"I had no idea you had moved your office," Mr Thomas said.
Seating across from his grandson.
Liam stood up when his grandfather walked in, and Jordan momentarily remained where he stood. The fear on his face was evident. Everyone feared the older man because of his cold personality. Liam took his cold side from his grandfather.
"Oh, I only came here to discuss something with him. I will take my leave now," he hurriedly, rushing out.
His looks are always so scary, but thank goodness he could leave without getting scolded this time.
"How are things going around here?" He asked, breaking the intense silence between them.
He stared at the spacious office he once occupied and nodded in satisfaction. His grandson was managing things well over here, and having him take over the company in the first place was a good idea.
"It's all good. As you can see, everything is going smoothly," Liam replied.
The older man doesn't always visit, but now that he is here, he is sure his Grampa came to give out an order like he always did; there's no doubt about that.
" I came here to discuss something significant with you."
Liam briefly turned to stare at him. If only he could tell him, he knew he had a reason for coming.
"This has to do with the family's legacy. You have been a bachelor for too long, and that wouldn't do the company any good."
"I already told you, grandfather, I have a woman in my life, and we will come to you as soon as she is back," Liam quickly said.
"I'm not interested in this unknown girl of yours; you should listen to me, Liam." Mr. Thomas snapped.
"I already plan your marriage, and you are going to marry the girl of my choice, and as I said earlier, it is to continue this family's legacy, so just do what I want."
Liam's eyes dropped in disappointment as his grandfather spoke.
He specifically told him about the girl he had, so why does Grampa want him to marry a girl he doesn't even know?
"Your silence means you will do what I want you to." Mr Thomas said with a straight face.
" Why should I do what you want? What makes you think I will get married to a girl I don't even know at all because she is your choice ?"
"I am not coming here to ask for your approval or to seek your opinion. It was decided by her grandfather and me, a friend of mine.
I'm here to inform you about it," he said, getting up.
"All you have to do is get ready to marry her, and we will be all right."
Liam's POV
He feels he can make everyone do what he wants, and that's one thing I don't like about my grandfather.
He is an authoritarian; everyone knows that about him, but this is just the height of it.
He wants me to get married to a girl I don't even know; the sound of that alone isn't pleasing to the ears.
"What if I don't get married to this girl?"
"You don't want to know what I will do to you; you know me better than anyone," he said, getting up.
"I will take my leave now, and you should come home tonight so we can pick a date for the wedding," he said before walking away.
My hands fisted in a ball, and anger was written all over my face. If only I had the slightest right to do what I wanted, Ted, then I would have adverted this.
But Mr Stone has a stony heart and lives up to his name.
There's no way I can run away from this. I have no choice but to do what he wants, but I'm gonna make sure the girl regrets ever agreeing to marry me in the first place.
.
I also have one for this girl if he has plans for me. I'm going to turn her world around, and she will be forced to divorce me by the time I'm done with her.
"Is he gone?" Jordan asked, walking in slowly. He looked around cautiously, like a thief, scared of being caught.
I glared at him briefly as he walked towards me, but he wasn't the cause of my frustration.
"Why is he here suddenly, and what's that look on your face?" He asked, sitting.
"What look are you talking about, and why are you?
Here again?" I snapped.
" You are yelling. I'm sure your Grampa did something to get you angry again. What's the problem this time around ?"
"Common, you shouldn't talk to me in such a way; I'm only worried about you, and you are here giving me a cold shoulder," he said.
"You should leave now. I have a little thinking to do, and I don't want to get mad at you.
"Alright, I will leave now, but let me know if you need anything from me?"
Thomas's POV
I would love to stay away from my grandson's life, but I just can't.
Eric and I have been friends for a long time. We built the companies together, and he's a major shareholder in my company.
The best thing to do is to join the hands of our grandchildren in marriage; that's the only way out. If my family's wealth is mixed with gold, then I have nothing to fear in the future.
Once the two families' wealth mixes, then everything else follows suit. I need to make sure Liam gets married to Aurora. That's what Eric wants, and the sacrifice isn't that huge, but it's easy.
"Peter, I want you to book a marriage registry one week from now! I said to my assistant.
" Alright, sir, did Liam agree to go on with the marriage?" He asked.
"I don't need his approval on this matter. Should I send the wedding date to Aurora Gold first and ensure she gets it?
"One more thing"
"Don't disclose Aurora's identity to anyone; keep her identity a secret from everyone?"
