Chapter Two

"You don't understand"

"Understand what?"

"We need to take care of his daughter, not just marry her off but make sure she never returns or thinks of this place"

"And how can that happen magnus?"

"I have a plan but while that happens, we have to keep her in check"

"The vampires are rebelling"

"What about it Silas, they can rebel for all they want. It's none of our concern. We have no business with the vampires"

"I heard they are preying on little packs that are close to their borders"

Magnus sighed before standing up from his seat to stand in the middle of the room, his shoulders hunched. Werewolves and vampires have never been on good terms, the enmity between them can never end however before he was born. Before his great grandfather was born, there was a prophecy. Many thousand years ago, a useless prophecy as the werewolves usually called it where the enmity would stop.

The witches were another breed that don't cause trouble for them but are hated by the werewolves. Humans are distinct creatures that are made out of witches. People that are born without no magic become mere creatures which become humans.

"They can prey for all they want, after all those packs are useless and need to be annihilated. Maybe this is their call, good riddance at least not from us" magnus sneered which made Silas smile.

The beta and gamma sat down back on their chair mulling over their thoughts, the healer had said, he won't stay up to one week. Before then, they have to do something but what could it be?

**

Evelynne stood at the fields where only males spar and trained with each other. Women were not allowed on this grounds but she has the immunity of her father being the alpha.

In the middle two werewolf colours are seen by her sparring with each other which began garnering everyone's attention including evelynne who only came to walk around today. She wasn't in the mood to spar with anyone, so she came to watch other people's fights.

The brown colour and black coloured fur fought ferociously with each other, biting and scratching their backs and limbs, blood dripped which was something that always amuses evelynne but no one knew.

The brutality when people fought without no mercy trying and clawing their way up to win always enthralled her. She loved when they fight like they mean it, like that person was their enemy and not some friend like now.

The fight was over and the black fur won leaving the brown werewolf on the floor almost looking lifeless. A rare humorous smile broke out from her lips and she clapped.

She clapped in the middle of the quiet crowd gaining attention—not like she minds or cares—to herself. All heads tried to her but she didn't care even walking to the black fur werewolf to congratulate him.

After the little show, she left the training grounds to her room where she met her personal maid. The first news that got to her was the death of her father.

"So he finally died," she stared into the distance. "Who knew what triggered his death so fast?" she commented, pulling away the pins on her hair and her hand gloves then dropping it off on the vanity table.

"The healer said he was going to die before this week's end anyway, maybe he wanted to leave sooner" Betty added. Betty has been with her from the moment she could remember as a child. She is an orphan although her mom was once a maid in the pack house however she died years later leaving her.

She became friends with her and requested her father Betty take care of her as a personal maid. Betty knew some of evelynne deepest secrets and what her father had done to her giving her the leverage to also hate him like her lady.

"Hmm but I know my father, he wouldn't want to die so fast."

"You shouldn't stress yourself over such trivial things,we should go to the festival going on this night"Betty walked and stood behind her, picking a brush from the table she slowly brushed her hair "the festival would be a good place to forget everything for a bit milady"

"Any news?" Evelynne evaded the topic like she didn't hear and asked "hmm rumors are going that beta magnus has started sending out letters for the other alphas to come for the burial and I don't know but maybe his coronation as the new alpha"

"What?" Evelynne's eyes met Betty from the mirror in horror, time was moving too fast. She had thought he would last before he died, but it seems too many people were on the radar for the position.

"Any more?"

"How about the vampires rebelling?"

"You said that yesterday Betty"

"Ok, none. No news for now"

She stood from the seat "you may leave, I want to be alone"

Betty pouted her lips "what about the festival?" She dropped the brush and picked up the gloves and pins, fixing them in the right places. "That festival should have been stopped Betty"

"But it wasn't"

"Yeah"

"Seems everyone wants to celebrate his death, it's so unfortunate and not our fault he decided to die on one of the biggest festivals we annually have in the pack"

"Hmm leave" evelynne went to the bed, she was tired and needed to think before strategizing any more plan that would fail. Right now failure was prohibited in her books to win the upcoming war "maybe"

"Ok I will come find you when I think it is time, do you…"

"Leave Betty"

"Ok sleep well" Betty pulled the covers up to her shoulders, patted her back whilst evelynne's eyes were closed leaving the door creaking a little indicating she'd left. Evelynne's eyes snapped open immediately.
