I kept wondering when I would see her again and even get to talk to her.

"What are your family like, Do you think they'd like me?" I heard Felicia ask.

"Don't bother yourself whether they'd like you or not. And Try not to talk much as often please." I said to her irritated by her constant chattering.

I just need her to stand and sit there and look pretty. That's all.

I don't need her opinion on anything.

When we got off from the limo, we were welcomed by the security who helped us with our things.

I made my way inside the large Mansion and didn't bother to check if my date was following me.

Once I got in, I saw one of my cousin brothers who welcomed me with a hug.

"Zach my man!" James said to me and Shaked my hands.

He was one of my favorite cousins.

"Nice to see you again man. When did you get back to the country?" I asked him.

"You know me. I always breeze in and out of this place. Can never stay at a place." He replied.

"Of course. Typical James. Where's your twin by the way?" I asked him.

He had a twin brother. Identical. John.

I have always been able to tell them apart, even when most of the family finds it difficult. I guess I was close to them that way.

"My dearest brother John is cozing up to our Grandparents by the dinner table. By the way, who's the pretty lady with you." He replied.

"Hi I'm Felicia." I heard her say.

What happened to not talking while we're here.

"Nice to meet you Felicia. You look stunning tonight." James said to her and she blushed.

I shaked my head.

"Stop flirting with my date man." I said to him and he raised his hands up.

We both joined the rest of the family at the dinner table.

~~~
After dinner that night, everyone left to their various houses.
I avoided my parents so I wouldn't have to hear their whimsical advice about getting married and having children.
The people in our family always got married early in their youth, so they could have children early and get on with their lives.
I was no where ready to getting married. I just can't handle that much responsibility at the moment.
I was still enjoying my bachelor life with different women.
I wasn't ready to commit to just one woman yet.
Or maybe that's about to change.
I just have the feeling and it scares me.
~~~

The next day, I woke up pretty early as usual.

I Did my early morning workout and had my breakfast before getting ready for the day.

I left for the office, and got there about the same time as usual.

The first thing I checked was the files I saw sacked out on my desk.

Wow. That's alot. But I'm excited either way.

I started to search for her file immediately.

I'm sure I would recognize her from her passport on the file.

I searched and searched, but I was getting no where.

There was over a hundred files here and I couldn't ask my secretary to search it for me because I didn't even know the name of the girl I was searching for. Just her face.

I decided to focus on other things at work after searching for a while.

Once it was close to end of working hours, I continued with the search.

I reached the last file and was already fed up with searching.

This one has to be it. If not, then maybe she didn't come here for the interview.

I opened the first page of the file and I froze in my seat.

I stared intently at her passport for some good minutes, just admiring her face before checking for her name.

Kimberly Gilbert.

Hmm. I see.

I closed the back file and placed it neatly in my Office bag.

I'm taking it home with me.

I need to study it closely.
