Chapter 2: First Recharge Gift Pack
"Charmander, use Outrage!" Ron shouted.
With a fierce roar, Charmander charged at the Sandshrew, its body engulfed in dragon energy. A loud explosion echoed through the battlefield as Sandshrew was knocked unconscious, unable to continue fighting.
"Roar!" Charmander let out a victorious cry, its entire body glowing with the light of evolution.
Ron rushed forward and hugged Charmander. "You finally evolved? Amazing work, Charmeleon! That's your 20th consecutive win!"
"Eevee!" Eevee cheered from the sidelines, celebrating Charmeleon's achievement.
Ron let go of Charmeleon and glanced around. "Anyone else want to challenge me? If not, I'm heading off to eat."
The onlookers whispered among themselves:
"This kid from Pallet Town is insane! He's beaten 20 trainers in just two days!"
"Yeah, and now that his Charmander evolved into Charmeleon, he's even harder to defeat."
Seeing that no one stepped forward, Ron shook his head, recalled Charmeleon and Eevee, and headed back to the Pokémon Center.
Ron's Winning Streak
This was Viridian City's Pokémon Center, where Ron had been staying for the past two days—challenging every trainer he could find.
At first, he struggled, but he quickly learned how to battle effectively with Charmander.
Now, after 20 consecutive victories, his battle skills had vastly improved.
As he enjoyed the free lunch provided by the Pokémon Center, he whispered to the system:
"System, did I complete the task?"
"Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing 20 consecutive victories. You have completed the side quest: '20 Consecutive Victories.' Rewards: Power of Bonds, 20 Diamonds, and 1,000 Popularity Points."
A Future with the Protagonist
Ron felt a wave of excitement wash over him.
The past two days of hard work had paid off.
But more importantly, Ash and the others had already gone ahead—he was determined not to fall behind.
Just a day earlier, Ash had rushed into the Pokémon Center with Officer Jenny, holding a severely injured Pikachu in his arms.
Curious about how the system integrated with this world, Ron had approached Ash, who recognized him immediately and even mentioned wanting to visit his house for dinner sometime.
Realizing the system was seamlessly connected to the world of Pokémon, Ron's excitement grew.
He wanted to be part of this world.
Watching Ash triggered his desire to interact with the main characters—he wanted to train powerful Pokémon just like them.
The Master's Path
But his goals wouldn't be easy.
His main quest was clear:
🔹 Master's Path – "Quality Over Quantity"
Strength is not about numbers. Only elite Pokémon can help you go further.
Capture 6 high-quality Pokémon, enter the Pokémon League, and win the championship.
Rewards:
1 Master Ball
1 Set of Charizard Mega Stones (Worth 1 Million Poké Dollars)
1 Random Legendary Pokémon Location Map
(Note: Pokémon received from the system and the lottery do not count.)
This meant he couldn't just catch any Pokémon.
Finding high-quality Pokémon was a difficult task—even though the system could scan Pokémon qualifications, most of the wild Pokémon he encountered were only of medium quality.
The Pokémon Qualification System
The system categorized Pokémon into four tiers:
1️⃣ Low-Quality Pokémon → Weak, common, or sickly Pokémon.
2️⃣ Medium-Quality Pokémon → Average Pokémon, unlikely to excel in battle.
3️⃣ High-Quality Pokémon → Elite-level Pokémon with proper training.
4️⃣ Top-Quality Pokémon → Pokémon with legendary-level potential.
So far, his Charmeleon and Eevee were high quality, but not top quality.
The system mentioned two rare potions:
Qualification Enhancement Potion – Upgrades High-Quality Pokémon to Top-Quality Pokémon.
Qualification Acceleration Potion – Speeds up growth and evolution for elite Pokémon.
But each cost a staggering 100,000 Diamonds—something he couldn't afford anytime soon.
Ron sighed. "I should stop daydreaming and focus on earning more points."
Unlocking the Cheat System
Fortunately, his Popularity Points had accumulated over the past two days.
Completing his winning streak quest had earned him 1,000 additional points, finally surpassing the 10,000 mark.
Excited, he immediately unlocked a new cheat:
🔹 Double Experience Gain!
This cheat would double all EXP earned after every battle.
With this, leveling up would become much faster, giving him a massive advantage in future battles.
Ron knew that in the world of Pokémon, levels were everything.
Even if a few levels didn't seem like much, they would eventually allow him to crush opponents that were far below him.
Preparing for Pewter City
Ron also realized something else:
He needed bond power to evolve Eevee into Sylveon.
The game required high friendship levels for Eevee to evolve into Sylveon, but in reality, he had no clue how to measure this.
Luckily, the system had rewarded him with bond power for his 20 consecutive victories.
This meant he could now start working on Sylveon's evolution.
Additionally, bond evolution for Greninja was now within reach—another goal he was excited about.
Checking Pokémon Status
Before leaving Viridian City, Ron checked his two Pokémon:
🔹 Charmeleon
Level: 16
Gender: Male
Height: 145 cm
Weight: 20 kg
Ability: Blaze
Moves: Outrage (Inherited), Scratch, Growl, Ember, Smokescreen, Dragon Rage
🔹 Eevee
Level: 13
Gender: Female
Height: 30 cm
Weight: 6.5 kg
Ability: Run Away
Moves: Yawn (Inherited), Helping Hand, Growl, Tackle, Tail Whip, Sand Attack, Fake Tears, Quick Attack
Looking at their stats, Ron frowned.
His Pokémon weren't weak, but they weren't strong enough yet to take on Brock's Pewter Gym.
The First Super Rod Purchase
To prepare, he decided to buy a fishing rod from the mall.
Good Fishing Rod → 50% chance to catch rare Water Pokémon. (1% chance for High-Quality Pokémon.)
Super Fishing Rod → 100% chance to catch rare Water Pokémon. (10% chance for High-Quality Pokémon.)
Unfortunately, the Super Fishing Rod cost 400 Diamonds.
With only 100 Diamonds from previous quests, he hesitated.
However, he remembered he had a Fire Stone in his inventory.
After selling the Fire Stone, he earned 300,000 Poké Dollars, which he recharged into his system account, allowing him to purchase the Super Rod.
Just as he completed the transaction, the system suddenly chimed:
"Congratulations! You've completed your first recharge of 300 Diamonds!"
"You've received a First Recharge Gift Pack. Please claim it immediately."
Opening the gift pack, Ron was shocked at its contents:
🔹 10 Great Balls
🔹 Sweet Honey (Concentrated Version) → 100% chance to attract high-quality Bug Pokémon.
🔹 Pokémon Egg → A Top-Tier Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon Egg!
Ron grinned in excitement.
"Now this… this is a real jackpot."
