The pack house buzzed with life and sadness at the same time. Loud music blared from the main hall where all the packs in the werewolf realm. Thalvion realm. A realm only meant for werewolves.
Both little growing packs came for the burial, it seems her father was a prominent useless figure after all. One of the biggest packs in the Thalvion realm was theirs which he earned from taking over small packs and fraudulent ways. Lazy alpha who can't shift properly due to his poor performance of shifting regularly.
Everyone's faces are irritably annoying because their smile whilst talking about him to each other is getting to blind her eyes. Evelynne moved demurely inside the hall, dressed in one of the plenty hated gowns in her closet.
It's five days now after that accident at the festival in the market. She has been restless thinking who had taken the hair tie, it will be of no use to anyone but her. Betty tried talking her out of it but only she knows what that means to her.
Right now she was an orphan, ready to be married off to one of the filthy alphas here to create an alliance and strengthen the pack or one of the poorest packs to take over through her then kill him off then putting the blame on her afterwards. Which won't be happening ever, she has been training since she first time she shifted for this day.
"The late alpha Dominic of astral blood pack's daughter is stepping in" a voice shouted and this got everyone's attention but this vexed evelynne, she was in, what was the need of making her already presence known?.
She smiled, waving her hand from where she stood almost scowling, beta magnus walked close to her making her hold onto his arm. Right now, he was basically in charge of her, fatherly. He was her guardian.
"Which one of them is suitable for you eve?" Magnus whispered as chattering and laughing with music blaring the air echoed through the hall. His head nodded to a beta and an alpha who stood by the side "alpha Lucian is a good man and a very rich one at that, sure you've heard" he pretentiously tapped her hand lovingly on his arm.
Evelynne almost vomited the little chunk of food she had eaten which she knew had not yet digested because of that name. "None will be suitable beta magus, I'm not ready for marriage now" or anytime soon but being an alpha, she almost spewed.
"Let me introduce you to the richest alpha in thalvion realm eve" he said not minding what she had suggested "he is a very nice man, his son would soon become the alpha however you can choose which one of them. Either be one of his mistresses or get married to his son and become the future Luna of their pack. Although I would suggest you get married to his son" he smiled and nodded to alpha atlas and his son ronan who stood beside him.
"Let's go greet them eve?" He menacingly pushed her forward so she could walk with him, her gown not helping. Eve gritted her teeth, he was using her "what about their destined mate?. Don't they want to meet them or try to find them?" She asked. He can't be pushing her to them, every werewolf has a mate, you just have to wish and pray you meet yours in your lifetime which not everyone has that luck.
"That doesn't matter right now, does it?" He whispered back to her, shoving her in the front as he greeted the alpha and his son. They talked business with Eve standing like a pole, not knowing what to do, she excused herself leaving them. Alpha atlas and beta magnus nudged Ronan to follow her which he did, leaving them.
Evelynne almost tore her dress from her body, how she wished she was a male and all this would be so easy, like now, she pulled away the black gloves from her hand almost flinging it somewhere thinking this was her room.
"Ahh" she cried, today's gown was itching her more than it ever does. She picked up a flute from a table filled with fruits, food and drinks inside the hall.
She stepped out of the hall to the room adjacent to it that will lead to the balcony but she didn't want that. She needed to clear her brain, she knew what he was doing to her; he was playing mind games with her. Trying to irk her so she would lose her composure and make a fuss.
"Thought I would be the only one who sees the party boring" a deep voice stopped the train of her thoughts, her eyes went to him, something she never does to any male specie. Tall, manly—all werewolves male are manly, male testosterone oozing out from those muscles, dark hair, brown eyes and jawlines that could kill a bird and any other female but not her. She removed her eyes. Why was she checking him out?.
She internally cussed herself, it would seem she was interested in him or something. "Finished checking me out?" Ronan shamelessly asked, chuckling at the red hue that creased her cheeks. Evelynne gulped down her drink and dropped the cup on the table in front of her.
"I wasn't," she denied.
