Andrew's Point Of View
I walked angrily to my bedroom; the darned marriage was finally over.
With a can of beer, I settled on the bed, gulping half the contents.
The room was arranged as it should be, and the black paintings on the wall made my thoughts even more apparent. One reason is that I love the color.
Liam is finally married, but I still don't know the purpose of his marriage.
Uncle Thomas would only get him married for a tangible reason.
He is a busy man and would only waste his time if his grandson was getting married for a reason, and the fact that he chose the bride himself still makes me even more concerned.
Choosing a bride below the standard of his family, a girl who is not financially stable, a girl who is still struggling with life itself, there's much more to all of this.
But my grandfather wants me to do a background check on this girl, which wastes time.
Instead of wasting my time finding out who this girl is, I will do something tangible; I need to know the purpose of the rushed marriage.
Once I understand it, I will know where to direct my attack and how to do so.
"Andrew!"
My grandfather called from outside, making me roll my eyes.
If Uncle Thomas hadn't been so heartless, my mother would have been alive, and I might not have been busy doing all this.
You have a rich brother, but then you must train your grandson all by yourself. My gramps will always say we should make him poor so everyone is on the same level.
"I'm right here," I said, opening the door for him to enter.
"How is the search going? I expect a result by now," he said, making himself comfortable on the couch close to him.
"There's nothing important to know about this girl in question. She is someone I know, and believe me, Dad; she is just a lady struggling to survive."
"She has no one in her life; the only person she has is her grandfather, and I heard he is sick."
"I think Uncle Thomas offered to pay for his grandfather's treatment on the condition of getting married to Liam."
"Instead of wasting our time knowing about her miserable life, let's channel the little strength we have into knowing the purpose of the marriage."
"If we find out the purpose, then we can do whatever we have to and mess up his plan, but knowing about Aurora is a waste of time."
"But the man who walked her down the aisle is wealthy. He is Thomas's best friend and a successful businessman as well. We can't overlook that."
"We can, Dad. You said it yourself; they are best friends; he probably hired him to act as the girl's father, so it doesn't look like he is settling for less."
"He did it because of his guests. Suspicions would be raised if everyone found out that his only grandson got married to a nobody."
"You are right about that."
He was quiet for a while, staring into space; I'm sure he considered my words.
"Do whatever you feel is right. Let's find out the purpose of this marriage, and I want you to keep an eye on Thomas."
"That being said, I'm still skeptical about this girl; we can't afford to take any risk because we don't even know what we are fighting for yet."
"Have someone else look into this girl. We need to be sure of why she was chosen and also know if she is really poor, as you think she is," he said.
"If that is what you want, then I will do just that," I said with a bow.
"I will be in my room now. Do take care of yourself, and don't ever forget that you are doing all of this to avenge the death of your parents.
" He said with a faint smile before walking out.
Yes, all of this is for them. I lived till this moment to avenge their death, and I will do just that.
"Young master. "I heard the nanny's voice behind me, making me turn.
She is here to preach to me; that's what she is best at.
She always asks me what the purpose of my revenge is, and she is still here because she raised me alongside my grandfather.
"I'm not interested in your sermon."
Aurora's Point Of View
We finally arrived at Liam's mansion, and I must confess it's enormous.
The building is well-painted and has a typical definition of how a mansion should be.
There are just two guards outside, and the security man made them just three; this shows his simple life.
And as expected, he has his maids, each carrying out their duty diligently.
I bowed a bit as another set of maids walked out from where I presumed to be the kitchen.
Liam is seated before me, his gaze fixed on me while I try to avoid the gaze; I stare at the mansion with admiration.
Though my grandfather's mansion is more extensive than this, I'm only looking around because I was trying to avoid his gaze when he wouldn't stop staring.
"Your name?" He asked coldly, making me shiver.
"Aurora.." I said timidly.
"I will have the maids show you to your room, and while you are here, I want you to listen to me pretty well."
I sat upright immediately, ready to listen to what he had to say.
"We are only married on paper while you are here; try your best to avoid me and let this also sink into your brain."
"I'm only married to you 'cause it's what my grandfather wants, so don't ever expect to be loved; you can enjoy any other thing you wish to, but this would be hell in advance for you."
"I have a woman in my life already. You are nothing but an extra, so live like one."
"If you can do that, then we will have no problem. The maids will show you to your room."
He stood up as soon as he said those words and left without looking back.
Lisa warned me, but my gramps wanted this; I'm trapped.
The ring on my phone took me out of my thoughts, but the content of the message shattered me.
