Grampa's Wish

Aurora's POV

Please come closer, Thomas." Grampa said to the other older man. Aurora could barely hear Grampa's voice, and I had no idea someone had been standing there ever since I was more concerned about his health.

"Aurora, this is my friend his name is Thomas. We have been friends since childhood," he said.

I had never seen this man, but he said they were friends. How come I have never seen him or heard from him?

"I can see him, Grampa, but you should save your breath for now. Don't you want to get better?"

"Listen to my request, Aurora."

"I want you to get married to his grandson. I can only be sure of your safety if you are with the only person I trust, and that's him, Thomas Stone?"

"Grampa, what are you talking about? How can you tell me to marry a man I don't know? Please let's discuss your health instead."

The beeping sound of the heart monitor suddenly increased, making me panic.

"What's going on?" I asked the doctor as he rushed in with some nurses.

"Please wait outside; we need to attend to him," the doctor said in a rush.

"We need to leave them, Aurora. Let the doctors do their job while we wait outside," Mr Thomas said gently, holding my other hand. This gentle touch and warm smile felt familiar to those of my grandfather, but their facial features and voices were the only things that distinguished them.

Unlike my grandfather, his voice is deeper, his expression is cold, his grey hair looks stylish, and his wrinkles are hardly visible.

"Let's just hope he will be fine and get back on his feet. I never expected his condition to worsen like this, "he said.

"My grampa had a condition that even I don't know of ?" My eyes fell, and my heart wouldn't stop beating very fast.

"Yes, he did." The man sighed heavily, and Mr Thomas's face immediately laced with concern.

"You are the only family he has after the demise of your parents, and as his granddaughter, he was more concerned about your feelings. That is another reason he kept most things to himself: He didn't want to worry you." He said every expression on his face showed that he was there with my Grampa even before I was born.

"How long have you known him, and why do I not know you?"I asked, fixing my gaze on him.

"We have known each other since we were kids. Our story is one to discuss on another day because today isn't the best day to discuss us," he said with a faint smile.

They must have had a smooth relationship when they were little.

"You should consider his request, Aurora. I'm sure you love him enough to trust and obey his decisions, " he said, getting up.

"The love and trust I have for my grandfather are unquestionable, but why would he make such a request, and why would this guy want to get married to me when he doesn't even know me?" I asked, wiping my tears.

"Why would my grampa want me to end up with a stranger? "I asked, looking confused.

"He is not completely a stranger to you, Aurora, but then..."

"You should leave that to me, Aurora. Liam Stone is my grandson. I know how to put him in order. All you have to do is accept your father's request and remember that this is to continue the family's legacy." He said, tapping my shoulder softly.

What does the family legacy have to do with my grandfather's illness? Would it make him better, or what?

"Aurora," Lisa called, rushing to me.

"Oh, Mr Thomas!" She said, glancing at him while still standing.

"Pardon my manners, sir," she said, bowing briefly to him while he cleared his throat.

Does this mean I'm the only one who knows nothing about him? Even Lisa knows him when I don't.

"How is he doing? Is he going to be okay?" She asked worriedly.

" I'll be on my way, Aurora. Let me know if you have made your decision," Mr Thomas said, and with that, he walked away without sparing me a glance.

I have many questions to ask, but that would be

After leaving this place, I sincerely hope my Grampa comes out strong for me because I'm already sick of being there.

"You should be strong; I'm sure that's what Mr Gold also wants," Lisa said, wiping her tears.

General POV

"Where are we going, sir?" The chauffeur asked Mr Thomas as soon as he settled in the car.

"Take me to Liam's company," He said with a straight face as the driver ignited the engine.

" You should go with me tonight, Liam. Going to a club on a Friday evening doesn't hurt; the real fun is there," Jordan said while Liam occupied himself with a file.

"I don't have time for such things, and I believe you know better than anyone else," Liam said, raising his head slightly.

Jordan raised his brows a bit, staring at the man before him like he was speaking gibberish, his words. His words were out of his mouth as soon as his secretary walked in.

Her steps were slow, and her long brown hair screamed beauty. Jordan's lips curved into a sly smile as he stared at her open buttons, showing off the flesh. She was definitely on a mission.

"Sir, here are the files you should look at." Her voice was calm enough to make any man fall to his knees.

Liam's head remained on the paper before him, and without sparing her a glance, he stretched his hands to collect it.

Eva stared at Jordan briefly but immediately took her eyes off him as soon as their eyes locked.

"This..."

"Get out of here," Liam said, glaring at her.

"And you should be reminded that the next time this occurs, it will be the last time you set foot in this company," he warned.

"You don't talk to a lady in such a manner, and I think it's high time you stopped all this."

"Have you heard what the workers are all saying about you?" Liam asked, walking close to him.

"Despite your handsomeness, all they could see you as is a cold and arrogant man," he said.

"If you love it so much, you can have them all to yourself, but you shouldn't do that anywhere close to this company."

The door opened at once, making him snap his head up, ready to lash out at whoever it was, but Liam shut his lips as soon as he saw Mr Stone himself.
